I has 5 unnecessary fillings of amalgam as a teenager that caused me immense pain, insomnia, brag fog irritable bowel etc for 33 years until I got them removed . Now I can finally enjoy my life . I don’t know why any dentist would put these into a mouth and risk a life of extreme toxic pain.

Aah, I remember when I was 12 and got several fresh mercury amalgam fillings..going home and having fresh bits of it crumbling around my mouth as I chewed and swallowed food (no warning about that btw) and literally within the first hour or two of the fillings and everytime I swallowed some my ears were ringing in waves like ide never felt before, I became very unfocused mentally, had more anxiety, took literally couple years for my ear ringing to slowly settle down (I still have ear ringing noticeably since then) and all through highschool after that I had severe health issues, and memory loss issues like crazy for a teenager and I had lived a pretty healthy lifestyle on a tropical island eating mostly very fresh whole foods, and being very active outside, had a pretty healthy family life too...not that there weren't other bad stresses going on in my life by highschool..but man, I was practically insane and crippled by my health issues...found out years later about the effects of amalgam and looked at other people's stories and health issues...matched my experiences to a T....Sooo...I would definitely say there's SOMETHING very unhealthy going on in those..I certainly don't trust them.

I have one silver filling in a back tooth. I was extremely pissed off that the dentist put a silver filling in my tooth. I went into the appointment thinking I was going to get a white filling when I was in my upper 20's. I had low vitamin d. When I went into the appointment, they set up laughing gas (like that ever works on me). I was gagging so he told me the filling was going to be silver and would last 50 years. I don't want that thing in my tooth for 50 years. He should have told me he couldn't do it and give me a choice between the silver ugly filling and going to see a dentist who offered iv sedation. I would have chosen the other dentist. After that appointment I went to a dentist who offered iv sedation and had other teeth fixed with white filling. It was a lot better. I like the look of the white filling better. It looks more natural. I go to a different dentist who offers iv sedation and asked if they remove sliver fillings and they do. Even though this silver filling is 14 years old now and it still intact, I really want it out.

This diagnosis was made in 1996 or so, if that matters. Indeed I have heard elsewhere that even if elemental mercury is swallowed it will likely pass without being absorbed by the body at all. My question now is: Do amalgum fillings really release 100% pure elemental mercury, or do the release some kind of compound that is more dangerous? Beyond that, I know this person cracked open and repaired his share of 1980s computer terminals. I have no idea what kind of heavy metals they may have contained.

Why is dental amalgam controversial for some people?
A small amount of mercury is present in the liquid mix to facilitate the chemical reaction from a liquid-like material to a hard filling. Today's "high copper content" formulations "bind up" this mercury in crystals so that it doesn't dissolve out.
The chemical form of mercury in amalgam is inorganic mercury which is less readily absorbed and less dangerous than methylmercury (organic) and vapor forms
      How much mercury is released?
12 dental amalgam fillings will release 1.7 μg of mercury per day. The total mercury loss of these amalgams to the oral environment over a 30-year period would be 18.7 mg. www.dental-revue.ru/Other/2003-11-02/am3.pdf
In comparison, a can of tuna contains on average ~20 μg methylmercury (the most dangerous form) per 6 oz. can
That means every filling is about the same as eating 2 servings (1 can) of tuna per year
What matters the most is how much of the mercury is absorbed into your body. Most of it passes through you into your urine. iaomt.org/understanding-risk-assessment-mercury-dental-amalgam/
I have heard other countries have banned amalgam?
Norway is one country who has, but the Norwegian officials stressed that this is not a decision based on using an unsafe health product, but rather that the "overall, long term goal is to eliminate the use and release of mercury to the environment" www.miljodirektoratet.no/old/klif/publikasjoner/2946/ta2946.pdf

You do realise that the mercury vapor will just mix into your saliva which will then enter your gums, or be swallowed. It doesn't just get blocked by the saliva.

@@cautioushubbard3074 that's like saying that since I'm picking up dog poop with gloves, therefore it must be super dangerous. no, its not, but its not hygienic, and you should wear gloves, even though you will probably be fine. if you ever took science class, you would know that they almost always make you wear gloves and safety glasses, even when there is nothing particularly dangerous in the room, its simply a good safety habit. the same is true for other professions like dentists. they are required to have slightly overkill safety equipment, otherwise there's a possibility for a lawsuit against them, even if they did nothing wrong.
also, there is no mercury in composite fillings, only in amalgam fillings. amalgam fillings are around 50% mercury.
*"it has to be placed in biohazard bag!!"* yeah, half the chemicals under your cupboard are technically biohazards. when you get a flu shot, or some other vaccine, you know where they put the needle? in a biohazard box, even though the shot can save your life! being put in a biohazard box does not also mean its an immediate hazard to humans.
mercury is a biohazard because when you leave it in the environment for years and years, certain microorganisms found in lakes ponds and rivers, create toxic organomercury compounds such as methylmercury from the liquid mercury. this takes a long time, and almost never happens in your own mouth, especially if you follow the dentists advice, and brush well! like you already should be!

Hi my dentist said my silver filling is temporary I’m 10 so what does that mean

    • @KantorDental
      @KantorDental  5 років тому +3

Livyland !!! There are many reasons a dentist might call something temporary. It may be because it’s a baby tooth and the tooth will fall out anyway. It may be on an adult tooth and the cavity was very large so they did a silver filling but it will need a crown in the future. But your dentist would know more.

@Matt H Just use coconut oil. I've been using it my whole life. I have never had tooth decay in my life.. Take one teaspoon of coconut oil in your mouth every morning before brushing your teeth.. It is very hard to get used to at first, but with work and effort it easily becomes a routine. You have to shake for a minimum of 10 minutes. After shaking, spit it out, then brush your teeth with toothpaste and a toothbrush ... The process is over. You will never be attacked by tooth decay in your life. You will have white teeth .. I am telling you from experience because I have all the teeth .. 32 .. 28 + 4 wisdom teeth. Coconut oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It has a positive effect on the brain .. The point of everything is that coconut oil enters the gums and expels toxins during the day .. I am 19 years old .. I could go to "Miss for the best teeth". Not to curse them. Stay healthy. See you .. Basically, dentists want to make money on people .. I explained еverything to you .. If you are smart enough, nothing can stop you from now on .. Advice: "Never go for teeth whitening". And yes, spread knowledge after your experience, it should be passed on to other people .. I know you will find it interesting to read the comment ..
