Great review, I concur with everything you say. I’ve owned numerous big bikes over the years and wanted to downsize. After many test rides on smaller bikes, I finally chose the mt 03. I was surprised how much fun it was to ride. It may be a “budget bike” compared to others I’ve owned but it delivers more smiles per mile than any of them.

Ordered mine yesterday I'm 5'5" 65yrs old, 45yrs on bikes, up to 1200 cc, fed up with struggling with weight and tall Ness! Had a quick go on one and loved it.
Okei im going to be completely honest.I was in the official Mt tour of Yamaha that took place in Thessaloniki Greece.I drove that little beast and im gonna say 1 thing.When i stepped of the bike the general managaer told me you see boy from the smile i see on your face, i can say for sure that we the people of yamaha, we dont sell bikes , we sell emotions. And he was soooooooooooooooooo right!!!Thanks Yamaha for the amazing exprerience with MT 03

Yamaha's newer colourway of dark grey & turquoise is nice, but would look better with this lighter ice grey colour imo 👌🏻
Yes, I quite agree, I’ve got the ice grey and it always attracts complements. It’s also a perfect match to my spidi jacket and trousers !
I have the Shadow version of this bike. Solid black. It is nice. I love it. I can hit triple digits in no time on it. The only downfall this bike has is where I live, the wind can get pretty nasty pretty quickly. We had wind today out of the South (the way I had to go to college classes) at 22mph eith gusts of up to 65mph. I thought, "Well. That sucked." I couldn't get past 80mph on the bike. Then I thought, "The ride back will be better cause I'll have the wind at my back out of the south!" Well. The wind shifted out of the North. So, I fought the wind all the way back home. I tell you. When I hit the road heading east to west and west to east, the lean angle to stay straight became pretty crazy at times. The bike weighing in at only 370 pounds makes it pretty susceptible to being pushed around by crosswinds. Other than that, I love this bike. It is an absolute blast. Plus, the bike is insanely nimble. You can throw this bike around so easily. I whip corners much faster on this bike than on bikes that are larger. Also, correcting while maneuvering through traffic is so much easier. The visibility on the mirrors is fair. The panel is bright and easy to read, and the bike is very responsive. I like the longer throttle on this bike as it makes it easier to control speed than a short throttle. I like that I actually have a fuel guage and liquid cooling with fuel injection. Makes riding so much easier, especially if you are sitting at a stop light for a bit in the heat. The cooling fan helps a lot and I don't have to kill my bike while sitting there. Overall, it is a great bike. I'd recommend it to anyone.
I’ve owned a few bikes, including a 1000, I have recently owned a 2015 R3, and bought a 2023 MT-03 last month, both are quick enough, and so nimble in traffic! I may add a new R3 to my garage soon to keep the MT03 company, I don’t really see a need for a larger bike anymore.

You have to pass your A2 test on a 395cc + size bike to ride this. A great bike.
I bought the mt03 as a second bike to do miles on i don't want to use my main bike for. But to be honest, i grab it more and more and for long rides with my bike club as well. I will not sell my Shadow but it is a lot of fun to ride that Yamaha.
Hey, any chance you could do a review on a Kawasaki z650...I'm looking at a2 license bikes and I'm torn between an mt-03 and a z650 :D

Can't wait until I'm 19 and get the A2 done, you can finance them for pretty cheap if you find a good deal, on auto trader something around £50 a month. Cheers for the insightful video mate 👍

Great review thanks. Just one question. Is this bike good for the motorways. Good over taking speed and power going from 70 to 80 pushing 90 or will it feel like a sack of shit doing that?
Nah, you'll be fine. It will do a bit over a 100. But up to 80 will be done pretty fast.

@@MiguelBorgesphotography my Honda SH125 is about to hit 50,000 miles. That cost a lot less on a 125 than pretty much any other bike. Does about 130 to the gallon.

Great review! What is your inseam? I'm around 5'6 as well and considering picking up the bike in a few month
I'm 5'8 with a very short 31 inch inseam. I found this little bike extremely comfortable for short riders. In fact this is a shorty boy only bike. Six footers are going to feel cramped.
thanks for the reply! I was on the fence between this one and z400, seems like mt03 is the way to go.
@@PHiNg2705 I also sat on a z400 and can confirm the MT 03 fit especially my lower body better.
You could probably comfortably ride either however. If possible find one of each to sit on.
I feel like first, second, and third gear are really slow on this bike but fourth gear has enough power to get it up to 100km
I don't own that bike but I saw a video of one guy riding in NYC he likes to abuse 1st and 2nd gear only and those first 2 gears dont look like slow ............

It's simply the styling of the bike, bit of difference between that and physical and verbal aggression.
Aggressive looks often consists of sleek lining paired with slitted lights. That type of look is very very appealing for many people
