Bruh, Squirrel jumping + Lexus GS= Awesomeness! Headed to that 1000 sub mark, bro! Awesome video as always!
Ahh thank you man. I remember seeing your run up to. You got the last 200 quick lol.
My GS has that cold idle knock- was so worried about it- thanks for clarifying!!😊😊
Ahh yeah man. No one has ever really confirmed it was a big deal or naw, so i am here to deliver to the people lol. Thank you for watching!
my 2003 corolla has that knock too, coming from close to the brake master cylinder indeed
Love the music choice. Great video. Lovely squirrel action to add. ❤
Ahh thank you man! Glad you enjoyed the vid!!!
great video, great point.
However you forgot the infamous dash crack by the passenger airbag (2013-2017). Lexus does provide owner with 10 years/ unlimited mileage from the date of 1st use.
Yes the new part number are updated part number so they won't suffer the same fate.
Ahh omg, I forgot that one. Time you pin your comment :D
Thank you for watching always!
Another great video Eddie. Nice to let other GS owners know and have this knowledge of the common issues this car has.
ahh thank you Fonzi, I have a feeling you didn't learn anything new, I think you had your GS longer than me. Thank you for watching always!
Those air vent/check valves on either side of the trunk not only attenuate cabin pressure when someone closes a door, they also are the exhaust port for when you're highway cruising and the HVAC is providing fresh vs recirculated air. I've never had one of those things fail in any car I've owned, so I'm surprised that the ones in this car somehow allow water to get in. It's unfortunate that Lexus didn't provide one of those specialty drain ports for the low point in that side well. Those specialty drip ports create a venturi effect and siphon off any water falling into them as you drive.
ohh dude when doing research for the vid. I saw a good amount of people report it on the IS and GS. What happens is they deteriorate or fall off and that lets the water in. I think just checking it before the wet season and you'll be good to go. But thank you for adding your comments. Anyone who watches this vid will pick up your insights. As always thanks for watching Bill!
Here's an interesting tidbit about the knocking sound from the vacuum pump. My GS 350 F-Sport AWD is a 2015, and the 2013 - 2015 models do NOT have the vacuum pump. BUT, I still hear that same noise. Mine is from the high-pressure fuel pump, which is located in the same area on the valve cover. It's especially noisy at cold start, then it settles, then sometimes out of the blue that odd knocking sound happens. Seeing this and other reports about the vacuum pump noise perplexes me. As an aside, the high-pressure fuel pump is definitely noisy, even could hear it with doors and windows closed, at idle. The pump is mounted to the top of the valve cover nearest the passenger fire wall. I researched this years back and discovered that the HPFP is the same as in certain model years of the LS, and that car had a factory fitted insulation jacket on it. I was able to search for that and purchased one from a Lexus parts dealer. Several days and $50 or so later, I received it and installed it. I was very disappointed how little of the racket was reduced. Oh well, this is probably why Lexus didn't bother to fit one to the GS models.
Ahh yeah my old 2012 IS 350 also made the same noise on cold start. The 2016+ GS get it worse because you get two different knocking noises. You'll get both the vacuum pump and fuel pump. When I first bought my 2012 IS 350 I was tripping too but after putting 80k miles on the car without any issues at all, I figured if it don't sound like a sewing machine it ain't good.
My biggest problem is Emergency Electric Parking Brake going out
Very informative video! Keep up the GS 350 content please as you already know basically no new GS 350 videos :(
Ahh will do!! Got more stuff planned 😁😁want to make the best content!
Looking at one currently that has 85k. Thanks for the video..
Yeah don’t let this vid scare you lol. All the issues are already documented and honestly don’t affect all GS’s. Also no big engine problems 😁
Thanks bro! Looking to buy my GS350-f sport 2014 Friday - 110k miles for $16,999. I want to lower the price to 15-16k.
Ahh nice man! Hope this vid didn't scare you. These things don't happen to often and everything is already documented for it lol.
I ended up getting the GS-F bumper on my 2015 GS! Hopefully it looks good when it’s installed. After that I gotta polish and ceramic coat it!
brooo!!! I got so many q's lol! The diffuser is a bit different right? Are you gonna swap out your exhaust tips too? really want to see it when it is on!!!
@@EddieGS350 it’s the front bumper. I got the GS-F style one but it has the holes cut out for the fog lights on it.
@@EddieGS350this is my other account that I had planned for doing videos but I’ve been lazy. I will post of a video of the new front bumper when it’s installed and let you know!
Do itt!!! I wasn't too sure about making my YT channel but it adds another level of enjoyment on your car :)
@@EddieGS350 hell yea man I want to but I suck with talking on UA-cam videos and editing lol. I’ll still do it though!
My biggest problem is Emergency Electric Parking Brake going out on my 2018 GS 350
Ahhh damn. You’re the only one I’ve heard who has that so far. Is it not holding the car good when engaged?
@@EddieGS350 Just cant park on hills, my homie works at the lexus dealership, he said to buy the extended warranty and he can replace it for free off warranty, including suspension, engine and electrical, etc…
Awesome video, bro! I’m also assuming that these issues are issues with the IS models right?
most of these issue are exclusive to GS. The ML amp damage is the only concern on the RCF. Matter fact it so common that all Lexus are suffer from it.
I have the knocking sound problem for my 21' IS.
That’s a vacuum pump making that knock? Damn that would give me a heart attack. On the water pumps if you don’t change the coolant every 50-60k it will cause the water pump to go out. These pumps aren’t to very forgiving on delayed maintenance.
Ohh man. You can actually hear it from the inside on cold days. It really does sound like engine knock and not the typical Lexus sewing machine. Ooh I should’ve mentioned that in the vid! The good thing is changing the water pump forces you to swap the coolant lol.
Brought a 2015 gs350 in January sold it in march burning oil after 1k miles and engine is loud got 2018 es350 smooth sailing
Ooh man. You’re gonna scare everyone in the comment section 😂 it’s rare the 2gr’s burn oil. The es should take care of you for a long time.
that flap thing is probably the easiest thing to check and replace. the amp issue is talked about a lot more than the fuel pump or the dreaded X on the dash passenger side for the air bag. Still under warranty for the 2015. The blend doors...yeah that's a problem.
Ahh damn. Haven’t heard too much about the fuel pump. Hopefully I don’t hear about cause it happens to my car 👀. Looks like you got all your stuff sorted out so only thing left is to enjoy your GS 😁
Question about the shocks. I have a 2020 Fsport and if I'm in bumper to bumper traffic on a hot day for like over an hour or something I woukd hear suspension noise going over speed bumps. Have you ever experienced that?
@@slya5720 yoo slya. I had something similar. It turned out to be my front hood. It really sounded like it was coming from the shocks or rear too. Try pushing on it and see if it creaks. I tried explaining it through text but a vid was much easier lol. ua-cam.com/users/shortsiPc_9KhGrhA?feature=shared
@EddieGS350 oh man thanks!!! I'll definitely give that a try. Thanks for taking time to make the video
Let me know man. I had the same thing. I was convinced it was my suspension lol.
Now I'm scared about my AC. I live in Arizona. My 2017 350 has super weak AC. Could also just be that I was used to my old Mercedes C class. I had the whole system redone so it was ICE cold within 30 seconds of starting the car.
Ahhh is it weak on both sides? Or is one side colder than the other?
Funny thing I was nicknamed horse in middle school as per your hat \
Ahh lmao wasn't the hat of my choice, it was the only one I found available. Thank you for watching!
@@EddieGS350 Anytime Sir, your GS is king
Will it be the same for is models?
Ooh yeah, vacuum pump, 2014-2017 for the servo motors, and amp issue will affect the IS. Deff check your amp flap before the wet season and you'll be good. Most of these issues aren't super super common and the TSBs are already documented. Thank you for watching!
BMW will out accelerate the GS to the repair shop.😀
😂😂omg. I should’ve said that lol. Totally missed that moment. Thank you for watching.
What a contrast in quality of parts prices and engineering to a Toyota Corolla Hatchback. These expensive Lexus models are disastrous.
Its just what happens when you add more features and luxury to a car
ahh agreed with @ciello___8307 the amp, servo motors, fancy avs shocks all things that can go wrong. Deff not too bad but thank you both for watching!
You should invest in some Apple car play bro
Ahh man. It’s on the list lol! After wheels 😁😁
His last name is not Damn my friend
Ahh took me a while to see what you meant! It has been noted for future videos 🙏🏽
@@EddieGS350 you are a good man my friend
