You guys mention to remove the damper spring and damper spring seat, Do you re-install them? Because that was never mentioned or in the video? Please help
Videos like this are a lot better with no background music. I'm not trying to rage mosh while putting my clutch in. Aside from that, I appreciate the information within. Cheers!
What i like most about J & P Cycles videos....They encourage you to do the more simpler repairs and maintenance on your bike yourself!! And they instruct you how to do it step for step. Because of that i will always make sure anything i buy i get from J&P Cycles if they have it. My favorite quote of 2020...."NOW GO WORK ON THOSE BIKES!" that's priceless in my opinion. J&P Cycles ROCKS!!!!!!
@@jpcycles I mean what i say too!! Yall hooked me up on some Deuce Neck Covers when i almost paid 7 times the price you had on clearance. And also a sweet Highway Bar. If y'all had some of those Bad Ass pin striped J & P Cycles shirts i'd be getting a couple of those too!! You should sell them!!
So I just replaced my clutch plates out and it was so super easy. This is my update as of 3/22/2019. Thankyou for this video you just helped me save alot of money. Plus it feels badass doing your own work. Thankyou brother keep up the great videos. I went with bandit clutch plates/friction. 2014 streetglide special. Since my bike has hydraulic clutch it was super quick to do.
This is a great video for my older FHLTCUI. My wife wanted the dealer to do it because she doesn't believe me how easy it is. You know how they say more people die in hospitals than anywhere else? Well, it's the same with dealers. If I can do it myself, then it's better that I do.
Bloody yippa jack, Eazy Peazy, I do most work in my 05 Dyna TwinCam 88 Carby. Will be doing a clutch pack soon, as it's just slipping now, and I'll be hooking up a camper trailer, plus Cam Case upgrade with Feuling Cams, plate, hydrolic, pump, bearings, so this setup will be great for towing camper. Only want 515 cams, as I need the torque down low and NOT up top end flogging it on the streets, but sitting back and just seeing the country side around oz and tasmania. Cheers and thanks for the Video upload, Cheers, Teddy. Keep the wind in ya face, and not up ya ass.
So far I'm liking what I see I adjusted my clutch first by the cable just to make sure it wasn't out of adjustment but I now know it's not hanks for the on point demonstration looks farely easy appreciate it there Pauly
I like your saying, Ride it like you can fix it. Thanks for the Video, i use to have such a Bad Habit of not following directions, i do know one thing, my next Bike, i will appreciate everything that has to do with my Bike, to bad i was so careless and gave a Thief an opportunity, that hurt!!! Again, thanks!!!
Awesome video on how to. Couldn't help but notice you had a book while working on the clutch, just wanted to know which book this is exactly. If I'm correct it looks like those Haines repair manuals. If you could provide any clues, it would help out a lot and I'd be very appreciated about it.
I might be a little late but I have a 06 softail standard fxst and recently changed out the serpentine belt and noticed you filled up the clutch with primary fluid .. how much are you suppose to pour in it ? Thanks in advanced
When putting in new drag speacialties friction discs and plates do I need to put the dqmper spring and seat back in it that I removed taking out the old clutch?
Informative video thanks, two questions. Where do you recommend getting a torque wrench that won't break the bank. And soak friction plates a couple hours over night how long? Thanks!
Should my clutch basket have any play/wobble to it? I dont thin k it should but it does...a tiny bit when i move it from side to side. Should i try to torque it again? I did it a few months ago and back in there today for other reasons, but i checked everything while it was opened up
Hey J&P! When should I look into doing anything to my clutch and if so, what should I do? I´m about to surpass 23000 miles on my 2014 FXSB. This season I´ve installed some S&S 570 cams, 2-1 performance exhaust together with an FP3. I figure that it might be time... Would a diaphragm spring be enough for me? Riding quite ´lively´ from time to time! Really appreciate it
When the primary cover was removed the derby cover was still on it but when the primary cover was put back the derby cover had been removed requiring a new gasket & install of that derby cover - What is the reason for this?
I have 1997 EVO with a Bandit clutch. When I put it into 1st gear the bike lunges forward and stalls. I've backed the clutch off and was going to see if the clutch plates release. Do I have to take the clutch apart and soak the clutch in primary oil? And re adjust. Or do you have another solution?
Hey I have a sportster 48 2016, with 2000ks on clock, and the clutch doesn’t work, the cable still feels okay, but in 1st gear with the clutch on the motorbike doesn’t move like on Neutral. Last 2 times when I started with the clutch on it moved a little bit but then all good, now it doesn’t work
What does the damper spring and seat look like .How will I know if mines got one or not ? So if so do you remove it completely and leave it out . What clutch would be good for my 2010 Tri Glide 103 I do want to save money but I want something good also .
I have a 2002 Roadking years ago i had a hydraulic clutch installed on the bike, aside from the internal clutch adjutment inside the primary cover are there any other clutch adjustments to be made other than bleeding the hydraulic clutch.
my clutch cable when i ride my bike my cable gets all loose handle wobbles then I readjust cable works fine than it gets all loose again after riding what can it be my clutch or something else? please can you help
I have a 2010 street glide. Slipping in 5th and 6th at speed. Twist the throttle and and rpm's go up but thats it until it re-engages. Adjusted clutch and changed primary fluid with no significant change. Is it time for a new clutch?
Hi one question for a 2010 harley trike I have installed new ramp and set the clutch as procedure but however cannot get the adequate play and the clutch handle become hard the half way. And if I pull hard on the clutch handle suddenly can feel the handle goes to the the bar and it gets kind of loose. immediately I have opened the transmission cover and found that the ramp has overranged and one of the balls has felt out the ramp. Actually plan to replace the cable and inspect the clutch basket for any abnormality with the disks and pressure plate mechanism. Any suggestion is always welcome! Thanks
I have a 91 softail 1340 engine with a 6 speed, I noticed you didn't put the big spring washer back in before you installed the new clutch plates. Don't you need them when you get an after market it?

Awesome video on how to. Couldn't help but notice you had a book while working on the clutch, just wanted to know which book this is exactly. If I'm correct it looks like those Haines repair manuals. If you could provide any clues, it would help out a lot and I'd be very appreciated about it.

When putting in new drag speacialties friction discs and plates do I need to put the dqmper spring and seat back in it that I removed taking out the old clutch?
I noticed in another video that they removed the damper spring and seat because of an extra clutch disc, what is the purpose of the damper and seat?
great video some dummies wont be able to follow it but thats on them
When putting the plates in do they go in a particular order or are they all the same? I know some clutches go in a certain way
ok you made that look easy.. thank u

Does it matter which way the plates go in?
Ja really goooood ! Thanks
Does it make a difference if you put the two inspection cover washer gaskets in with the Primary Gasket? Or does it not make a difference?

That should be it. You eliminate the cable adjustment with the Hydraulic setup.
Where can I find a manual to do maintenance on my bike ? 1990 HD softail
Is the 1996 electra glide clutch the same as that ¿
hello i have adjust the clutch like you show on your video and i can not remove all the loose on the handle .. the cable it not broke.. thank you
Then you need to make the adjustment on the adjuster in the clutch like the video shows.
So you don't need a spring compressor or anything like that for the clutch?
What manual would you recommend
Nice Deathrod sticker :)
my clutch cable when i ride my bike my cable gets all loose handle wobbles then I readjust cable works fine than it gets all loose again after riding what can it be my clutch or something else? please can you help

Do you have any recommendations for the owners manual do you suggest Harley Davidson owners manual or an off brand which one is good
or did it slide out with the pressure plate ??
Thx for sharing
Do you need use a new damper seat and spring?
Good video.I need to do same on my sportster 48 is it a similar project to this being a sportster?
I have a 91 softail 1340 engine with a 6 speed, I noticed you didn't put the big spring washer back in before you installed the new clutch plates. Don't you need them when you get an after market it?
This kit eliminates that. I have never been a fan of the spring washer on any performance application.
Are you guys talking about the damper spring?
Nice vídeo
