No end card segment this time, didn't have time and you guys aren't missing anything important anyway. Only update is RE8 is the next vid, and I may do something with that uncut 1 hour + RE5 recording.
Might wanna check out some of the trailers for RE5. The 1st one had a completely different vibe to what the actual game was. The 1st gameplay trailer only showed Chris and higher enemy counts. Ya can thank the baloney controversy over setting RE5 in Africa and the success of Gears of War for Sheva and the co op focus. As for RE Village, getting an extremely bad feeling those story leaks are true. Not good.
@KTV 4U Playing the race card like some jerk i see RE5 Is 100% a under-rated game and i think your over exaderating the Race card there but yeah ppl do just hate RE5 coz biased stupid reasons like the Maker of this video.
For me, the most hilarious controversy surrounding this game was how in RE4 we could blow away waves of spanish speaking infected in an "undisclosed european country," but as soon as they moved it to Africa it became a touchy subject. XD
Re5 hold a place in my heart (including Re6), I still remember all the fun times I had with my older brother. We would play desperate escape or lost in nightmares on pro mode. Sometimes it would be like an hour or 3 hours. He would play as Jill and I play as Josh. We had to many laughs together, we had tears in our eyes. He sadly passed away and I haven’t touch Re5 in months. Even trying to get on it broke me down. I never played without him. I know Re5 is not the best game in the series but for me it is.
I think half of player's issues with Sheva would have been solved had they learned to put her on "attack" mode. Give her an infinite ammo MG on Attack mode and she's damn near unstoppable.
@@linkueicatastrophe9727 I was thinking about it. I just unlocked all weapons and infinite weapons in the "Zoe Ending" mode that comes within Resident Evil 7. But to unlock everything you have to complete it on normal to unlock the hard mode and challenges, and then complete the challenges on both difficulties . When I finished I thought, there is no reason for me to play again. The same happened in RE2 Remake, when you unlock the infinite weapons, there is nothing else in the game for you to use them.
Re5 will always be a game that is near and dear to my heart. All the fun I had playing split screen with my brother and cousins. Truly one of the best memories of gaming and I wish I can do it all over again.
The Weskersexual line got me. Not gonna lie it seems like most of the characters in RE are either Weskersexual or have weird implied but not implied sexless romances. Leave it to Barry to be the only one making babies.
@Mr Wild i'm mostly an oldschool RE fan since i grew up with the classics; the 1st PS1/3D game i ever saw was RE3 Nemesis back when i was 6, and also the 1st zombie media i saw at that point. But i can also appreciate the newer ones like 5 and 6 since i can play them with my younger siblings. Now they're RE fans as well. Win-win for capcom, i guess.
Me too, she had a great backstory as well. I would to see her and Jill together in a game with each other, Like imagine seeing two bad ass women together in one game.
@@kordeination6385 Jill and Sheva are 2 in my top 3 so I would have to agree with that. I believe they could actually provide a really great dynamic though but you'd think that, Chris would have recruited Sheva by now seeing how good she was, she did help him Kill wesker after all. Sheva will probably forever be the most underrated support characters in RE because of this. I honestly believe if we would have seen more of her then more people would have gotten to see what we seen in her. Jill & Sheva in an animated movie with Leon and Chris would be awesome to see. S.T.A.R.S = Jill Valentine, BSAA = Chris Redfield & Sheva Alomar and D.O.S = Leon S. Kennedy (Sheva being implemented in the Hound Wolf Squad would be cool as well.) I hope one day to see, Sheva get paid her respect due. She was skilled and intelligent and deserves to be utilized more. If we ever see another game done 3rd person again, it needs to be like 2-3 Remake. Sheva would look so crazy with the New Engine too 😍 nothing better than her kicking some ass and showing off her investigation skills. She is the #1 agent in the African unit for a reason and she is obviously one of the best agents in the world. #UtilizeShevaRE - it should be a thing.
The Sheva A.I Can Be Set To "Assault" And She Will Loot, Attack Faster, Aim For Headshots and is basically a more advanced A.I If you set her on Assault and will save you 100% of the time below veteran but professional she will save you 40% of the time.
@@Yeshua_is-Cool Do y'all play with attack reaction on? The A.I. can easily shoot enemies through your body unless you purposefully enable that setting, and I see a lot of people complain about this lol
@@unsavourylittlerunt yeah I think it helps with follow attacks when you do a attack that doesn't throw em I should turn off attack reaction and see if it's true what you say
@@Yeshua_is-Cool The attack reaction's description is extremely vague, but basically it determines whether your partner "reacts" to your attacks or not... And this isn't even friendly fire xD they just bleed from your shots and can get stunned by melee attacks
Just thinking about Chris Redfields character transformations throughout the entire series makes me realize all the shit he's had to deal with on the daily.
@@soyborne.bornmadeandundone1342 to be fair he tried pushing it first but it didn’t work, so he resorted to punching and that worked. You can’t argue with results
Honestly any co-op game is ripe with shenanigans, especially when you and your friend are idiots and spend more time killing each other rather than the enemies.
A very fun way of defeating Wesker is to shoot his sunglasses off, flash him and then you can perform a melee combo on him. Also for professional difficulty the bulletproof vest is mandatory for the military Manjini. The melee vest can help you survive a hit very rarely but usually you still die anyway.
Yup, It's even noticeable with the red pants chainsaw guys, who sometimes get up after being taken down on normal difficulty, when normally it stays down.
24:14 That's scene alone was almost worth the RE franchise going full on acton. That was the kind of thing that would have been in a 80's action movie with Stallone or Schwarzenegger. I miss those kind of movies!
I always heard people had trouble with Sheva but honestly she was always healing me though i rarely needed it and she never died if i was also healing her. This includes professional
I call BS or some external powers at play. Sheva isn’t horrible at first but she becomes the absolute worst on professional. I played on PS3 and 4 so maybe PC Sheva is smarter?
As a co-op game, RE5 is a lot of fun. However, on single player, it can be a huge slog...especially on higher difficulties. Sheva’s A.I. becomes so brain dead that she is often a greater threat to your survival than any of the monsters. RE6, on the other hand, is just a bad game in general.
I got through professional with just the AI to see if it could be done, only 2 deaths, and none at the jill and wesker fights, with the final boss quick kill. She’s only brain dead when you don’t know how to play the game.
Just a correction; RE5 does have a major gameplay addition that RE4 doesn't have and that's quick select. In RE4 everytime you needed to switch weapons or use an item you were forced to pause the game and go to the menu. With RE5 you can manually switch weapons and use items without pausing the game. It's a great addition because it keeps the action going and pretty much became a stable of the series. Oh and RE5 does have adaptive difficulty (besides Pro mode). Pretty much every RE game since RE4 has had it to some extent.
The a.i partner is a lot more deadlier when you set it on attack mode with a sniper rifle it can basically head shot any enemy no matter how far they are
Give Sheva stun baton and she'll go full on viking on their asses. Give her sniper with infinite ammo and she'll save your ass like half the time even on highest difficulty.
"The plot is dumb" "Story doesn't really matter" "Not a lot of actual other plot events happen..." Well, it's understandable when you skip the trap Irving set up for the Alpha Team of the BSAA, the Bravo team rescuing Chris and Sheva, these two explain their motivation to join the BSAA and Chris regains his faith in antibioterrorism war, the real feel of the reunion between RE1 main characters Chris and Jill after he saves her from RE1 main villain Wesker, secondary characters storylines like Irving and Josh. And... yeah... Wesker's death XD ...not important at all. This comment looks like a hate one, but it really surprised me that you're saying RE5 story is bad when you're skipping the half of it, you did even cut from Wesker/Jill boos fight, to the actual FINAL boss.
I wouldn't take it too seriously, most reviews like this are just massive shit post and not trying to add any actual value. Even just looking at the thumbnail you would already tell it was just a shit post.
@@chadachi3970 actually I can agree with that it's even more sad when some reviewers actually tell their audience they may not add anything new some of them do add something new and some just regurgitate it's really a gamble with these UA-camrs
But he isn’t wrong. The story was pretty average in terms of what RE had setup as an overall plot in its time. It made sense with the whole bsaa thing but not what RE had previously setup before RE4.
People who complain about Sheva as the worst AI partner have probably never played with Chris as the AI partner. At least Sheva never pushes one aside or completely obstructs one's view.
The game with the worst AI had to be Revelations. Especially when fighting that Norman guy playing as Jill. Chris literally just stands there and doesn't help you at all.
Disagree... you probably just play with Sheva often and see Chris's AI a lot. I do too now. (I prefer female characters when possible.) But nah, they both just straight up suck... they are dumb and damn near useless unless you give them a cheat weapon or play 2 players. As an AI just... garbage. Rather have Ashley by my side unarmed and potentially getting dragged away.
The partner ai in this is complete shit... But if you played any of their ps2 games, you'd already know it was gonna be complete shit... Shit show just like onimusha 4
I always found it weird how much of a hard time people had with Sheva in single player, while mine went fairly smooth. I kept thinking the AI was pretty good until seeing other people's thoughts. I played through multiple times and that included the hardest difficulty with her and the only times I seemed to have a painful experience was the big guy boss where you're in the jeep shooting stationary and the Wesker/Jill "fight" on nightmare or whatever the hardest setting was. It makes me want to replay it again.
I have hundreds of hours in RE5 and never had problems either. The AI performs fine and I've never had any of the problems people describe on any version I've played. I beat the game multiple times on 360, PC, and Switch. Also it's annoying seeing people complain that the heals get wasted when they're at low health. I don't know if its a learned thing to think the AI is being bad or if they just want to be healed after they get revived? But then people will complain the AI never heals. It's so strange.
7:40 The grenade launcher with flash rounds is actually one of the best weapons in the game imo. Especially since you can buy 12 rounds for like 600 or something stupid. It really trivializes a lot of encounters on professional, especially the Jill boss fight.
I remember playing this with my boys like 11 years ago all the time. Great coop game but i cant imagine playing it solo which is a shame since i kinda feel like going back to it
I played solo 100 times and I've never seen Sheva doing shit like that from the first seconds of the video.😂 Just give her the right weapons and the right orders at the right time and you would be totally fine.
@@TheMrCHELL right! People bitch about shit they don't know or spend time with. If her A.I was truly as "bad" as people say. This game wouldn't be sitting at a 9/10 on steam right now.
Maybe the least relevant to some, but for me the most refreshing thing about RE5 was the ability to switch between different weapons and healing items just by using the directional buttons.
In lost in nightmares there is a secret where you can play with fixed camera angles. To unlock it you just have to investigate the front door 3 times then you will unlock it.But you can only use the fixed camera for the mansion bit, once you get to the jail part then camera goes back to over the shoulder
Sheva is great. Give her a fully upgraded sniper rifle and all the healing while you hold all the guns and she is amazing. Mows through everyone. And the healing items on her prevent her from dying most of the time, And youre near her anyway a lot of the time so she''ll heal you too. No issues with Sheva at all shes great
To be honest, has anyone EVER played sheva and let Chris be AI? I went for Professional mode and gave Chris an infinite rocket launcher, set to "Attack" mode and damn he snipes enemies from across the level. I strongly recommend playing as Sheva (excluding las mission cause its finger killer). Everything else is real comedy with Chris. And do not, never ever, play against the Giant with the AI on prof, it just doesn't work.
i love resident evil 5's mechanics, it expanded over 4, but 6 was just so messy. the melee set ups in 5 were amazing and added so much fun to the coop aspect. mercenaries in 5 was absolutely great. it isnt fair to blame sheva for the ai lol, chris has the same ai if you play solo as sheva. i agree the marshlands was a real cool stage. with a friend this is a great coop adventure and as i mentioned, mercenaries was amazing. to this day, no other coop game has had such a great coop gameplay mechanic, and again, the melees were amazng.
@@saimalishahid1406 personally, i had played re5's mercs modes competitively for world records and put close to 1000 hours into it. A lot of what i describe will easily be overlooked by anyone just dong the story campaign, but it is when you play re6 mercs for highscores that the messy mechanics really highlight themselves. Don't let the fact you can roll, move while shooting an melee freely trick you into thinking they are good mechanics, at least not how they were executed. Melee set ups were designed well majini reacting to exactly where you shot them in re5 which gave specific attack animations for you. Also when prompted to melee, you had the name of he attack you were to perform making it clear what you was about to do. In re6 you get a very vague image of the melee you will perform and they all look alike in the heat of the moment during mercenaries. Then there is the inventories, they are just not very tidy at all. In 5 you could exchange ammo, arrange things in the order you want them and you could pop it up easily and do what was needed. In re6, again especially during mercenaries mode. In re6 you need to scroll along the inventory and it is such a hassle in a highscore orientated environment, but even in the main game, it is pretty annoying. Chis and Piers have the worst inventory set up. Despite being geared towards coop, the partner Hud isnt very good, in resi 5 you could clearly see your partners health and current bullet supply at the bottom left corner. In 6 , this isnt the case, you can see your partners name change colour dictating their health but you're so focused on what you are doing you never really get chance to notice theirs, especially in mercenaries mode. In re5 mercs is valuable to be able to see your partners bullets. The rolls and sliding etc just become a total mess at times, if there are more than 2 enemies and you are attempting to slide stun a certain enemy, expect the game to gravitate you to the wrong enemy. Or melee the wrong enemy. Or to end up performing a roll or diving to the side just because the game gets confused wat youre actually trying to do. It can be really clunky. Again, a lot of these things will just slide by people playing story mode, but it isn't until you play mercs mode where you need precision do you realise how messy it actually is.
@@BenRai2k well I have myself put well over 200 hours into resident evil 6 and I have to disagree. After a while the melee context becomes becomes subconciously clear and the image merely serves to facilate that. Sliding into enimes is a manual prossess with no lock on so it is to the player to be accurate with their slides (aiming at the zombie to a line oneself is what I do). I don't usually have a problem with the lock on system of kicking. There were instances where they missed but that isn't exclusive to re6. The game seemed to generally kick where I wanted it to. However I can see it being a problem since it is a lock on system and that doesn't always follow what the player wants. I do agree that the inventory can be shit. Yet even that can be memorized just by virtue playing a lot and getting familiar with where the game tends to place items. The lack of information on the heath of the other player definitely is a problem.
@@BenRai2k I do appreciate appreciate you elaborating your specific qualms with the machanics. Who knows may be even I will get familiar with same flaws that you mentioned. Currently though, they seem to not rear their ugly heads too much, if at all.
But people doesn't want to have that conversation about Chris A.I being the same as Sheva's though. It's really no reason to hate on Sheva besides that because she actually had personality and good backstory. In my opinion wasn't one sided like most characters.
On the topic of Sheva healing you, you can make her heal you faster by calling for help when you're bleeding out. It'll cause her AI to prioritise it. Do it fast enough and she'll heal you before you even finish the line. I learnt how to do it on professional difficulty. Also don't forget to thank her after. You'll get an achievement for praising her enough times, plus it's just nice to do :)
Small technical correction: The game does have a mechanic where the difficulty changes depending on your performance except on Professional, it just doesn’t effect ammo drops. For example if you’re playing on Veteran Difficulty, the Chainsaw Majini will go into berserk mode when you take the key from him and can only go berserk on Normal if you go for long enough without taking too much damage or dying. That’s as much as I remember and the only notable example as the differences in damage taken/given is very marginal.
On pro there's no item placements. Have to rely solely on drops. And it changes the game drastically. For example you won't get mines for the bat b.o.w boss. The mines simply don't spawn to pick up. Meaning you have to manuever around its back, use your weapons or grenades that enemies may have dropped.
I encountered a glitch:In normal mode i killed the chainsaw majini and took the guard key and when I was about to open the chest I heard a mechanical whirl of a chainsaw.when I looked back I saw that exact same majini I took down like 5 secs ago.One rifle shot was enough to take him down again. Is that the berserk mode you guys were talking about?
Great review man, I totally agree that it's 100x better with a co-op partner just watching this brought back many memories of playing this with one of my online friends who I haven't spoken to in years as bad as the game is as a single player it'll hold a place in my heart for the memories it helped create.
I can play the main campaign with the AI, but God help you if ya play the dlc campaigns with AI. Their basically unplayable and you don't have your upgraded weapons to offset the bad AI.
@@Gruntvc I have never tried playing the dlcs me and my friend played through the main campaign and that was it. But tbh I am a filthy casual when it comes to RE games I've only played revelations 1&2 and re2 remake and obviously 5. I do plan on playing 4 at some point but I don't know when
Stumbled onto your channel because YT actually suggested this video to me. They did something right. Great stuff man. Not sure how you find the time and energy to make these.
I remember being so hyped before it came out.. and then the immense disappointment on the day of release. But then replayed it in 2017 and it was totally badass so 🤷♂️
I will never understand why everyone loves RE4 but hates RE5...they're the same game! I'm also alone in not thinking RE4 is the greatest game. It's a good game, I beat it but it doesn't SNIFF greatest game territory
Oh, i agree with you pal. Been saying those exact same words for the past 11 years or so. What i can say about RE 4 is that you can't say it is a bad game by itself. Hell, it have set the blueprint for how third person games were supposedly to be made after it's release, so you can't call that a bad game. But as a Resident Evil game? It is the one that started the action oriented trend. This, and at least for me, the game overstays it's welcome, dragging for too long in what is clearly filler content.
Re4 is really stale after playing 5. Just straight up boring and slow. It's that first impression that people hook onto to. I mean yes re4s legacy is phenomenal but that doesn't mean it's still "great".
Just finished RE5 on normal again and I gotta tell ya, the partner AI is really misunderstood. I assume most people just assume that the AI can handle itself and you can just run and gun without having to give a shit about ur AI companion…but when I played the game I played it the same way I did when I had a real person playing with me. I’d check their inventory, make sure they’re well armed. Gave most of my ammo to the AI since I knew I could set up combos easier than the AI could. I’d item shuffle with the AI, and arrange their load outs in smart ways. I had a ton of fun with the AI. Yeah sometimes the AI would use an herb when I didn’t want but it never bothered me because I knew another herb was coming so I could pick it up. The AI is definitely misunderstood. Care about ur AI partner and it won’t be frustrating. That’s all I’ll say. (Edit: also that clip of this guy dying to the stun rod….his animation locked him up and his bar was already done for by the time the animation finished. Also looks like Sheva was against the wall. Not really the AI’s fault but more because of the game itself.)
3 is also my favorite original , and 5 is my favorite modern. I never had issues with sheva, she performed very well, so i guess im lucky for that. What im most impressed with on 5 is the melee system, character has like 9 different melee moves "head, arm front, arm back, leg front, leg back, ground, partnsr help, finisher front, finisher back" and they all feel good. My favorites are josh suplex, jill neck break, barry headbutt, wait... this list is going to keep going lol. I love all re5 melee
Neck Breaking as Chris for days my dude, so freaking good. It's hard to go back to 4's after that, especially when you have to stick with that stupid back kick until you reach the castle when it gets replaced by the suplex. 3 is also my favorite game from the originals, don't get why it is so hated.
@@zesork5627 yes chris neck breaker, i mean he uses arms that can move boulders to snap those necks, piece of cake lol. Re5 is the best melee, i hope they re implement that kind of melee in the future
1:57 This was honestly RE4. It implemented the new age tone and gameplay, was a smashing success and they ran with it full force into RE 5. 6 is just what you get when you keep trying to push the envelope too far that the volcano 4 started blows up in your face.
That's what always gets me. People will be quick to say it's not survival horror and I'm like okay, first of all, that term is subjective, and second, I'm inferring they mean it can only apply to RE games where you're in a dark, claustrophobic environment with limited resources and constantly evolving threats with puzzle solving barriers to progression. I take the other approach that says, well, anything can be survival horror to anyone in the right context. RE5 just so happens to take a more Deliverance/Apocalypse Now approach. It's like, can Doom not be considered survival horror? Or Left 4 Dead? Hell the Half-Life series many survival horror elements! RE to me though just seems like an equal opportunity horror franchise. One time they might wanna keep it more traditional and atmospheric/gothic horror. Then they'll go for more like The Thing/The Blob/The Fly body horror, then they'll go like straight up kaiju horror or something, then Romero's Day of the Dead style horror, demonic, possessed doll horror? Sure! Why not?! Unfortunately, you just can't manage all those horror elements with one, singular, ever-present play style. You just can't.
@@TheLeevoy fanboys will be fanboys. There's no reasoning with certain "true fans" of the series that's been evolving since it became popular. Sure the first like 5 games (re1, 2, 3, code Veronica and 0) had fixed camera angles and all the nostalgic stuff, but that won't be scary today. Also I highly doubt Capcom really cares about what "fanboys" think since recently they've just been doing what they want (which has been successful more or less) so I doubt they'll be going back to fixed camera angles anytime soon. Here's hoping if they do make a RE5 remake they don't change it too much (I would love if they removed the stop and shoot and improved the AI but beyond that I don't think much else should be changed).
@@badreedinedjellali1328 honestly same. i mean a guy transformed into a sabertooth, to a centaur, to a t-rex, to a giant mega fly kaiju, and you stab it with a lightning rod
Everytime Sheva heals you or gives you an item, you have to thank her in order to improve the AI (press O in the PS4). It's called "partnership system" or something like that. Combine it with "assault mode" order, and you're golden.
I found Resident Evil 5 ungodly repetitive. It was just "CHRIS RUN HER! " "CHRIS HAVE SOME AMMO!" Shoot and shoot and shoot and there was nothing to it after 4 hours.
As a character, Sheva was better then the entire cast of Rev1. Every fake out death was such a blow for me. That’s why Rev1 is my least fav RE game:terrible characters
I love that part: “Dad, do you know who Jill is?” “Yeah, I know who Jill is.” I’m making some assumptions here but I’d wager you are relatively young and your Dad grew up playing games. I’m 38 and my father can’t work an elevator.
God I'm not even watching this just because of the disgustingly abelist thumbnail. You can dislike a game or a character as much as you want but DO NOT bring in neurodivergency into it, especially when making fun of people on the autism spectrum
AI sheva isn't that bad if you constantly have her on Aggressive. I noticed she becomes a lot more competent when you set her on Aggressive, and if you know how to use the AI command system with her, she's actually not bad, this includes the higher level difficulty.
Storywise, I'd say Re5 Is more satisfying than RE4. Relevant connection to past games and the history between Chris and Wesker. I just wish re4 was the downfall of umbrella taking place.
So why each time a videogame character is supposedly dumb UA-camrs have to show them with a strabismus in their thumbnail ? I know this is supposedly a joke but I had this kind of strabismus for years and it didn't decreased my IQ (I think lol)
The bright daylight stages were supposed to serve a very specific new purpose. You were supposed to be skittish about moving from the darkness indoors into the bright light outside and vice-versa because they were working on a mechanic that would simulate what happens to your eyes in real life when you move between bright sunlight and darkness, causing that moment where you really can't see anything because of the shock of the contrast. This mechanic was advertised in earlier promotional material that was even seen in the west, but it was scrapped for some reason or another. It really sucks that they kept scrapping things on top of the demands of woke corporate America. Definitely a lot of mixed feelings about this game, but you'd have to pry it out of my cold dead hands if we're being perfectly honest. RE4 with my dad was something special we shared as father and daughter, backseat gaming and all. Then I found an RE5 trailer we got excited over. Then a new trailer showed co-op, and the rest is history.
That 1st concept trailer for RE5 looked very interesting. Shame we didn't get that game or a single player focused successor to RE4, but RE5 isn't a bad game. I'll take RE5 over a lot of the recent ones.
What the fuck does any of that have to do with woke America? What about your eyes adjusting to different lighting levels is woke? Can we stop using these useless terms in completely wrong contexts for fuck's sake.
It's on the contrary for me, guys with guns are more interesting to fight than enemies that their only way to attack is to get as close to you 90% of the time.
I *LOVE* Resident Evil 5. My Brother bought it and it was our first RE game ever (i was like 13 back then. Great game to give to a easily scared kid back then). We *LOVED* playing trough it Co-op and we even did it in later years in every difficulty. Sure, i can admit it‘s not scary and fails at capturing the atmosphere like in RE4, but i don’t care because the action gameplay is just so fun and crisp. Not to mention that it features the best gameplay you can have with Wesker in Mercenaries.
This was my 1st Resident evil game so I never Understood the hate for it so I am always going to love it then I went backwards then played 4 3 2 and 1 Sure I I scared myself because horror games aren't really my cup of tea but I love these games lot even 6 Not to mention my girl jill looks way better and sexy in this game then she does in the re 3 remake
Fun fact about RE5. Playing RE5 as a kid and one shoting bad guys with a 500 magnum, I wanted one and therefore my first gun was in fact a 500 magnum. RE5 got me into guns lol
Wesker and Jill truly confuse my feelings for this game. On one hand everything is ultra cringe and nonsensical anime/matrix shit. On the other hand, imo Wesker boss fights were really cool and truly unique encounters, while Jill is hot AF in that suit, even if none of this makes sense or creates a cohesive plot progression for this franchise.
I mean if you think about it, that matrix stuff with Wesker started mainly with CV, and 4 had some dumb moments too like the laser hallway (probably inspired by the movies lol)
It's interesting and kind of refreshing to see people are still reviewing this game after more than 10 years of it's release. I myself started with the first RE but the REmake. I fell in love with the franchise since and still do to this day. I hated RE4, mainly cause the fan base over Leon and it just isn't that great to me. But I really enjoyed 5 because I felt there was great improvement plus the co-op addition, but most of all PvP. It is still alive to this day on PS3 and PS4, which is pretty amazing. I stopped playing it because of the toxicity, but the game overall will always hold a special place in my heart.
I prefer Ashley AI over Sheva, to be honest. Ashley is just extended hit boxes or fail condition and doesn't do anything, meanwhile Sheva is a burden, wasting herb, ammo and just stupid and get herself killed.
At least Ashley is pretty harmless, you hide her, and you're fine, with Sheva, she's a walking fuckwit that actively FUCKS YOU OVER with how idiotic she is sometimes, um hey Sheva can you let my almost dying ass use that her- and you used it.... thanks Sheva
Originally re5 was supposed to be similar to re 4. The closest we got was the re5 teaser and Chris there was the original design until we saw the drastic shift in the final trailer. Supposedly everything wrong with re5 was last minute choice to capture the multiplayer online craze at the time.
I’d say my ideal RE game would be RE 2 remake. It scared me. Great horror elements. I felt like I had to scramble for resources sometimes and I love the controls. I didn’t play the originals so I don’t have a nostalgia thing. The controls looks like a nightmare. I’d never played RE until about March except for a casual RE 5 session. I picked up 7 and that kicked off a couple months of me playing each RE game, minus a few. I played RE 1 HD and I like the controls for that game. Would I want to play each game in the series like that? No. I think RE 2 remake did a great job mixing great 3rd person shooting and great survival horror. Right now I’m up to RE Revelations 2 and I’m really enjoying it. Can’t wait for Village. I hope they don’t blow it. As for the more action focused entries, I don’t mind them so much and I think that’s because from a story perspective, it mostly makes sense. You have to expand the world out and because of that, things get more ridiculous. I think you can have a great action game and a great horror game, I just can’t think of one right now
Sheva is one of my faves in RE. And she is cool. Usually, I play this game with my boyfriend, but once I play the levels alone, with Sheva and Chris was a bot. It went very fine.
the modes in DMC where you and the enemies die in one hit is heaven or hell not dante must die. I know it doesn't matter but I couldn't help but notice.
I didn't find it bad, it even Surprised me in a good way cuz I was reading and hearing all the bad reviews about it. The same thing for Resident Evil 6, I even enjoyed Resident Evil 6 more than Resident Evil 5.
I think the re remakes proved that only reason og resident evil was scary. Is due to shitty controls and camera angles. It is the reason most of us panicked i feel. I think re5 came out at a time when video games where advanced enough where controls and camera angles where better. Therefore gameplay could be faster. They where really pushing to give us a good game. Yet people gotta hate because they don't understand things change.
I love how people bitch about 5 & 6 being the worst but they love 4, well guess exactly who you get to blame for 5/6.....that's right 4, personally I wish we could go back to the old 3rd person setting as I hardly play 4/5/6 but I play RE remake/2/3/CVX all the time
I did that both in RE4 and even in Deus Ex HR, now I'm starting to do that in RE5. I get the starter pistol and shotgun and invest a lot of upgrades into them. Then I start finding more weapons that are initially weaker than my upgraded guns or I don't have enough ammo. By the time I upgrade them, I'll find even newer guns and the cycle repeats. So I stick with the upgraded pistol and fare better than with machine guns. It constantly pops enemies heads on criticals and it's quite accurate, and it's easy to conserve ammo if you need to.
I don't get why people the character of Sheva. It's the character controlled that AI sucks. If you play as Sheva, the AI controlled Chris is just as bad
I like res5 for what it is- I've played through it 4-5 times its fun especially in coop mode. Yes btw did u play res8 demo? Id like to hear your opinions really. I played it and thought it was very disappointing - very easy, very linear, insulting puzzles, just an illusion of bigger world. Most people seem to really like the demo and I'm not sure what they liked about it.
Im an old fan, Im 34 and Ive been in love with RE since the original RE2 came out on the 64. Ive played Every single game, except Revelations 1. And I absolutely Loved RE5. Sure it was different, but it was SO damn good it didnt matter. I Vividly remember being bombarded by lickers, in the shadows, with nothing but the muzzle flash of Chris's rifle lighting up the wave of claws and blood mere inches away from my face, as I beat back the horde of deadly bioweapons. Yes, 4 is the undisputed champion, but 5 gave me something I had never seen before. Not to mention the seamless co-op and incredible Mercenaries mode.
Down the middle is the best way to take with how RE5/6 are. Fun in their own right and genuinely good shooters but either bad or just not in a RE title. Prefer 6 to 5 seeing as how 5 doesn’t work on my computer when I try to start it and playing as all the different characters is fun even if there isn’t much actual variety aside from dialogue.

Kennedy
(Sheva being implemented in the Hound Wolf Squad would be cool as well.)
I hope one day to see, Sheva get paid her respect due. She was skilled and intelligent and deserves to be utilized more.

My exact feelings. 6 really failed me.
I got through professional with just the AI to see if it could be done, only 2 deaths, and none at the jill and wesker fights, with the final boss quick kill.
She’s only brain dead when you don’t know how to play the game.
its the same problem with cold planet 2. great game on co-op, atrocious SP.
But Sheva is just an Ashley that can fight back.
Chris is worse than Sheva if you can believe that....

And... yeah... Wesker's death XD ...not important at all.

People who complain about Sheva as the worst AI partner have probably never played with Chris as the AI partner. At least Sheva never pushes one aside or completely obstructs one's view.
Lol
The game with the worst AI had to be Revelations. Especially when fighting that Norman guy playing as Jill. Chris literally just stands there and doesn't help you at all.
Did chris punch Sheva into the lava, instead of the boulder?
Disagree... you probably just play with Sheva often and see Chris's AI a lot. I do too now. (I prefer female characters when possible.)
But nah, they both just straight up suck... they are dumb and damn near useless unless you give them a cheat weapon or play 2 players.
Yea same for me. Not sure why it tends to be so bad for others

Maybe the least relevant to some, but for me the most refreshing thing about RE5 was the ability to switch between different weapons and healing items just by using the directional buttons.

How were re6's mechanics messy?
Small technical correction:
The game does have a mechanic where the difficulty changes depending on your performance except on Professional, it just doesn’t effect ammo drops.
The exact number is 7 on the difficulty scale.

I heavily enjoyed 5. It's my second fave next to 3 so I am one of those fans who are in a very bizarre spot.
0:53, I mean, the opening sequence is pretty damn tense. Sure not scary but does keep you on the edge of your seat (on a first playthrough of course).
@@TheLeevoy survival horror is by definition horror with limited supplies and maybe awkward controls

Everytime Sheva heals you or gives you an item, you have to thank her in order to improve the AI (press O in the PS4). It's called "partnership system" or something like that. Combine it with "assault mode" order, and you're golden.
That's a cheesy idea, and really doesn't work when you're being mobbed by zombies. In a more typical cover-based shooter, it might work.
wtf this was a thing? Lol would've been nice to know
0:24 Does anyone else think the '5' looks like someone standing on one foot while dabbing? I dare you to try and unsee it!
Can't unsee what can't be seen
Nah that is tottaly MJ doing is signature pose when he stands on his toes.
Yes play on hardest difficulty and talk about how you can never run out of ammo. Have to really conserve your shots
Exactly my thoughts when he brought up ammo
Its always really good to see one of your videos, i love your commentary and mostly share the same opinions! great vid!
Fair point
Man, RE5 is AMAZING, and give AI Sheva an infinite Magnum and she'll steamroll the game herself!
I love that part:
“Dad, do you know who Jill is?”
“Yeah, I know who Jill is.”
I’m making some assumptions here but I’d wager you are relatively young and your Dad grew up playing games. I’m 38 and my father can’t work an elevator.
Nah, I'm 25 (maybe that's young, idk) and my dad is 55. Only reason he knows who Jill is is because of the shitty movies.
@@SyntheticMan xddd
God I'm not even watching this just because of the disgustingly abelist thumbnail. You can dislike a game or a character as much as you want but DO NOT bring in neurodivergency into it, especially when making fun of people on the autism spectrum
Resident evil 5 has dynamic difficulty too. It's been a staple since RE4. Remake 2 and 3 has it also.
I think re village has it too
AI sheva isn't that bad if you constantly have her on Aggressive.
Id say the downfall if Umbrella has already taking place during RE 2 and 3
So why each time a videogame character is supposedly dumb UA-camrs have to show them with a strabismus in their thumbnail ?
I know this is supposedly a joke but I had this kind of strabismus for years and it didn't decreased my IQ (I think lol)
What is a strabismus

@@Gruntvc just like all other capcom games RE5 got nerfed when it got released
What the fuck does any of that have to do with woke America? What about your eyes adjusting to different lighting levels is woke?
Can we stop using these useless terms in completely wrong contexts for fuck's sake.
@Erwin Rommel With your name, I am very much inclined to dismiss your non-answer.
"Go do some research" is lazy and pointless, thanks.
@Erwin Rommel when this came out "woke" movement wasn't a thing yet. I swear people project way too much now a days .
Just reading the title, I would say that RE5 was so fun.
The part when the enemies start using guns after fighting the giant spider, it pretty much goes downhill for me
It's on the contrary for me, guys with guns are more interesting to fight than enemies that their only way to attack is to get as close to you 90% of the time.
I’m more of an action guy so when I reached that part I was like “Hecc yea Ghost Recon!”
Resident Evil 5 really needs a remake.
You get to lay waste to hoards of basketball Americans, so that part is pretty cool.
It was a bad Resident Evil game. But it is a GREAT game on its own.
This was my 1st Resident evil game so I never Understood the hate for it so I am always going to love it then I went backwards then played 4 3 2 and 1
Sure I I scared myself because horror games aren't really my cup of tea but I love these games lot even 6
Not to mention my girl jill looks way better and sexy in this game then she does in the re 3 remake
@@DarkAttackYT indeed she's so much better as a Burnette 😍 look on the bright side she's a burnette in the lost in nightmare DLC
But Sheva can be controlled by a real player thus she wins by default.
@@Programm4r I'm talking about AI
@@КристиянТрънбашев-м9о Well, then state your standards for a character? I'd like to hear them.
the modes in DMC where you and the enemies die in one hit is heaven or hell not dante must die.
I know it doesn't matter but I couldn't help but notice.
29:05 I'd like to correct a mistake there, you mean "Heaven or Hell" mode from DMC.
Lmao. Your dad must be around my age I'm 40. Of course he knows who Jill is
Lol true he's probably played the original one in college or something
I love how people bitch about 5 & 6 being the worst but they love 4, well guess exactly who you get to blame for 5/6.....that's right 4, personally I wish we could go back to the old 3rd person setting as I hardly play 4/5/6 but I play RE remake/2/3/CVX all the time
yep
as much as I love RE4 it was a sign of things to come
5:35 My ass it does. I basically get through everything but the heaviest enemies with pistols
I don't get why people act like he said Chris's AI was better.
No, I didn't play it. I probably should've but it's too late now. I'm just hoping RE8 doesn't suck but it's not looking good.
RE5 definitely doesn't feel like a "horror" experience, but I'd argue some stuff in the opening segment is at least eerie or unsettling
Let's be honest 4 isn't "horror" ether
@@KingsNJenssons No. But people seem to respect it more as a horror game. Personally, I'd say say for is action-horror with a lot of campy stuff
