For those that don't know, his dad is Gary Scruggs and his grandfather is the legendary banjo player Earl Scruggs
HOW COOL...I NEVER KNEW THAT AND IM FROM NASHVILLE--THANKS FOR THE INFO
His mother is the country singer songwriter Gail Davies.
and here I thought he was out of one of them Punk Rockin
Scruggs'
Chris is so talented on the lap steel, the electric guitar, acoustic guitar, upright acoustic bass, and bass guitar.
This guy’s great - an accomplished musician and an encyclopedia of country music.
If I could meet any musician in the world, it would be brother Chris Scruggs. What a fantastic musician!
What a great dude. Ullllllltra talented in so many ways. I his blood as they say. 👍🍺🇺🇸👊
Chris seems to be such a nice human, there’s not many of us left….
Met Chris and Marty and the boys in Bakersfield,Chris had that steel smoking, blew me away!
The segment he plays starting at 6:24 is sooooo sweet. Touch, tone, phrasing... Masterful slanting and intonation. ♥
he is a fantastic musician.... plays alot with suzy bogguss .... saw them last year @ the rose theater in forsyth ga !!!!!
That last lick was Hank Williams Lovesick Blues from 1948. Jimmie Rodgers also used it in the 1930's.
It's time for another interview with Chris!!!!!
This is just wonderful. Thank you so much!
Great artist awesome live
His style is Grand !
ho well i wish to played that for long times . good instruments to have !! thanks !!
Chris is awesome
Scratch the earlier comment re D-76. What looked like star inlays are dots that are video quality fuzzy. (Saw it again at first part of vid - definitely dots.) That box also looks a lot older than '76.
Lovely !!!!! Very cool player. You can’t find here in Germany
that would be "cousin" Kenny Vaughn from the superlatives
Is that a Martin D-76 he's playing at the end? Can't see the headstock to see if the eagle is there, but I do see stars as fretboard markers.
I'm curious about what happened to the guy that used to play steel with BR 549 I think his name was Mark Chris is a wonderful player for sure.
@1:40 who is the guitarist that backs him?? I have seen him, I think, in "the Supurlatives"
Kenny Vaughn
He is the closest style steel guitar player to Bobby Stegall. I love the sound of the C steel.
chrshammer o
What brand strings do ya get for your guitar?
He didn't mention his father.
I'm sure that's an interview all on its own
And his father's obituary didn't mention him. I don't get the impression that his father was in his life.
The guitar picking sound reminds me of Chet Atkins.
He has his granddads ear.
So, isn't his last name Scruggs, or am I wrong about that?
You know, as in Earl, Randy, and Stevie?
He's Earl's grandson
Gary Scruggs is his dad
Wow. A monster.
Let's be honest Chris. Its a Hawaiian guitar. Nothing to be ashamed of.
