Cold War was the last CoD to have the map voting system. If you get passed the SBMM and tryhards, Cold War is a solid game and the best CoD in years imo. It has the classic CoD feel and the old prestige system as well.

Man. Holy. Hearing that menu music, those mics, game sounds and seeing the cloudy background. Immediately takes me back to late nights jumping around on Highrise and pumping out FFA wins with my P90. Throwback central!

Insane that in 2009/10 I was playing MW2, Bad Company 2, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on Xbox 360 with a zillion players, people using mics, etc. It was really peak multiplayer gaming. Younger gamers missed out.
Was my junior year in high school, even the popular kids were playing this game and oddly enough me being good at it got me popular in high school haha.

The original MW2, Battlefield Bad Company 2 (the best Battlefield)... good fucking God, those truly were the good old days. I'm in my late 20s now and gaming feels alien to me. Not just because growing up sucks and being an adult is hard - but also because gaming has changed so much. I look at Call of Duty now and it's just so devoid of culture and ingenuity.
No doubt, it’s not the same anymore.

The sounds are crisp, the gameplay is simple, the maps are free flowing, create a class is straightforward and its everyone's favorite. Idk how they thought making gameplay more cluttered would make games more successful
The people that ruined cod are the "Pros" that bitched about literally everything every year, "The movement is too fast wahhh" *next year* "Why do I move so slow wahhhhh"

The pros ban most of the cheesey stuff in the game (about 90% of it tbh). 98% of the community is non competitive watchers, if anything over the passed 3 years warzone has morphed the game more than professionals. The way I see it is cod has shot itself in the foot by having a successful recipe and trying to steal the market from other games. Advanced warfare tried to copy titan fall, Bo3 tried to copy overwatch with specialist abilities. WW2 with large scale modes with AI like battlefield. Bo4 was actually probably catered to professionals I agree there. And then came the battle royale era where they copied every successful strategy for BRs until multiplayer was an after thought to warzone. And finally DMZ was an attempt to copy escape from tarkov. As soon as cod stops trying to steal the hot new game on the markets big feature and just focuses on being cod it'll thrive again. The evidence is these OG games getting flooded with fans who the remaining community said was long gone and not coming back
@@mkwsoxfan I doubt cod is ever going to "thrive" again, I agree though they need to stop trying to be like other games, that's for sure. BUT if they were listening to the majority of the player base they would already know that and already be worknig on it, but they aren't. Also I mistakenly said "Pro players" when in reality I meant the large streamers/content creators that mainly play WZ/DMZ etc etc.

Everything about this game is iconic. New CODS are irrelevant after a year. MW2 09 will be remembered forever.
Something about the gunplay, maps and sound design of this game was so amazing. Nearly every gun felt so tactile and fun somehow. Could use any of the P90, Vector, ACR, UMP45, SCAR, M4A1, TAR, FAMAS, MP5K, M16, AUG HBAR, AK47, Desert Eagle, Berettas, Intervention, Barrett, RPK etc for hours on end just trying to get nukes
Literally any gun. Wether it was stock etc was a blast 2 play. So satisfying
The ACR with digital Camo was my favorite I think. I loved the ak47 with iron sights. Akimbo models. I got a fucking nuke on skid row with the rpd. You could do anything in this game and have FUN.
A big part of that is due to the simple attachment system. The guns are built functional with few major changes in regards to the handful of attachments. One thing I dislike about the current COD is how disorganized it is with its attachments. Quality does not equal quantity.
probably because the gun didn't really have any dynamic abilities, like no recoil no real physics like they do today.
I jumped on this yesterday and literally almost was brought to tears about the times I had with so many friends on here years ago before adult life hit all of us. It feels good to be brought back to those times any way possible.

@@ciaranoreilly55 I would just get the series s. Tbh with you the old cods play well. For a 2009 game MW2 is running just as if its 2009 again other than some hacking, but not to bad at all and BO1 is also running great. Input lag is there, but not bad at all. It’s certainly worth it if you enjoy these older cods. This very much takes me back to those years.
@@daben1074 thanks for the advice my man. I don’t really follow xbox as I’ve always been PS I didn’t realise there was a cheaper alternative to newer consoles so I’ll pick up that. I was looking at a refurbished xbox one that was working out at 220 with a controller so 299 for a new console is a no brainer, appreciate the advice!

I miss this game so much, a lot of people claim BO2 to be their favorites, but this is mine. My time on this game was amazing, me and my big brother were essentially addicted to playing it. I remember my first Nuke in MW2, The Excitement was Insanity, if my emotions could be made physical at that time, the whole planet would've been envolopped in it. These were the good old days, Looks like I need to buy an Xbox, being a PC/PS4 guy for the longest, my 360 Is LONG gone. lol.
I easily have the most time played on MW2! Good times for sure :)

MW2 takes it for the best core experience especially for its time. Black op 2 was so great because its the first one to implement a lot of modern features and promote the competitive side of COD to get it where it is today.

I sorted out the input lag issue on Xbox one cause I was having that problem too, I just went into Xbox settings and changed my resolution to 720p and I also selected 60hz not 120hz, after I did that my game felt way better, a lot more like it did on Xbox 360 back in the day, hope this helps. good video man!
yeah this isn't a game issue this is an Xbox One issue, you gotta do this thing in order to make it work

@@rjm474 I had the same issue, what fixed it for me was changing the preset on the actual TV to 'game', most TV's will have it or something similar, completely fixed it for me no input lag whatsoever
@@cleeretv8195 yeah that can for sure help! mine is always set to game so that wasn't my issue, I still had major input lag while my tv was on the game setting, Until I changed my resolution, I also updated my controller to the latest firmware which may have helped as well..
I’m gonna try this. First time seeing someone give a legit suggestion for fixing this input lag. Thanks man!
Knife Handler on the OG MW2, what a night ladies and gentlemen
Been playing this the last week on the Xbox, it runs and works perfectly! Just like it did 10+ years ago. Matchmaking is almost instant, I've played 50+ games and not come across a single hacker (that I was aware of), feels great to play it again, truly a brilliant game with no flaws at all.
This old COD resurgence is really amazing to see, amidst all the bad things this is one nice thing to see happen along with the Microsoft Acquisition
This game will always be a classic.
Watching you and marksman play og games and be rusty. Is truly gold.

I'm so happy that its back even if it wasn't the cod i played the most i feel such nostalgia. Seeing handler play even with such condition of resolution, controler, fov ect and just having the time of his life gave me such a big dose of happiness its awesome. This video made my day :D.

bump so everyone could see it: changing to Series X controller (and console) gets rid of the delay. Was testing Series X console with XOne and Elite 2 controllers, they had extreme delay. But when playing with SX controller, delay was non-existent
it's incredible how a game with a fraction of the content that newer cods have is 200000x more fun to play. i had a blast with the first 3 games i played them any new cod that has been out in the last 5 years

I just missed this when I was getting into cod. It was black ops and mw3 that got me into this franchise.
Good thing you have a chance to try it now! I never left cod4, mw2, or mw3 until they got ruined by cheaters. The Treyarch games, I only played for zombies. Then stopped playing until about 2017 a little after MWR came out.
The joy I feel knowing this game is back up… not only my favorite multiplayer but also my favorite campaign

One thing I miss about the older games is it was much easier to differentiate between a player and the environment. It's too easy for XoTimmyNoThumbs69oX to hide in a dark corner with a ghillie suit in the newer game.
I can definitely see the difference in the aim. Especially with 60fps. I miss this game a lot. Current cods can't compare.

I wanted to buy it last month but saw the population was too low to play, I've been reminiscing this last week watching old videos of it, see some video about servers being back up and prayed that you miss it too and played it. this is a small nostalgic thing, but that song that plays after you win a game while on the Ranger team gave me goosebumps. shit brings you back fr. i remember being 10 years old running s&d w my homies after school, blowing off hw and j gaming all night. i too cant find my old games, but its hilarious bc im still on the old xbox one that ive had since it came out. maybe i could pick up bo2, bo1, and mw2 on the cheap and run them for a bit at night. havent played mw22 for 5 months, but ive been getting that itch to play cod again. updated the game and everything, but just havent had the heart to turn it on after work bc i know what itll be like.

Seeing this just kinda highlights everything wrong with the new MW2. MW2 2009 may have had a lot of balance issues, but it was focused on being fun first and foremost. The map designs were leagues better than recent CoD's, it was possible to see opponents clearly and properly, and the matchmaking system wasn't trying to drag you down, but at the same time keep you engaged by throwing you a bot lobby now and again.
I love how nobody had pink and purple backpacks and immersion breaking shit like that...

When you’re young; you don’t care about the issues and problems, only the fun aspects. As you get older you’ll notice these problems more, especially if you’re the one spending money on the product.
But that's what made Mw2 great nothing was Balanced the other cods have shotguns nerfed and a pistol is just as powerful as a shotgun was really isn't realistic on Mw2 a shotgun is way more powerful than a pistol. I love how in Mw2 you can grab a overpowered AA12 with extended mags and destroy.
Damn the memories this brings back is crazy. Playing this all day during summer break, unlocking all the camos, getting called out for "sound whoring" cause back in the day having a headset wasn’t the norm…the good old days

Yo Handler, not sure if that propane tank was exploded or not, but when that guy was just waiting for you to defuse 1v1, I think you can shoot it or throw your nade on it to kill him. I think that was how it was back in the day. I miss this game so much. I was just 10 years to old for the streaming community. I would play this game on PS3 and Xbox 360. It's really funny seeing people come back to this game... and seeing way more people using Cold Blooded than there used to be back in the day. It's like back then, everyone was blinded by the idea of using a damage increasing perk, nowadays, everyone flocks to the stealth perks first. You have Treyarch to thank for that.

Got on the first Modern Warfare remastered on PlayStation and the music in the menu hit me like a brick wall! All the old homies I played with back then (TXC & GT) was way too much fun. It felt so empty and I wondered where they could be nowadays. Time flies and we should appreciate the good times we had. Lastly, I wasn't even playing on a gaming PC back then. Just needed to upgrade my graphics card and power supply 😂
