      Ahh do you have AWD? I know the AWDs sit higher than the RWDs. I deff wouldn't get springs on AWD. Every review I have seen for springs on AWD have not been good in terms of ride quality. You could prob do coils and raise it a bit in the winter.

      I do have awd. The coils on my Honda aren't bad but it didn't have the best ride to begin with. I work on BMW's and we constantly see cars that ride like crap even with high dollar setups. If I have to replace bad parts I'd definitely look at upgrading though

    • @rickytaylor1361
      @rickytaylor1361 День тому

      (not) funny story; I had a used IS years ago (MY 2017), still under warranty, the brakes started to not squeak, but nails on a chalkboard. Took it to a few dealerships, most said it was "normal", and I told them, then how come 98% of the cars on the road aren't making this, it's a freaking Lexus... it was crazy how the advisors thought it was normal (probably just didn't want to deal with this warranty claim). Another dealership did all they could but still didn't help (even machined my rotors). Ended up calling Lexus corporate to complain how ridiculous it was. Told me to try yet another dealership and thankfully, after showing them how bad it got, they replaced just about everything and it finally fixed the problem.

    • @ifoldaa0078

      @@rickytaylor1361 Yes haha nails on the chalk board is a more accurate description. These are great cars and will last a long time with maintenance. I do worry about the servos on mine, I workaround it by just leaving the temp around 72 which is cool in the summer with AC and feels warm in the winter. That way if they burn out, both climates will be usable still

    • @EddieGS350
      @EddieGS350 7 днів тому

      ahh man, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Most of the people who do have the issue fall under the TSB which is a simple software fix. It is rare that it gets more involved than that. Just gotta enjoy the car :D

    Yoo long-time fan of your vids appreciate the GS content but I promise you can push the GS so much harder bro. My old '14 was an AWD and that thing would grip like crazy when I was in Mexico it could take nice highway bends at ~100mph before it would start to get super floaty. I imagine the RWD is gonna have less of that AWD-grip but still a decent amount of weight to where the car isn't gonna spin out super easily. But as another commentor said manual mode sport plus with trac off (VDIM is still on so not really traction control off unless you do the pedal dance) and you are golden. The GS just gets way more fun when you push it hard.

      @EddieGS350 10 днів тому

      hahah oh man, yeah some of the turns were at 60 but I have Kristy in the car. I'm curious about driving an AWD one! I hear they are rear biased so they keep some of the sportiness while adding more grip. Thank you for watching as always.

    • @wj6107
      @wj6107 10 днів тому

      @@EddieGS350 Yeah totally get that, I was definitely more reckless a couple years ago, but I would say the RWD (I have an ‘18 RWD now) handles better on the dry. I used to live in MN so the AWD was necessary but so nice to have, that thing drove thru blizzards, ice, rain, everything. A bit heavy feeling though and definitely more understeer with the floaty-feeling at higher speed turns. The RWD feels more planted in the dry, lighter on its feet and more eager to push but still with a bit of understeer. Another weird thing is that the ‘14 AWD F-sport was probably the stiffest combination of all the GS years, cause it’s both pre-facelift and the AWD adds some harshness to the ride. The ‘18 I have now is definitely smoother cause it’s both facelift and RWD. I also suspect the floaty-feeling probably comes from the fact that the AWD rides a decent margin higher with awful wheel gap, but the RWD looks nice.

    Im starting to feel a light vibration when i cold staet my car and the AC turn on. Im hoping it's not the engine mounts cuz im not trying to change that now. Im so lazy.

      Ahh I feel it too, just a little bit. It might be normal. You feel it when you go into Reverse and drive too? If you don't feel the P to R or P to D shift and AC still blows cold, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

    • @EddieGS350

      yoo! Ahh everything in this vid, check the tires since these cars eat tires kinda quick. Also check the dashboard too, make sure it isn't cracked (I missed that in this vid). And ofc, see if you can find the maintenance history for the car. But other than that it should be good :D

    Good video. I’ve been following your channel. If you are shopping for wheels for your GS F Sport there are some things to consider. There are also some trade offs when you shop for wheels. These are look, form, function, and comfort. Stick with the 19s if you want to retain comfort using some thicker tires like in the 35 to 40 sidewalls. If you want look and slight comfort, go with the 20s. For the widths it will be 8.5 - 9.0 for the fronts and 9.5 - 10 in the rear. Offsets will be 33 - 40 plus. If you go crazy with the widths and offset, you’ll experience rubbing issues with your fender liner. Your car and mines are basically the same color and trim. Mine is 2018 F Sport with black interiors. I have WEDS Sport SA-25R wheels. They are 20 - 8.5 +38 front and 20 - 9.5 +38 rears. IMO, I have a perfect setup because I can drive my car harder and conquer tight turns without rubbing issues even with passengers, so I have all look, form, and function factors. Comfort is slightly compromised as I have RSR suspension and my tires are 245/35/20s all around. I’m around the Chino Hills area. If you want to check out my car, just let me know.

      Ahh thank you so much for your insight. I'm going to pin your comment in case cause the info is soo good here. I might be doing a square set up. Idk how the handling will be affected but the wheels are only avail in square. Vid will be out on it soon :D

    • @2kwik2c
      @2kwik2c 12 днів тому

      @EddieGS350 The advantage of having a square setup is tire rotation when they start to wear. Handling performance depends on the tires. I used to have Michelin Pilot All Season tires. They last longer and are comfortable. The drawback is that they are a little rough on imperfect roads, and you could hear a bit of road noise in the interior. Now I have Continental.Conact Sport. They're also comfortable, quiet, and grippy. I'm not sure about how long they last, as this is my first set. If you go with a square setup, get 9.0 width. However, you may want to put a 20mm wheel spacer for the rear just to bring it out a bit as it will look tucked without it.

    How reliable are the 2008 gs 350s

    • @EddieGS350
      @EddieGS350 13 днів тому

      Ahh those are pretty reliable too! I know the early FSE years burned a little bit of oil. It might’ve gotten fixed by 2008 but just keep an eye on it. Water pump was an issue back then too lol. I think that’s pretty much it. Solid car 👍
