I read that microscopic organisms can turn elemental Mercury to organic Mercury, is it possible that somehow, some of it turns to organic Mercury? Maybe also Mercury vapors when we drink hot beverages?
Elad that sounds possible. The study I’ve read supports that absorption is significantly lower for elemental mercury. The minute amount that is absorbed may be due to gut bacteria or fungi.
@@KantorDental I know for a fact, that almost 100% of all mercury you absorb from that filling HAD to first react with chemicals in your body BEFORE it could absorb. this process is quite slow though, due to mercury's low reactivity.

And when He takes that mercury filling out it has to be placed in biohazard bag Your regular filling You can take home there a safe amount of mercury!!!
You do realise that the mercury vapor will just mix into your saliva which will then enter your gums, or be swallowed. It doesn't just get blocked by the saliva.
@@cautioushubbard3074 that's like saying that since I'm picking up dog poop with gloves, therefore it must be super dangerous. no, its not, but its not hygienic, and you should wear gloves, even though you will probably be fine. if you ever took science class, you would know that they almost always make you wear gloves and safety glasses, even when there is nothing particularly dangerous in the room, its simply a good safety habit. the same is true for other professions like dentists. they are required to have slightly overkill safety equipment, otherwise there's a possibility for a lawsuit against them, even if they did nothing wrong. also, there is no mercury in composite fillings, only in amalgam fillings. amalgam fillings are around 50% mercury. *"it has to be placed in biohazard bag!!"* yeah, half the chemicals under your cupboard are technically biohazards. when you get a flu shot, or some other vaccine, you know where they put the needle? in a biohazard box, even though the shot can save your life! being put in a biohazard box does not also mean its an immediate hazard to humans. mercury is a biohazard because when you leave it in the environment for years and years, certain microorganisms found in lakes ponds and rivers, create toxic organomercury compounds such as methylmercury from the liquid mercury. this takes a long time, and almost never happens in your own mouth, especially if you follow the dentists advice, and brush well! like you already should be!
Livyland !!! There are many reasons a dentist might call something temporary. It may be because it’s a baby tooth and the tooth will fall out anyway. I am telling you from experience because I have all the teeth .. 32 .. 28 + 4 wisdom teeth. Coconut oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It has a positive effect on the brain .. 12 dental amalgam fillings will release 1.7 μg of mercury per day. The total mercury loss of these amalgams to the oral environment over a 30-year period would be 18.7 mg. www.dental-revue.ru/Other/2003-11-02/am3.pdf
In comparison, a can of tuna contains on average ~20 μg methylmercury (the most dangerous form) per 6 oz. can
That means every filling is about the same as eating 2 servings (1 can) of tuna per year
What matters the most is how much of the mercury is absorbed into your body. Most of it passes through you into your urine. iaomt.org/understanding-risk-assessment-mercury-dental-amalgam/
I have heard other countries have banned amalgam?
Norway is one country who has, but the Norwegian officials stressed that this is not a decision based on using an unsafe health product, but rather that the "overall, long term goal is to eliminate the use and release of mercury to the environment" www.miljodirektoratet.no/old/klif/publikasjoner/2946/ta2946.pdf
In the United states,
Ill let the science speak for itself , Yes they absolutley are the main cause of mercury in the body . Read the studies www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3025977/
I have 5 almagrams that are not giving me any problem but my dentist keeps bugging me about removing them. They already removed 3 in the past, the unsafe way and I did not like the process. They want to remove the remaining 5 but will have to put crowns on all of them because the fillings are too big. I want to mention that I already have 2 crowns so that will be a total of 7...it seems so extreme for only a possibility that silver fillings will cause problems in the future. Something is not sitting well with me.
@emily I wouldn’t do it. It’s not a terrible idea but it’s also not worth risking a root canal.
@@greykantor945 thank you! I appreciate it 🙏❤️
Hi, can amalgam filling be a danger for people who are diagnosed CLL (Chronic lymphocytic leukemia )??? I’ll be very grateful for an answer.
I have never seen any reports on this.
Composites don't last as long as Amalgam fillings. Why can't something less toxic be used instead of mercury during the preparation of Amalgam fillings?
Blue I’m no chemist but mercury is what enables it to liquify before hardening.
@@KantorDental I know for a fact, that almost 100% of all mercury you absorb from that filling HAD to first react with chemicals in your body BEFORE it could absorb.
this process is quite slow though, due to mercury's low reactivity.
i like myy mercury intake from the filling I got when I was a kid. makes me properly crazy for every day
Why do some dentist disagree and say it is sooo bad ?
sho it depends on how you interpret the studies. But a more cynical way to look at it is because they make more money by changing out silver fillings.
@@KantorDental yep, they charge a lot, in fact, they charge you a lot for a lot of different things.
Are you SMART certified?
I can see cavities are affecting peoples life world Wide...Scientists needs to further do something about this
Cavities are more common in bottle fed babies, and from the high sugar content in baby and toddler foods, and pesticides destroying the nutritional value of all our food. It’s weakening our teeth and health from the beginning.
oh wow, I finally found a dentist that actually understands chemistry, thank you for you're opinion! I really appreciate how you mentioned the BIG differences between methylmercury (organic)
and metallic mercury (inorganic) and you even had pictures! its amazing how many people make the assumption that if it has the word "mercury" in it, it must somehow be bad. xD
that assumption is actually a logical fallacy (composition fallacy). you also could have mentioned how your saliva constantly covers the amalgam, eliminating almost all vapors.
Metal Master thanks for the comment. You sound like you know your stuff! and thanks for the feedback :)
@@greykantor3136 sure! and thanks! have a good day. :)
You didn't listen at all He contradicted His self if it's not a big deal why is He using all that special equipment when taking mercury filling out???
Hi my dentist said my silver filling is temporary I’m 10 so what does that mean
Livyland !!! There are many reasons a dentist might call something temporary. It may be because it’s a baby tooth and the tooth will fall out anyway. It may be on an adult tooth and the cavity was very large so they did a silver filling but it will need a crown in the future. But your dentist would know more.
Livyland !!! dont get a filling you can treat cavity without it trust me your going to regret getting one
@Matt H Just use coconut oil. I've been using it my whole life. I have never had tooth decay in my life.. Take one teaspoon of coconut oil in your mouth every morning before brushing your teeth.. It is very hard to get used to at first, but with work and effort it easily becomes a routine. You have to shake for a minimum of 10 minutes. After shaking, spit it out, then brush your teeth with toothpaste and a toothbrush ... The process is over. You will never be attacked by tooth decay in your life. You will have white teeth .. I am telling you from experience because I have all the teeth .. 32 .. 28 + 4 wisdom teeth. Coconut oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It has a positive effect on the brain .. The point of everything is that coconut oil enters the gums and expels toxins during the day .. I am 19 years old .. I could go to "Miss for the best teeth". Not to curse them. Stay healthy. See you .. Basically, dentists want to make money on people .. I explained еverything to you .. If you are smart enough, nothing can stop you from now on .. Advice: "Never go for teeth whitening". And yes, spread knowledge after your experience, it should be passed on to other people .. I know you will find it interesting to read the comment ..
@ unknown 02. So how do you treat a cavity without a filling? Cat got your tongue?

Glad to hear a level headed dentist on this topic
Maybe OLD school fillings were bad but even they lessened the mercury since those days
I have a filling in one molar tooth for seven years. I am 28.
Should I remove it, please guide me.
Ikramul fillings can last a long time. I would only replace it if a dentist recommends it.
This is a silver filling. I think it is killing me.
I have spine tremor and headache.

McLovin as long as it doesn’t hurt, it should be fine to wait until March 11 to get it checked out. But you should definitely get it checked out.

Can I be able to remove my front teeth fillings?
Agwaze yes but I only recommend doing that if there is recurrent decay or a cosmetic problem.
@@KantorDental sir, there is no any decay, I just did it yesterday and I never knew it was harmful to the health so I want to remove it and stay with my gap teeth
@@KantorDental can you please send me your WhatsApp number?
Not true
If you removed it you may swallow it.
@heklik our protocol for amalgam removal is to have double suction, including a rubber device that blocks off the back of your throat.
also if youve had your mercury fillings for decades the mercury in their surface have depleted so much they emit almost no mercury anymore
It's as if you've done no tests, or proper research
*yeah, and have you?*
Thank you sir I 've watching other videos about how dangerous silver fillings are but, this is the best advice ever . Thanks for the information I was starting to get worried . I really like the comment about tuna fish I never thought about that .
