- Kalie and Branden split up for this road trip with Branden flying from Denver, CO to Phoenix, AZ to pick up a 2017 Tesla Model X 100D to road trip all the way from Phoenix to Connecticut and rendezvous with Kalie in her 2015 Tesla Model S 70D at some point along the route. One of my favorite differences between watching these videos as a Tesla fan versus a Tesla owner is appreciating the occasional super charger location reviews that come up. We stopped at the Independence, MO super charger twice during our MN-OK-MN trip. The first time at 2:30am while it was raining on the way down to Oklahoma. There wasn't much to do while waiting for a charge. On the return trip, it was during business hours. We talked with a few other Tesla owners (also model Y) and spent a little time in the Bass Pro shop. We also aren't big into hunting/fishing, but it was an interesting place to poke around and visit their restrooms. I ended up buying some shirts and we were surprised by how many snacks they had for sale. Turned out to be a very nice stop! Oh, we also were asked if wanted a membership and if we wanted to buy into their time share thing. It was easy enough to brush off the sales people. Nice place.
Welcome to Connecticut! Hotels call the area South Hartford region to make it sound closer to Hartford than it actually is (marketing). I'm in the town actually called Wethersfield, which is one town north of Rocky Hill! By the way, it turns out Hampton Garden Inn in Rocky Hill has Tesla destination chargers, but as you probably noticed, we are blessed with plenty of Superchargers across the state (my wife and I both have Model 3's). Hope you enjoy your stay!

I am finally back on the road in my old p85 model S. I drove over 1,000 miles in a week. Yes the charging takes longer but with the entertainment on the mcu2 it’s all good.
🤣 Loved the switch to country in the middle. Great trip video and fun to see your different routes to meet.

We went to the Gateway Arch and .. it was bad. We used a parking garage that looked like the concrete was crumbling. It was a cool bucket list item, but probably not going back again.
We’ll just admire it from afar next time as we drive by 😂

The construction spaghetti in Hays was no joke.
And was still a thing for our ID.4 trip!

Hey any tips on your seat adjustments? Being on the road a lot I can imagine your backs don’t hurt from time to time? (Your height, lumbar support? Etc) please
Not really any tips that can be conveyed over text… I prefer a more upright seating position with quite a bit of lumbar support, but a lot of seating comfort comes down to personal preference.
I am in the hotel business it’s so funny I could name the brand by the rooms. Lol.
We’re not even in the hotel business and can usually do the same just from staying in so many rooms 😂
