One of the smaller details that annoyed me about this game was Brad's demeanor in comparison to the original. Brad was an important starting point in establishing how much you should fear Nemesis and his scared sh#%less demeanor when Jill finds him established that right then and there.. but in the remake he referred to Nemesis in this throw away fashion, like a matter of fact while he mopes and nonchalantly walks down the panic ridden streets of Raccoon city. Right out of the gate the red flags were thrown at us.
'That thing has a hard on on every STARS member left in town' okay, lets go. Doesn't seem scared in any way about the aspect a giant humanoid killing machine is chasing them. Let's just walk away calmly.

My main problem with the remake... is not the Jill we all know and love and they made her one more of that trendy trope we all are tired of. RE3:Nemesis' Jill just showed how strong she was and without being a diva, why did they had to change that? Leave that arrogant behaviour to villains and pretentious clowns that get killed within minutes in a game/movie/book.
Yup that’s what i’m talking about . Jill has become ugly ripoff imitation of Alice with Lara croft’s personality. Where’s gracefulness? Where’s the best team work she had.

In the original she was very professional, mature and still kept her calm even when she confronted Nicholai several times. Now it's just bitching and anger like a teenager...

@@pooler57 Because it's generic and from an artistic standpoint, it's just terrible. It's bland. It's plain. It's not creative AT ALL and too many remade classic, stylish characters are now just wearing a tanktop and jeans. It's an insult to those who loved classic characters.
Please mind that I also hated every other time Capcom changed ResEv characters, including but not limited to RE5. Jill wasn't Jill there either. And Chris was a joke.
It's scary to realize that Operation: Raccoon City was more canon to established RE lore than RE3 remake.
To be even more specific, I find it scary that Operation Raccoon City was the one game to actually let you go inside the park and clock tower (in addition to faithfully recreating the offscreen battle between the U.S. army and T-103 Tyrants at the Dead Factory), while The Umbrella Chronicles was the only one to show some love to the Gravediggers and Nemesis’ shirtless multi-tentacled form.
Resident evil Operation Raccoon city was more like Outbreak despite I criticized it for not being exactly as Outbreak before unlike that shit Resistance...
It's also the fact that Operation Raccoon City was more faithful to RE2 and RE3, than both of their remakes combined, will ever be!

First of all you are wrong by expecting RE2 and RE3 to be remakes, they are not and they never were remakes; they are reimagined versions, like Silent Hill Shattered Memories. RE: Operation RC is a spin off that is more faithful to the lore but has many differences with the gameplay
@@zerot480 I actually agree with you them being re-imaginings, but they're unfortunately remakes. It's been stated all over the place that they're remakes. If you look up Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020), it very clearly states, that they are remakes of Resident Evil 2 (1998), and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999). I'm not referring to the ORC gameplay, I'm referring to the all the source elements. The cutscenes, the enemy and character designs, the setting pieces etc. It was faithful as can be, to the original elements of both Resident Evil 2 and 3. So it's very much fair. I know it's a spin off, I do know my apples and oranges, I'm just saying that it's hilarious how a spin off game could do a better job, than two of the most anticipated remakes. I really liked ORC. It's underrated, and had a lot more to offer than most people think.

@Han Solo huge Jill fan so after years of having Chris and Leon shoved down our throats,I was just happy to have Jill back. Glad she had a personality this time,unlike her last appearance in Rev1 where she was just kinda there.

I agree, Jill is generic af in RE3. I don't necessarily dislike her voice acting, even though I think the voice was not the best fit for her character. But finally someone else noticed the writing is bad. Idk why they tried making Jill into another generic wannabe strong female protagonist like the reboot lara croft. It's getting boring.
Jill was professional and calm even in the worst of danger. Now she’s a foul mouth 12 year old boy trying to be tough.
Almost all of these comments about Jill are misogynistic and it’s driving me crazy but I agree with this one. She responds only with badass one-liners that totally miss the horror atmosphere the game should have been going for. She was just bland and pandering to the “feminist agenda” instead of actually being the powerful (female) icon she is/used to be. Though it was hilarious that the bitch can’t even swim.
A shame really. I was sooo looking forward for this game after RE2 Remake. Which was awesome. Nemesis...while I liked his base first form design....was downplayed overall too easy...(gets down with a grenade) and the whole stalking aspect was only in the short...linear city area...after that they transformed him tooo much with his 2nd form which became a generic boss like simmons. Really hated the animalistic look of Nemesis.
And Yes Jill became a bitch. I know she is S.T.A.R.S and had previous experience with the zombies and such from the mansion incident...but c'mon...giving her the whole badass bitch and one liners reminded me of Alice from those god awful movies.
And they cut out sooo much content...the clocktower, the park...was rushed.
The only character I liked was Nicholai...they did a good job making him an asshole and meant to be hated. His overall appearance was good. Carlos...for Carlos...he's okay and all.
As for why RE3 got bad?...it's cos a new development team was behind it as far as I heard and more focus was put into that Resistence.
RE2 Remake was much much better. Sure it had it's flaws. but not this much.

I had a bad feeling when they mentioned that a new team was behind the creation of RE3 i just didnt know it went too far...and now RE4 is confirmed mate....for their next project....

The scene where nemesis kills brad was why I loved RE 3 when I was a kid. It was by far my favorite scene in the entire RE franchise. I just can’t believe they cut that out. Fuck capcom.
They removed alot stuff like half of the game no worms no mercenaries no choise moments ....

It was iconic. It set the pace and feeling of danger and urgency of the game. They completely undid it. Also, the Clocktower was one of my favourite locations in the whole series and by far what I remember the most of RE3 (well, except for the beginning streets) and it was also scraped. Mind boggling.
When they remade resident evil 1 it was fantastic, they stayed faithful to the original with enemies, locations and the enjoyment of the game
I could say the same with resident evil 2 remake but missing a few things but didn't effect my enjoyment of the game
But while I was playing this game I just felt that it was rushed and didn't stay faithful to the original at all, nemesis was a walkover, the enemy types were limited, the locations were whittled down to near nothing, and given the time limit to make this game, it feels so incomplete it's unreal which is a major disappointment
Sorry capcom but this game is not worth 50 quid and it just left me disappointed
@Val I see your point but at the same time when they remade resident evil 1 folks who never played the original enjoyed that just as much due to the fact of how awesome the remake was, even people who played the original loved the remake of resident evil 1 purely for how it stayed loyal and kept everything while adding a few new things, but with this remake they totally forgot all that, they stumbled a bit with the remake of resident evil 2 but it wasn't nearly as bad the remake of 3
So overall yes you have a point but there's no excuse to change the game that much and for them to justify it is a remake which is clearly isn't
RE2 remake was not great, but it had a lot of pretty good stuff in it. However it pales in comparison to the amount of content the original had. RE3 has the same problem, except it has even less stuff that the original game had, and it almost feels rushed and unfinished, a cynical glorified dlc. RE1 remake was great.

@Lemon Acid Rounds I don't think the donations are a indicator about how much people enjoyed the game and such, they watched it so much cause it was new. Every new game will generate a buzz in attention, but I think you are missing the point. RE remake was a brand new game and plenty of people who never played the original 96 release, played the remake. It introduced the game again to a new generation but it remained faithful while adding new things so both new and old players could enjoy the game. Generations can change but the heart of gaming always remains the same and they don't have to like the graphics or the puzzles but the game is about puzzle solving, it is one aspects of the game and as with RE remake they could just upgrade the graphics but remain faithful to the original. RE2/3 remake is not faithful to the original it doesn't carry the soul and core of the original.
RE3 remake is a good game for you but to me it could have been so much more, same with RE2 remake, if they treated both remakes with the same respect/care RE1 remake received both RE2/3 remake would have been masterpieces, together with RE1 remake it really could have been one hell of a trilogy.
if anything the railgun is worse than boulder punching because firing it literally shatters the solid stone ground under her feet, meaning it should turn her body to much just firing it and when shes aiming it directly forward it would send her flying with enough force to send her through the nearest wall

Game feels like an improved version of RE5 and 6. just way too much action than survival horror game. it starts really good at first but the middle and last is just shit. we want a game that's all good not just from the beginning or the ending

The idiots believed this game was actually good. Nemesis appearances are resumed to what's in the trailers. Disgusting. And like I said, no skin burn effects, the flamethrower was added just for not making it even clunkier. This game is Terrible!

Nilly Nush you can remove the limbs from zombies in RE3 remake. You just can’t do it when they’re on the ground as a means to prevent knife spam.
All they had to do to add the clocktower part is when Jill is either unconscious from the train crash or when she was unconscious from being infected from Nemy.
As for the area for the gravedigger, it took Carlos a day and a half to find Jill (after she gets infected). Have him search there (and other areas that was cut, heck, add a new area or use an area or two from outbreak)!

I completely agree about the bad aesthetic change for the labs in RE2R. The grimy industrial look was not only creepier, but it just made sense logically.
It's supposed to be a secret lab. With substandard safety protocol that could lend itself to an outbreak.
The remake made it look like a futuristic apple store. Who were they bringing to this lab to try and impress? Why spend so much money on making it look that way when no one should theoretically ever get to see it?

I kinda liked it because it was a good contrast from the dirty city and sewers to suddenly sterile lab environment. It almost made the lab feel creepier with how clean it was. It's so clean that you can't trust it.

Like, he needed to seem condescending, but still easily and quickly redeemable. He had to hit on jill, yet not say anything to imply he's objectifying or sexualizing her.
So when you cross every phrase off the list, anything that could possibly offend anyone, all that's left is "tall drink of water"

I finally finished this game an I must say am disappointed. I wish I could get my 60 dollars back then replay this game. Nemesis was a laughable joke and it did nothing to expend on the characters. This is how Resident Evil 3 nemesis remake would be like if it was directed by Michael Bay.

@Necro Fell "besides gameplay"? Well I guess if you ignore the gameplay, the core mechanics, the story, the neutered nemesis, the scrapped settings, the pacing, the level design, lack of extra modes, and lack of puzzles, it does kind of feel like a classic resident evil game.
If this is what they did to RE3 please don't remake RE4...

I enjoyed it, not saying it was perfect or a great game, but I found it decent.

This entire game really just felt like it could’ve been DLC. Released this WAY to soon after RE2 Remake. Feels so half-assed, it’s quite shocking it sold for $60. Proper time & care could have made this another great addition to the RE Remakes.
I thought the best part of the game was when Carlos goes to the raccoon city police department. Because it felt not to linear. Then I remembered... this is just because it’s stuff from RE2.
The ''I will give you stars'' line in the original is metal as fuck. Jill says it at the end when nemesis is still kind of alive after getting hit by the emp laser thing. She points her magnum at nemesis and says it before shooting. I would compare this line to the liconic lines from terminator 2, Judge dredd and robocop etc

I said it before the game official release, and I'm saying it now - this game is piss poor creation sold as a full game. Resident Evil 3 Remake Jill can be some other character and that shows how little of old Jill actually remains in this game (which is zero to none). In a few months many will forget this game even exist until sales.

Resident Evil Remake on the original GameCube is what Resident Evil at its core is. Survival horror, fuck all ammo, puzzles to solve, incredible atmosphere, and so on. When people go on and on about "it's not Resident Evil anymore" is because nothing comes close to that remake and is the most definite Resident Evil. How most people can have 4 as the best and complain about the "action" of village, 5, 6 is totally fucking beyond me. If you ran out of ammo in Remake you had to run past the zombies and actually use a brain and plan out what the fuck your suppose to do in that zombie infested mansion. The original Remake is capcoms best Resident Evil and the benchmark of Resident Evil.

What a dumb opinion to have. RE2MAKE was great. Not that good a remake but it's an amazing game
RE2 cut content as well making it much shorter. And didn’t provide a proper A/B scenario mechanic like in the original. I wish people would stop giving it a pass on that, even though it was relatively still an enjoyable remake.
It was also a missed opportunity on adding more sections like expanding on portions of the city before reaching the police station and adding more weapon variety. You would think Kendo’s shop would’ve made for an interesting pseudo merchant of sorts for the remake where you can backtrack to it and upgrade parts or something, Maybe house some cool unblock-able stuff post game and outfits. Maybe even a riot police outfit with padding or armor which allows you to tank more zombie hits. You, know, some quality of life changes and additions that add to multiple playthroughs or something.
But no, RE2 remake was pretty barebones. The speedrunning aspect was really the only replay value it had and the 4th survivor. And once I did that, I didn’t really go back to it. The horror feel of it was great again, but overall RE2 remake and RE3 remake are in similar boats. STOP CUTTING CONTENT. They’re supposed to add more stuff to remakes and make them Superior to the originals, not do the complete opposite.

claire is clearly angry biker girl in the remake which gave her a unique charisma and what's wrong with that? The only SJW bitch is Jill in RE3R. She easily shits on Nemesis like he was nothing, she got angry at Carlos for telling stupid jokes to her. Claire in RE2R is a person who got anger issue but that helped her overcome the nightmare. After she learned the truth about how badly Sherry parents treat their child she's so determined to take down birkin once and for all. When she talks to sherry and Leon she never acts like a superior feminist at all, unlike Jill.

The original creators made her character a lovable Mrs. Right. She was never angry. Especially in Code Veronica. She loves children, cares about miserable people like Steve... When you see her, you feel like home.
And this is why Claire is still my favorite girl name.

I love the RE2 remake but Claire cursing was weird and the attitude didn't match her at all. Also she didn't show any sign of fear when she sees all the monsters for the first time and the acting was bad. When she meets Leon over the fence in the RPD she's like "Nothing just surviving. Do you have any keys in those fancy pockets?" When I played the game for the first time and saw that scene I literally said "No fcking way. This is some RE1 1996 acting"

Looks like only maybe 55-60% of the game was actually made. Didn't even bother making new models for the zombies. Nemesis barely has a presence, which is unforgivable, as that's basically the whole fucking point of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (remember when Nemesis was including in RE3's title?). It's a damn shame that Mr. X (which should have been humiliated in performance by Nemesis by inconceivable margins) serves as a far better pursuer.

Ugh RE2r also removed big things from original including canon scenarios, zapping system, street sections, marshalling yard, multiple enemies, and a mediocre soundtrack, oh and unnecessary character changes. So no, Capcom turning things around has never happened. Business as usual.

This is why I suggest another RE3 Remake. However, they would need to make it with the same mechanics as Alien: Isolation. For example:
1. Nemesis is invulnerable and he's constantly hunting you.
2. Loud noises like gunfire and explosions attract his attention.
3. Attracting his attention initiates a ruthless pursuit and alerting him will result in an attack or even an instant death. He would need to be completely invulnerable for at least half the game.
4. Add stealth mechanics to silently kill zombies. Add hiding places, environmental hazards, distractions, and crafting to make things like smoke bombs, molotovs, trip bombs, etc. Add silencers for certain weapons and weapons like the crossbow.
5. Game progression involves finding items, finding resources, and crafting items that will help unlock parts of the map. Unlocking more of the map unlocks more hiding places, shortcuts, more ways to escape, and more ways to fight back.
6. The more you unlock and the further you progress, the map will just keep getting bigger and bigger. As the map gets bigger, the whole map will be one big non-stop hunting ground.
7. As the map opens up and you are allowed to start backtracking for previously locked areas, chests, lockers, safes, etc. You will start acquiring weapons to start actually fighting nemesis head on. In the end, you will only be able to stun him, knock him out, or make him flee temporarily, and higher difficulties will have less and less resources.
8. Harder difficulties will increase Nemesis's damage, speed, vision, and awareness. They will have less resources, less hiding places, and less available shortcuts. Like in Alien: Isolation, the AI will get smarter and smarter to the point where it adapts to your play style. If you use certain items, hiding places, or escape routes too often, the AI will adapt.
9. The AI will really be impressive. You will not be able to stay in one place forever. You have to always be on the move. Nemesis will guard important areas, block shortcuts, check hiding spots, and investigate the area. On higher difficulties, it will even be alerted by small signs of your presence like a door left open or a freshly killed zombie.
10. Learning the Nemesis's habits, you will be able to use these things against him. For example, after killing a zombie break a window, turn on a radio, activate a car alarm, or throw a flare in that area. When Nemesis goes to investigate the sound then he will also investigate the zombie allowing you to distract it for longer periods of time.

They cut way too much stuff out of the game. Removed costumes, removed entire sections of the game, and (the worst offense in my opinion) they removed Mercenaries. The game just does not offer enough content unless you are interested in 100% completion.
Compare that to RE2 Remake which gave you 4th Survivor, Tofu, Claire/Leon’s campaign (depending on who you did first), as well as the A/B scenarios (even though those were Lacking This game gives you...more difficulties...that’s it. compare it to 2002 REmake which offered costumes, Invisible Enemy, the realistic Item Box, One Dangerous Zombie, etc...An 18 year old game offers more variety than a $60 game in 2020 and that is stupid

Agree with the Jill character. This just my opinion and from my childhood memory while playing RE3 back in PS1. In my memory Jill was just overall chill with her reaction in the RE3 game and at the same time she have the combination of caring and sweet in her tone while interacting with other people in that outbreak. She's not trying to sound badass or uptight like in the R3make and yes I blame it to the writing of her lines and also the voice actress for the way she delivers, again trying too hard to sound badass like she doesn't need anyone everytime she talks. I love the new face model though, her face looks badass enough without saying those cringe lines.

I just played the intro, and stopped playing just to absorb it. In 5 minutes Jill meets Nemesis, Brad, and Carlos all in one long interactive cutscene? Feels more like a Michael Bay film than a survival horror game. I also hate how the characters say f*ck or f*ckface a lot, it just feels a bit cringe.
The game's length has nothing to do with greed or trying to keep to an annual schedule. The game is deliberately short so that you will breeze through it and then move onto the multiplayer game quickly. They want you playing that because it's where all the microtransactions live. The RE3 remake was just a trojan horse to get the multiplayer game onto your HDD.
Re3make was rushed because PS5 was comming out. They wouldn’t have been able to-use any assets from RE2make on the ps5.

1 remake is a boring game that reused 80% of the OG contents and if you already played the OG then the 1remake didn't give you much of fresh stuffs. It seems like you're confused remaster with remake. 1remake is more of a remaster than remake.
RE3 was one of my favourite RE games, so I was disappointing as hell with this. I can't see why you would remove so much content from the original, then cull the features which provided replay value, and then think that would be okay. No live selection, no branching paths, no mercenaries mode. They cut too many corners and the laziness shows. The only brand new location is the damn hospital and the piazza where you fight Dog Nemesis. Every other location in this game featured in RE2. The streets (albeit less so), the sewers and NEST. Capcom weren't even smart or subtle about the cut content or the asset reuse.
It's a mess.

There really is a ridiculous lack of content in RE3R. Only one playthrough worth. The bonus shop and challenges are just artificial “extra content”. In RE2R you had 4 playthroughs worth of content, ghost survivors, the 4th survivor, tofu survivor. All the content and more from the original. But I’m this there’s less. No live selection, no extra endings, no mercenaries, no reason to replay. It’s a one and done game.
Jill should have gone to the police station. Period.
Nemesis should've had the ai of the xenomorphs from isolation and then amped up by 100 (imagine hiding from nemesis at times if you thought you had to like the evil within, hold your breath, if he finds you bad luck, or setting traps to stall nemesis and run instead of a poncy grenade taking him out like the joke he is in this remake. I didn't even finish the game and stopped at 2nd to last boss it's that underwhelming and sad what they did to this).

For me Resident Evil Revelations 2 is one of the most underrated games in the series.
It has a good enough story, perfect controls and the Raid Mode is the BEST Arcade style ("RPG") shooter Capcom has ever done! Seriously I have over 100 hours in Raid Mode only and it's still great! :)
Another thing I noticed about RE Revelations 2 is that the interplay between Claire/Moira levels and Barry/Natalia levels actually does a decent job at emulating the original RE2’s zapping system and the original RE3’s branching paths. Heck, even that part where you get to choose whether Claire or Moira finishes off the boss reminds me of that one live-selection choice in original RE3, which would determine the ending you get.
And I even love how Natalia the little can ax help fight and is not just helpless
So glad many people (except the resident evil exclusive channels on UA-cam) are now aware that re3make was shite. Just a pity few recognised that re2remake was just a okay game. Until now. Many are off reevaluating the game after playing re3make and realising a few home truths that I got shit for this time last year

I know that the 2019 version of RE2 is not supposed to be exact remaster of the original RE2. But keep in mind that the “Memories of a Lost City” chapters in The Darkside Chronicles can also be considered a reimagining of RE2’s story, even more so, yet it still had the effort to include all of the original’s various enemies and recreate a decent amount of soundtracks for the amount of levels it had.

In OG player could see character's thoughts on many things and that added another level of atmosphere. They didn't know how to make scary game so they made Mr. X as pursuer which was stupid because having enemy that cannot be hurt ruins game and turns her into running and X cannot catch player even when player is almost dead.
OG Mr. X was better showing randomly in B scenario when player didn't expect him and he often cornered player forcing you to fight and use supplies or try to run and be beaten. His final form was far more deadlier than in Remake with claws on both hands and speed could kill player very fast.

Tank controls and fixed camera were better because Over the shoulder camera give player too much control and player can become elite SWAT member because that perspective is too easy

RE2remake ruined characters like Kendo, Ben, Irons and Birkin who in sequence how he got infected act like child who's parents didn't buy toy he wanted. OG Birkin was normal and cold prepared to defend G virus with his life while in Remake he is horrible. Irons had mystery because he acted nice normal and then character discover that he was serial killer.

He should be enemy that attacks every now and then but must be defeated, not indestructible crap and can be stopped with flash granade. He was also turned into joke

We also didn't have a recap of RE1 like the original RE2 had. The remake brought new players and yet Capcom didn't even bother to get them up to speed. Not good when the intro to the Re3 remake mirrors the opening to the first Evil Within. Imagine if they had just waited a bit and released Re2&3 remakes on one disc as a three campaign (or even 4, Leon/Claire/Jill/Caros) game, would’ve been hard to complain.
In my opinion this game should’ve been a spiritual successor of dead rising. Imagine the game had a limit till raccoon city is blown up. And through each day you deal with the undead,nemesis, and maybe hostile survivors. And as jill you need to escape the city and find evidence to build a case on umbrella. Through each day the city gets worse and worse. You can witness the fall of the police station and other events we would want to see.
Capcom isn't the same that's why, I think they sold it off or their designers directors and artists left the scene that's why Jill and the rest look different than RE4 RE5 and 6. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out that Capcom aren't the same when their models and character designs are worst than the prequels before RE5 and 6.

Even CGI movies captured Claire's looks perfectly while New claire have different cheeks, eye brows, different forehead and nose. Nice video man! I also fully completed all of the records in the game and still felt underwhelmed. Although I did enjoy my first playthrough, upon reflection it did not stand up well against RE2 Remake. Went back and played RE2 Remake and BOY what a difference! There are points of enjoyment from both games but RE2 Remake is the better package. Would still recommend this game to newcomers of the franchise, especially if they enjoyed RE2 Remake. Keep it up bro!

Anyone else on a res 3 remake review marathon great reviewer btw you earned my subscription every time someone points out what they left out and wasted in this game makes me cry inside the original was one of the first horror games or horror anything I experienced it was like something else I was only 9 but it has such a over 18 horror and uncanny creepy vibe and this doesn't even come close to that it's an insult!

did you play the re3 remake and re3 original back to back, and then play re2 original and remake. Then you'd know why did he say that. RE2 properly respected the original games setting, story, characters and everything. RE3R completely disrespects the original. RE3R is not a reimagining or a remake, its a reboot even though capcom false advertised it as a remake. RE3 Remake cut everything from the original, all the areas (as he said, none of the areas resemble the original like RE2R did), mercenaries mode, live selection, all the puzzles from the original are gone and replaced with baby puzzles, nemesis barely showed up unlike the original, removed all the iconic moments from the original and so much more.
@@shreyasbytes6621 no. Re2 didnt get that respect. The characters especially were changed a lot in their presentation visually but also their dialog and personality. The music was disrespected with re2, at least re3r did good on that! The setting was half done, they did good with the RPD but it was so dark and boring for half of it, they left out marshaling yard area and could have centered a portion of the game around it, the lab was also way changed from the original making it more typical sci fi look. They enemies were disrespected, no evolved lickers, no spiders, the G mutant was made into a common enemy. I could go on and on but the biggest disrespect is the lack of a proper scenario system, which was the major appeal of OG re2 and was something used in other games to a degree like CVX, Zero, Re4 with a separate ways campaign, and RE6
What game was there, I loved, which makes it all the more painful how much was cut and how Nemesis was neutered. Such a waste of potential.
