@F a It is abit different if you compare a GPU and CPU. GPU power is measured by the entire board. Means that includes the GDDR6 , power losses from VRM , the fans, and those RGB crap that is on the board. Meanwhile CPU power is measured on only the CPU itself, nothing else on the motherboard. And GPU doesn't have an IHS like any desktop CPU. It is naked silicon which removes 1 layer of thermal resistance to the heatsink. I have a 300W power target overclocked GTX1080, yet a 120mm push pull 1500rpm fans AIO cooler is sufficient to cool it to 50+C tops, using a Kraken G12
The third power connector is for the 6900XT red devil. That card has the third one in place. The 14+2 power phases are also intended for the 6900XT version, they share the same PCB.
One of the reasons why I went with an MSI Twin Frozr card is because the fans immediately stop when the load stops too. But not because it's just expecting the card to cool down anyway, but because the temperature drops from 68 to 45 centigrade in three seconds! :D
Less than 10% of all PC gamers worldwide buy a high end card. Most people spend between £120-£335 every 2 or 3 years when they upgrade. High end not important or lucrative. Unless Nvidia / AMD bring out meaningful cards at the £300 price range, that handily beat the new consoles, this generation will be the last we see for discrete GPU's.

Asus has a water cooled ROG Strix version like the old Fury X, might be at the faster end if Der8aur can get an air cooled to 2.7, not pricing on that tho.
Warum wird mir das englische Video in der abobox angezeigt aber nie das deutsche 🙁
Weil die Volksfront von Judäa da die Finger im Spiel hatten.... diese Spalter!
@F a Das ist Deutschland

I saw a digital foundry and the extra vram did nothing against the nividia cards when in gaming.
What der8auer does not know is that Shiek has been logging into his PUBG account and using her cat senses to hunt her prey, sadly this has resulted in others playing reporting her for Radar'ing.
It will be interesting to see how the Red Dragon compares, since the Red Devil is such a limited release.
Red Devil is not a limited release unless it keeps selling out.
Wait until you see 6900XT from 3rd party manufacturers.... 🤣😎❤️
it is quite possible the 6900xt would be a 6800xt clocked like this. the question is if stock the 6900xt has overclocking room left.
Will you be pairing it with a R7 5800X to see what kind of gains are possible from SAM?
AMD has been friggin interesting AF this year :O
I'm excited when DerBauer is excited. If only stock levels would turn excitement to satisfaction. Maybe next year?
another cat in video, this is getting popular ;)
putting the AMD GPU aside and how great it is....but when your cat popped in out of nowhere my heart literally melted😫😍😍
3ghz liquid devil here we come.
Powercolor releasing only 1000 units is frustrating. The Red Devil cards are to me the same as the old Sapphire Toxic cards and i was hoping to replace my RX590 Red Devil with one of these. hopefully there will be an available model of similiar quality.
1000 cards globally...and people judged Nvida for having 20,000 3080 cards sold to Zotac
I hate AMD but I have to defend them here. It’s powercolor with only 1000 red devil units
@@MarshallSambell Zotac sold 20,000 of their 3080s (not a high end model and not sought after) and yet the most desirable 6800xt had only 950 models (taking 50 for reviewers for example)
its a special edition card... thats why its only 1k
Well 999 of those cards have been sent to UA-camrs probably because its nowhere to be found in the world except 1 card at ebay lol.
That's only the limited edition, the only difference afaik between it and the standard Red Devil is that the limited edition has a USB-C out and the standard has another DisplayPort instead. Not that it matters, this was an actual paper launch and there's no stock anywhere.
8:03 Ouch. it looks like the solder joints held but you ripped the pads off the pcb.
In just one test lol, it wss behind even the 3080 in all other charts, so why is this title so click baity?
Money 💰. Gets it free says good things etc. Just enjoy whichever you can get your hands on fortunately for me I was able to get the 3080.
8:57 or I could lower a bit the RPM and try to keep the GPU at around 70 degrees.
Aaaand paper launch in nz
Retailers haven't even listed them on their website in Australia, so. Yeah actual paper launch.
@@Dan____ How product can be "out of stock" if it never was in the stock in the first place?
Hab gar nicht gewusst, dass der8auer auch Videos auf Englisch macht. Wer hat’s auch nicht gewusst?
I can hear Jay2cents cry when both AMD and AMD beats Intel and nVidia.
Notice how the pcb has a spot for another 8 pin connector? He might’ve mentioned this but this prob means we still got bigger and badder on the horizon! Can’t wait
There is the 6900 but AMD made 4 chips and the 2 released so far are only the middle 2. In January they are announcing the other 2.
😂 amd is killing nvidia and intel
Intel is already dead
@@mistakenotou7681 who is intel again?
@@mistakenotou7681 Intel sells way more cpus than amd, brah. Just a fact. Intel is just gasping for air in the diy market. OEM market intel thrashes amd. Just how it is.
@@VoldoronGaming AMD OEM parts are getting more common and are better at every aspect . Intel is losing market share in notebooks and servers too . It's selling more units but it's starting to loose market share which is bad news for it.
Damn that red devil card is impressive, that clock speed and those smart fans
Does anyone else always watch Romans video first? I do
Fantastic review; highly technical my kinda of review - shame can't get the damn things in the UK (for now). You may have been banned but you definitely earned a sub!
9:07 what are the 5 x 5 digits for? Asthetics?
Power color is a nice brand. Using a 5700XT Red devil for a mini-itx I really like it.
I really hope in the future retailers will sell cards with custom waterblock more often
Wonder if its possible to have 4 8pin power connectors on a consumer gpu.
Finally was able to snag this card, watching this as I get ready to dive into some OCing and benching.
Got this beast 485 used. Have on a light oc (2400-2500 mhz target) and i never hear it over the rest of my system.
"Repair is noble" I like it.
Thank you! ❤
@0:35 : "of course you can hear it"...
My fans: *hovering jump jet volume*
Cats a prone to accumulating static electricity on their fur. My cat liked to sleep on my desktop PC and killed a USB port. I'm happy that der8Bauer cat is more responsible and didn't kill one of 1000 Devils.
I was so afraid of the cat zap while watching that part of the video
This card and the XFX Merc are beast 6800XT!!!
Wow that pcb is 🤯🤯🤯! Love a 6:19 how der8auer says look at this (takes a biiig quick breath out) thick beast of a cooler......even he’s impressed at these spec’s lol
I just secured the bag!!! LET'S GO!
But I have a question, can we solder extra 8pin if we want,
OCD, as they left it unsoldered
And if we solder, are there traces for power line on pcb so it won't be useless
Hahahahha
Will re-paste it with LM.... As I always do with GPU.
So, asking hehe
This thing would be so much fun with 3 8 pin power connectors... Especially for ln2
the pads are still there so you can still solder an 8pin molex minifit onto there if you really want to
honestly guys, I am not surprised to get a card like this until quarter 2 of 2021.
Great video, cheers.
Any idea when 6900XT reviews will be out? Have you seen one yet?
Only the "Limited Edition" is limited to 1000 units. The normal RX 6800 XT Red Devil otoh is a normal production volume GPU.
your card number is similar to the lancia 037 group b rwd rally car! what a lucky number!
I personally would love to see some dual 120mm fans on large radiator. Imagine GPU with just a big heatsink radiator with just clips for fans in box. You choose the cooling fans by yourself, and card is little bit shorter.
would the red devil numbers be a little higher if you were running a amd chip instead of intel.
that's strange, the percentage increase in fps does not seem to correlate with the percentage increase in clock speed, does it not scale with the increase?
