- The Carnival is getting some big changes for 2025 from Kia. On the outside you will notice all new LED lighting, grill, wheels and front fascia. On the inside you will be greeted by (2) 12.3in screens and mid-row bench seat. Under the hood is a 3.5L V6 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2025 Kia Carnival a BETTER new minivan to BUY than a Honda Odyssey?

This is actually a good blend of suv and mini van. Almost looks like a bigger explorer with a sliding door
And the back sides remind me of a Range Rover evoque

been scouring reviews of the carnival all day, setup an appointment at a dealer for wednesday....then boom i see this dropped 2 hours ago. it's meant to be!!!
Wow the seating mechanism is brilliant! The 2nd row recline and middle seat adjustments/removal turning the left and right into captain chairs so neat. Also the 3rd row being able to recline and also fold away into the floor. Super cool

Depends on trims XSE Sienna looks good though
But is it as reliable? Probably not.
Kia did really well with this one. Odyssey is slightly stuck in the 90’s.

Spending the last 12 years with a Jaguar XF, I wanted to upgrade to a SUV, after doing my homework and watching this channel, minivans (MPV Kia is trying to reinvent the wheel) made more sense. I just got this Kia Carnival 2025 EX, I'm happy with it. Pretty good in gas, got tech, a lot of space, smooth ride. It was Justified. Thank you Sir.

This is the best mini-Van on the US market by far. It’s boxy, upscale, practical, had the most options, is fairly priced… better than an suv if you’re a family with small kids. Easier to get into than a Chevy Tahoe for soccer moms and dads. Great family hauler overall.
Just make an AWD version already, Kia! Jeez! This thing would sell so much better in the US!
I agree, however I think they don't want to lose sales with the Sorrento or telluride. Id rather this in awd over those other 2 I mentioned

Not a bad car for around 40k. I think if you can added ventilated seats, moonroof, additional usb-c ports, and get it under 50k, I think a lot of people might buy it. I really think the lay flat backseats is really innovative too (never seen that before) Overall, good job Kia

Mazda needs to bring back the real MPV
Minivan review and Joe went full Dad mode giving parenting advice.
I recently test drove both. The Kia definitely ahead on cabin tech but the Honda has a more thoughtfully designed interior. For instance the Honda has a lot of space for small items up front with the open console layout and has more useful door panels. They also do a better job with controls. For instance not putting both infotainment and climate control on a touchscreen that you have to toggle back and forth between like Kia does. Honda also drives better. Those Kia cameras are pretty awesome though. Looks are subjective but I've always found the Carnival to look dumpy.

Absolutely love your videos and this one especially since I have a 2022 carnival. Not much has changed in this redesign but that's a good thing. Only thing I was hoping you were gonna mention is how hard it is to put that middle seat back in place after you removed it because I KNOW it made you sweat trying to align it back onto those hooks and into the rails.

Just rented one for about a week. It was a very pleasant experience. The side sliding doors are handy in tight parking spots.
I’m actually leaning strong towards Pacifica or Sienna. But if I met this guy, I may very well go with Kia. I bet his sales blow everyone else’s out of the water

The size of these Kia's is impressive, fits the purpose well.
Shame about the stocking rear suspension.

Even being older, I would hate to say I drove a minivan. This one does not give the minivan vibe. Being a 2 wheelchair family, I need a one. This MPV is the only one that would make me happy. And, since they call them a MPV, I wouldn't even have to call it a minivan. They created a masterpiece. It's like a Cadillac Escalade and a minivan had a baby. Too bad they aren't free.
Great video. I would have liked it if you actioned the functionality. For instance: So said you were 6ft, sat in the driver seat and pointed to the seat adjustability controls, but you didn't action them. IF you could show how far down and up the seat does, etc. Also, show the extent of the telescoping steering wheel, in relation to your 6ft stature.
The tiger nose grill look like Flavor Flav's grill! The interior is more of a modern day station wagon rather than a mini wagon. This is a cool ride!

Best looking van in and out by far. Just took a 1200 mile trip in a Pacifica and I would never buy one of those piles of junk over one of these. The only thing they have that I like is the stow and go. That’s it. Build quality is bad, seats are uncomfortable, not enough power, terrible drivers assist, infotainment is bad. This is better in every aspect. I would also rather tow our small camper in this over the hybrid Sienna, which also has a terrible interior in comparison, and the Honda is the closest, but looks terrible. It would be between the Honda and Kia for me, but this would win because it just looks and feels better in and out. It’s more modern, has more features, better drivers assistance like highway driving assist. Once I had highway driving assist, I won’t have a car without it.

Add AWD, and towing at 5000 pounds and I’m sold. Maybe throw in some type of stow and go second row and Kia would have a true MPV.
Does anyone think Mazda ahould beong back the MPV or Ford reviving the Freestar, or even Nissan with the Quest. That should spice up the segment.

We looked at a Carnival before we picked a Traverse.
We liked the Carnival except the 3rd row. There was no headroom. In 3rd row. Sitting in 3rd row, my head touched the top.
And the Traverse does??

Looks good. Me and my wife are considering but we worry about long term reliability.
I wondered the same thing, but they have one of the best warranties out there. I also saw a review from someone that had one and they only had one minor issue (regarding a door closing alignment) and they fixed it under the warranty with no problems. He said, he wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
It looks so elegant and gorgeous that it will be an impossible task for the competition to make better than this.
Heiio, I'm looking for adventure van. It will eventually have a modular bed system with storage under the bed. All behind the front seats. How level or close to flat does the Carnival get behine the front seat. Looks like from your great demo the 3rd row rides up a little fron the front of the vehicle? How close to flat after seat removal does the 2nd row get to flat?

I had a Kia Sedona for years until it was wrecked. Bought a Odyssey and could not stand it! I was shocked and wondering why people would rank it so high? Got rid of it after only 9 months.

Why has the industry not ramped up production? I have been trying to purchase a SX Prestige hybrid and am told at least 6 months wait.
Price isn't bad. Never would I buy a top shelf anything in a kid hauler. Base only for the "wrecking crew in the back"! 😂
Literally did this. We are in the process of buying one and when selecting the trim, we chose EX. More passenger space, second row is removable, more family friendly.

So I guess the rounded designs are being replaced by the revived box or brick designs? This design might take a bit of getting used to. How is it when it comes to moving through high wind? On other subjects, I just ate at Pancho's buffet for the first time in about 4 years, and I might have some chocolate Twinkies for dessert. The minivan's name "Carnival" reminds me of an early R.E.M. song, "Carnival Of Sorts". You mentioned Papa John's. People may laugh at me, but imo, Cici's Pizza beats Papa John's any day.

I just leased a 2025 Carnival SX V6 today. Does anyone know about the build quality of KIA, in general? Some people say Kia cars fall apart after a few years... I just want to know if they're reliable enough for buying out, after the lease term.

Looks like and old school Station Wagon from the late 60's and 70's.
I'm looking at a new minivan.
Test drove the Pacifica, which was nice, but not paying 55K for Chrysler.
Sienna has the Toyota reliability and honestly looks.
Carnival is great. We currently have the Sedona and is great. But we want the hybrid model. Not sure when it will come out.
Honda is old. Even with the new model, it just looks old. I would have hoped for a hybrid model. I love the feature of the middle seat being able to move in and out and not only front to rear.
Not sure which one to choose from.
Carnival comes in hybrid also for 2025.

Odyssey’s haven’t been all that reliable tho. Transmission issues, electrical issues and oil consumption issues

Hi 👋☺️ Joe Excellent Review 👍😊 Kia Did A Excellent job with The Carnival they found a nitch were Ford gave up on The Flex and Market share. Its nice to have a choice of not everyone wants or needs a SUV .
Happy to drive Kia Sedona 2015,
