Oh Thomas, you need to work on your technique if you want a girlfriend 😂 Thanks Malcolm for another fab episode of life on a nursery. My list of plants to buy is getting longer and longer.... and I'm really getting into trees at the moment and you've shown us some fantastic specimens over the months. So, you still can't persuade Lisa to get in front of the camera? It makes me smile when she does a quick disappearing act once the camera is on her. Thanks as always to all at Barthélemy Maples... lovely to have updated from them. Hope you have a good week
Another great video, and the garden is looking lovely. I expect the rain was welcome, I know my garden needed it badly. Please keep us updated on Sunnyside when you get round to making a start on it, some lovely plants in there.
Although not a jealous person by nature, I am green with envy at your beautiful plants and this stunning place. Another garden for my bucket list if I ever make it to the UK. And I promise I will never whinge about the cost of plants again, seeing how much goes into the growing of each and every tiny plant. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Best wishes from Australia.
I know the week goes fast but now I am awaiting on you chatting about all things smutty or gardening related I just can’t believe we are at week 23😁 Just love learning about everything within the nursery and naturally I have bought plants you have recommended 😉 Toby was very sweet and hopefully we will see him again while you travel around with your camera. Keep safe from those customers 😬
YES!! Please DO continue filming when you ‘retire’ and start working in Sunnyside. I rarely comment but have really enjoyed these videos. Ps. My body is getting tired too but we still drag ourselves out into the garden every day and do more than is really a good idea. 😂
I was always in the garden with my dad back in the late 60s through to the 80s in England. Now I have garden all my own in Sweden and I use the knowledge my dad taught me all those years ago
Hi Melcomb great video, we went to Barthelemy today picked up a few more Acers lovely place ... the little birds nest in the fir tree you sold what were they? The delights of a Monday night thank you ...
As always, thank you for the video. Perhaps, next planting, put the peas in the middle and plant radishes around the outside? Looking forward to watching you sculpt your enchanted garden. Take care and stay well.
Hello to all of you, yet another cracking little episode today, never been much of a gardener but your episode’s are amusing and informative and have caught my attention, very good and the mrs loves the dogs, from a couple of soft southern shit’s from Bournemouth. Keep us both laughing ,
LOL prolly I'm not saying anything you don’t already know but after you put the rooting hormone on the stem maybe try using the pointy green thing on the cover to poke the hole in the grit and put the stem in. That way the rooting hormone doesn’t get bushed off.
Thanks another fab episode. Thomas,s niggle at Clara at the start ,is she going to have the opportunity to respond? My list of plants also increases for purchase. Looks a brilliant nursery will have to make the journey when everything settles down a bit. You mention about retirement, next year who's going to run the nursery? and will we still have the weekly updates from the nursery as well s your own garden.
Great videos, the information is brilliant! Could you explain a bit more about Plant Breeders Rights in one of your episodes, why do some plants have restrictions and other don't. Many thanks👍
Got to admit i was trying not to shout at the screen when you planted those courgettes, too many in the pot? I await to see how they turn out and be proved wrong. I expect you will come out with some bullshit about only wanting tiny todgers anyway!
🙋hi from Scotland ,I just love watching your vidios what a fantastic place you have I don't usually comment but wanted to ask what is the best way to feed lupins and peonys ,if I could work somewhere I would choose to work in your gardens thank you for sharing your vidios if people want unusual plants yours is the place to come stay safe take care Anne Scott from Scotland
Hello Anne.....that’s actually a really good question.......I’m not sure why you would want to feed either of them, unless they are suffering and looking impoverished Posh way of saying hungry).....different leaf problems and colours can signify different deficiencies......so if they are not suffering just mulch well in March with either leafmold, compost, or very well rotted manure. Lupins tend to fix much of their own nitrogen so they will be ok for that....also if slugs are a problem keep manure away from the crown of lupins....I.m not sure which part of Scotland you live in, but I know some areas have light sandy soil which may not be great for either of those plants.....Lupins, or a version of....have been used as green manure for many years....they have long tap roots that get right down into the subsoils pulling in nutrients from well down....they are then plugged or dug in the top soil....this was done where land was left fallow (unused) for a year to improve the soil.....originally in agriculture but in gardens also in the past along with stuff like mustard. If it’s a quick fix you want, stench your plants with Maxicrop....the one that includes sequestered iron in its formulation....between that and mulching you should get some prize blooms or my names turnip. Best wishes....Malcolm
@@plantsmanscorner128 hi Malcom thank you so much for your information I have had peonys for years and they stopped flowering and do did my lupins I was not sure if they just needed feeding I had it in my head that lupins did not like manure but will do what you suggested and see what happens take care stay safe look forward to your next amazing vidio Anne Scott from Scotland I live bang in the middle between Glasgow and Edinburgh
Anne Scott ....I spent the first six years of my life in Scotland.....Grandfather had a Croft on Mull, and a water bailiffs house in Glenniffer Braes near Paisley.....we sort of swapped between the two seasonally while my father was away onboard the Arkroyal. I don’t remember much before moving to West Sussex (nearer to Portsmouth)....The old man only spoke Gaelic, but really never said much ever while sober....he had been through a lot I think, two wars and was obsessed by thrift and food because they had been very poor and very hungry at times. I cannot relate to what he will have been through, so I have always been forgiving of his hard, rather bigoted ways. He was the only person I have ever met who was totally unlovable...but he was my grandfather.....very best wishes Anne.....Malcolm
@@plantsmanscorner128 🙋hi Malcom I know where Glenniffer braes are I was brought up outside paisley there is a country park there it is a nice place stay safe take care malcom and thank you for taking the time to answer my comment
Will Clara be back soon, or are you having to bring your staff back one at a time as you can afford the wages? I've only seen Thomas so far. Have any of them left to find other work? Nothing is guaranteed at times like this, must be really difficult for you.
I wish we had sweet little garden animals like hedge hogs over here. I have mice and voles and rabbits and possum and raccoons and they're all bastards. Oh, can't forget the woodchucks. they're bastards too.
@@laurenb6451 Thankfully we do not have bears. We do have coyotes and we have all three sizes of cats, bobcats, lynx and mountain lion. But I'm happy to say they seem to stay out of the sugar snap peas. LOL
I made my veg garden fortified vs most critters. The fence is 4’ high and has a 1’ wide baffle around the top. There is a 14” trench with aluminum flashing attached to the bottom (trench filled back in). I spray the place where I grow saffron with castor oil & dish soap to repel voles and we got our first saffron harvest (16 stamens! Hoo ha). So far no incursions in 2 years. Deer have ‘t jumped in yet but I do spritz with Liquid Fence for when they do. 🌱😉
Like I said in the last video I would work for you for free , since that’s not going to happen can you send me some of those lupin seeds ? Thanks Can you ship to Canada? Thanks Malcolm
Another great vid. Nice to see buisness coming back to normal. Those pines were looking a bit sprucey a few videos ago too! 😂 I thought conifers were lost on you Malcom. Obviously you do like them :) Absolutely awesome to see your garden. Great bits on transpiration, nibblers and bearded irises from Thomas... Thomas, ignore Malcom, pressure for relations with women generally comes from guys who want company in their misery or gobetween gals who want to enslave you to their friends! #MGTOW 😂
Amazing how quick that veg grows. Thanks Malcolm look forward to your own garden series if you get a chance next year 👍

Explain Malcolm the litres in containers if somebody says it's 30 litres how big is it
