- The Indian Motorcycle Key Fob allows you to start your bike. But what happens if there is an issue. What are the causes and how do you avoid it happening. There are no notifications but i have found scenarios where you may pick up some early warnings. Now this is not official advise, just my experience and something that may help you.

On my Springfield, when my key fob battery is low, the bike starts and runs fine but the battery indicator on the bike instrument panel blinks. I checked the owners manual and it confirmed a blinking battery indicator means key fob battery is running low and could use a change soon (a non blinking solid battery light on the bike means the bike’s battery is low).
The ultimate backup is the passcode. Works beautifully to start the bike and to lock/unlock the saddlebags :)
Absolutely mate. The main is just making sure u have it. Someone I know got stuck without it today. Next video will demonstrate how to cover all that. Great that ur getting on with it though. 👍🏻😁
Also your battery light will flash on your dash. Battery light flashes means key, battery light stays on means bike battery.

Nice of you to demo the key fob Battery replacement. However it would have been Helpful to position the Camera so one could Actually See what you were doing. I understand what & how, but for those who don't, the camera angle is key to exactly what you're doing. You meant well. .
I tell all my customers about the pin and show them how to do it but you'd be amazed how many forget! Haha
Yeah that’s a good thing. Goon on ya. The next video will deal with the pin especially with the older bikes where you don’t simply enter on the screen. May not be riveting but it gives me something to do!
Yes sir, I've had it happen to me, and if you lose your phob,or the battery goes dead, there's usually a pass code for your bike, you can just type in the code on your bike and then it will start that way as well, thanks for sharing brother 💯✌️😎

I have a 2019 Indian Chief Vintage, My problem isn't with the key fob but rather the receptor in the bike that no longer recognizes the signal from the fob, My bike is at my Indian dealers shop now for repairs on this issue, I just hope it is covered under the warranty. I don't know how this happened? Should I keep the fob in my house away from my bike when I park it in my garage? It is cold in the garage during the Winter months and I was told the fob should be at least 25 feet from the bike when it is not being rode because the fob communicates with the bike, Don't know how true that is? 🐺
Change main every 12 month, and make sure you have the pin number.

I had to get a new one. The connection was bad bike was shutting off mid ride. And or wouldn’t start

Keep a spare battery in the saddlebags!

Hi Med. What bike do you have. If you have the ride command system all you do is press the start stop button. It will say key fob not found. Then in your service book there is a security code. Enter that code and you can start your bike. If you have a non ride command bike you can also start it using the code. This time enter the code using the indicator. If the code is 1112 start with left once, right once, left once and right twice. If u. Have a zero press straight down. Then start as normal. You can buy a new key fob. They just program them. Where are you based. If you don’t have a dealer let me know and I’ll see if it’s possible to get u some help.

I'm gonna rip you for this video, even though you are doing a good thing by trying to help folks.
First, and most egregiously, you didn't even mention that you can start the bike if your key FOB battery dies!
Second, did you even watch your own video? If you did, then you would have seen that anything you demonstrated with the key FOB was blocked by your hands!
That’s naturally ur right mate. It was however always the intention to do a second follow up video, I think I refer to that, demonstrating how to start the video without the fob. It was just meant to be a little tip. Truth be told I sorta stopped making videos mid pandemic hence it hasn’t been completed. You may have a point with the hands but I am an amateur and it won’t be perfect. I might do a full how to from start to finish and get someone to help me film it. Thank you for getting in touch though. Feedback always good though. Hope u and the family are safe and well.
