It’s so cool how the coils go from this tight and tiny to expanded locs. I’m in the faze right now of starter coils and I loved watching your photos I know every ones journey is different but I’m excited to see mine at this faze. My hair was about the same length and density with coils as your images but again I’m excited to see my outcome from my journey thank u for the vid.
Right!!! My locs amaze me everyday!!! And it's crazy to think they get thicker and thicker as time goes on!

Our hair is magical.
This video came at the right time. A LOT of insecurity. My locs are so short and prior to locing, I stayed with waist length protective styles. I felt like a goddess. The frizz, the awkward length. Everything you’ve said it what I’m feeling lol.
I’m new to the Loc community about a month in with 1 retwist. I totally understand your insecurities. I love your hair and I can’t wait till mine grow a bit myself and I no I should love the stage I’m in and I’m trying to do that.
Started mine because I got bored of the loose hair, like you I compared mine to others, and it sometimes stole my joy. But I grew to understand everybody’s hair is different, and that’s a great thing. Your hair is amazing, keep it fun, the “ugly” parts get easier with time at least for me. Ong!!! I have finally found my loc journey twin!!! I know your video is 2 months old and you’re a few more months in, but I’m currently at 6 months!! I stories aren’t almost identical right down to the hair texture! I just need to get my color, which I was told to wait a year! I have so much gray and that color , I believe , will boost my confidence! I want nutmeg or some dark burnt orange! Thanks for sharing!! I swear I’ve been looking through so many videos and never saw one story close to mine! Phew!! Keep sharing! A sister could use the support! Your hair is beautiful by the way!🥰

i never heard you hve to wait a year to get a color for your hair my friend got locs she colored her the next retwist which was a months later and it came out beautiful 😍

I just started my locs for the 4th time and I chose comb coils and triangle parts too and when I say I’m TERRIFIED of washing my hair too 🤣🤣 when I started with two strands and box parts I had no problem with wetting my hair and retwisting my own hair but now it’s a no for me lol straight to my loctitian I go…at least for the first year
Right!!! I was afraid my lil parts we're going to wash away 😩 but I washed it for the 1st time after 6 month 😅

It was about 115ish
I’m roughly 2 months and 2 weeks into my Starter loc journey . I have about 73 locs kind of nervous that’s not enough
I had this same thought too when first getting mine! Just google "73 locs" and look at the ways the locs look. I sometimes look at my head (roughly 120 locs) and still think I should've gotten more. BUT after googling what 120 locs look like over time I know I made the right decision! 🌱🤍
i just cut my hair AGAIN !! 😭🙄 four months ago and i wanna loc it so bad but i’m worried i’ll look so silly in the beginning stages because of how short the locs will be when i start off
Noooo don't think like that! I did the big chop for the 2nd time last year in June so my was still really short when I started my locs! It'll make you appreciate that journey a lot more! And there's always protective still you can do until you achieve the length you want!

How long after the initial twist is it ok to wash it
Honestly different stylist say different things. I think it really depends on your hair texture. But I personally waited a few months before washing it myself. I let me stylist wash my hair
How many locs do you have? I have 63 and i was very discouraged about the amout. I exactly 3 weeks in with the comb coil method. My hair is fine, soft and very curly especially at the root as well as thin around the right side of edges. 🤦🏾♀️ i have retangle parts and I'm going to back and restart with square parts
Hey!! So I have roughly 120 locs! What's making you discouraged about your locs? I also have very fine, soft, and curly hair, which I was also nervous about getting 120 locs because I didn't think they'd thicken up enough to look right, but I was SOOOO wrong! I have a few locs that are thin around my edges also! Black castor oil helps a ton!! Well I hope with this new set of locs you get what you really want!! 🤍

I used to think every black person should get locs but I forgot how anti black the community really is. I don’t think some of you guys need to get locs. Y’all hate type 4 hair, frizz, short hair. Basically anything that isn’t loose curly and close to yt as possible. I think most of you guys need to stick to the wigs and the aesthetic that you actually love. It’s so depressing to want videos of people talking about their journey only for them to put there insecurities and shame onto an already anti black space.
I think it is refreshing to hear our true hair journeys. We all have insecurities, I am sure this will help those feelings the same way to embraced their hair anyway. I don't think it is a hate of "4 hair", she is explaining the difference between wearing naturally curly hair and the transition from the finger coil to locking. I applaud 👏🏾 the openness and her truth. Please be excited for her embracing this transition not depressed.🤗
