After watching this countless times, I finally got the courage to have a go at it. My alloys were completely ruined. I have restored maybe 80 % of them as I have missed some spots and made a few mistakes. However, the learning and experience were really worth it. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos ❤.
Hi mate. Plenty more coming. I've pretty much done with the wheels now. Got a cool scuffed headlight repair video and a textured bumper repair video lined up next 👍🏼
@@cvrpov cheers wheels exactly not great to do I think the only proper way to fix sandblasting start from scratch did mine that way was longer but it better work to come cheers mate.👍
I see so many videos showing this technique. You can get reasonable looking results with this, but if you’re sanding out deep gouges or scratches in the rim, you will be changing the contours and shape of it. You can even see this happening in the video here - as you’re sanding the rim, you’re creating flat areas. So what happens a few months down the line when the rims are full of scratches and scuff marks again?
@@cvrpov Agreed the results look good this time round, but you're taking away material to bring it down to the same level as the scuffs. You can only do that so many times.
What a find this channel is. 👏 fantastic work and instruction. I have black Revere wheels with curb scuffs....anything additional I should consider? Thanks in advance 🙏
Thanks for the great videos! I did sort-of my own method using what i learned from your videos. Heres a video i made doing my Camaro wheel that sat in the sun and the clear failed. It looks much better now than it did. ua-cam.com/video/4zLbdfNQN7g/v-deo.html

Great video. I understand that the wheels get, hot, wet etc. so how long lasting are these results
Excellent 👍🏻
which clear coat can should i use for some for some aluminum wheels
I like 2k clears mate. You can get them in aerosol. I use my normal 2k clear diamond clear from express paints on alloys
@@cvrpov thank you man 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Can this be carried out whilst the wheel is on (not removed and separated from the car)?
Hello again are you using a lph80 spray gun and what size fluid nozal you using also do you use it for clear ? Thank you I forgot to ask you last time
I use an lph 80 1.2 for base and a devilbiss sri pro 1.2 for lacquer
Very helpful video! I really need to do this on my wheels. Did I hear your cat or am I imagining things? Haha.
Haha no thats my noisy 3 yr old boy
After heavy prime coat, sand with P600 before finally painting? Right?
Nice job. This will be very helpful on my 20” Cratus XC90 wheels. Thanks
Great stuff thanks for watching
Hello, how do you correct lacquer peal around the wheel bolt area?
Sand and paint
Did you dry or wet sand the primer?
Here to try and figure out how to repair my cobalt ss wheels. Car has been VERY neglected!
Hopefully my videos can help
Where do you get the paints for the gun?
Paint shops
Your voice sounds familiar. Do you also do the voice-over on the Triumph herald rebuilds?
No but I might check them out to see if i agree 😅
How many days after refurb can I drive the car again? Great vedio by the way mate!

Whete you get discs please

What about covering painted surfaces on the back of the wheel.
Yes this helps the overall finish
Is this an all day activity?
Can be

Yeah agreed but if your bashing your alloys up that regularly and that badly.. you perhaps need to review ur driving ability
Is it necessary to paint the entire wheel if only the edge has damage?
no, check my latest wheel repair video in wheel repair playlist

that will be headache to balance
should wire brush and bondo it
Dear god, watch out for cutting into your tyres if you do it this way. Pretty wheels aren't worth losing your life for !
Its the backing pad shredding not the tyre

Good effort mate thanks for watching
you're sanding the tire, that's definitely something that I won't recommend.
It's actually the backing pad taking the brunt of the damage not the tyre. Trust me as I've worn down dozens of them
👍@@cvrpov
I’ll keep the scratches
Makes me wonder why/how this video even found you and even more so why did you proceed to watch it 😅👌🏼
@@cvrpov I thought I could fix it quick and easy 😭 but it’s so much harder than I thought 😂😅
worst company
Why thankyou
