    I absolutely use white vinegar as my fabric softener at home and suggest it to clients as well. I just pour some into one of those Downey Balls and toss it in the wash. In addition to what she said, white vinegar is not only a natural fabric softener but also a natural deodorizer which does wonders with armpit odors and such. Instead of buying Oxyclean, I have a small spray bottle that has one part dish soap (Dawn) and two parts hydrogen peroxide (which is the active ingredient in Oxyclean) and I spray it on stains and use an old toothbrush to work it into stains before I wash those clothes. Does wonders and is a very inexpensive. Great video!

      Softener is the one thing I do not use in my rentals. If you put softner on linen, pit them in a closet and dont use them for a while...they end up smelling. I strip my linen at lease twice a year, use very little detergent. For whites borax, cheap ariel powder detergent and oxyclean. Always white. Even makeup comes off. All 5 star review specially on my 12 beds Tampa rental.

    We are a smaller market with about 40 vacation rentals. For 2021 summer season, we paid $1.30 per pound for our linens laundry. This does not include pressing…that service is not available. For king set, queen set, 2 twin beds and a complete bath linens set for 6 we average $30 per turn. The cost to keep cleaners there longer to do on site laundry would exceed that cost. Cotton thermal blankets run about $5 per. Overall condition post season was dingy not bright white. I was able to rejuvenate most of them with bleach soaks of an hour. I believe guests were washing towels during their stays and mixing with darks and colors. I came to this conclusion because the sheets were not in the same dingy state.

    I'm working for an Airbnb owner and I'm having to wash three beds of sheets, big heavy gray towels and washcloths, and three the duvets every other time. Two houses, one washer each. The guy wanted me to bring the extra home, but I live with my parents and they said that I'm not allowed to bring the laundry home. I have from 11-3

    • @AskAngelaBrown

    Hi Angela -- please help!
    I turnover an airbnb and the client only allows six hours. The average amount of laundry is five loads and I am struggling to get it all done in time. How long should the machines take start to finish? I find it's about 1.5 to 2 hours for a complete load and I'm using quick wash but there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms (a lot of to towels) and the client wants duvet covers washed each time as well.
    Please help, I'm losing peace because of this job 😭

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  2 роки тому +5

      The job sounds like it has unrealistic expectations for washing machines in the home. You and the host would benefit from them outsourcing the laundry part of the BNB to a laundry service.

    • @2centsuncensored672
      @2centsuncensored672 2 роки тому +5

      Sounds unrealistic for you to wash duvets every cleaning, but it may be due to Covid. I personally dont like duvets as they aren't waterproof or stain resistant. They add extra time & hassle getting them back on. Maybe suggest removing the duvets. Also, maybe add more to each load to reduce the amount of loads. I sympathize with you. Dont let it steal your peace

      Hi Carissa I’m sorry you going through this. What we do it’s to find a laundry near by and send one of your helpers to do laundry for about an hour. But we do charge extra for the payment of the laundry machines, gas and paying the person to go. Hope it helps.

    • @CariBarbour
      @CariBarbour 2 роки тому +2

      @@carmengutierrez8594 Thank you so much!! Unfortunately the nearest Laundromat is half hour away so what my business partner started doing is shoving two or three times the amount in the machines.... Not ideal but I had been taking it home and doing it for free, she had enough of me doing that and started overfilling the machine 😂 It's been working well like this for about a month ... Not ideal but we can't be working for free either! That's what happens when people don't want to pay what it costs...😅

      I bring home aboit half the load with me, and wash the other half at the house. I do a large house with 5 beds so I was in the same predicament as you. Taking laundry home in a basket has been helpful for me.

  • @suegurney4666

    Do you recommend storing linen in bedding packs so that the cleaner or house keeper can just fetch the pack which will have sheets pillow cases and duvet covers etc. in one place , or just store all the queen sheets together and single sheets together and so on. I am about to reorganise my utility room where linen is stored and everything is mixed up especially as sheets are put in the wrong place.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  7 місяців тому

    • @vanessahiggins5185
      @vanessahiggins5185 5 років тому +4

      @@AskAngelaBrown I agree with Angela. In an ideal world you would want to have all clean linens, bath mats, comforters for every turnover, but it is tough with time constraints, high expense and high wear and tear on your linens. Comforters are good to clean on a monthly basis. If you see a stain, then for sure, wash it!

    • @solidous26

      My client has quilts as comforters for his airbnbs, and I always wash them after each checkout. I hang them dry during the summer months here in AZ to save time on laundry. I think they should be washed after each checkout for sanitary reasons.
