Sean, you teach as I like to learn and teach myself, dynamic, rapid and with occasional humour. Tx so much. What towles do you use for shower? Nice and big and have a hook for hanging as well...nice! tx again
I'm a home stager and I help Airbnb hosts get more bookings through design & making over their spaces. I highly recommend white sheets because if they are stained you can always just bleach them. Once a colored sheet gets a stain, it's extremely difficult to get rid of the stain without discoloring the sheet. Also, people associate cleanliness with white linens. If I see dark sheets on a hotel or airbnb bed I would immediately be wondering if they are clean or questioning what stains they are trying to hide. That's my expert advise followed by my personal opinion. Thanks for the excellent videos! They are interesting and informative. Kudos on your successful business and channel.
Agree for white linens and towels. We went to a very expensive stay that provided BROWN linens and towels. Gross! I commented to host and they said it was easier to keep looking clean. I told them it actully just looks dirty.
Agree! White is a hospitality standard. Is great on things you want to make sure they are clean. Plus... not a fan of the swan towels... love hotel vibe.
I likely will never fold towels like that but I am you are very generous and charismatic and your heart and mind is in the right place , and you are so very helpful to so many people - thanks for sharing your journey and helping people along the way - means a lot ❤️
Sean I've never given a comment before. I really appreciate what you do for all of us. I have watched you for about a year 1/2 2 years. I only run one house in the Colorado wilderness. But I have learned amazing Tips and Tricks. Look up Secluded Mountain Retreat. I love what I do, but you have shown me and taught me how to love it more. I'm forever in your gratitude and your debt thank you. CIE Jaya devoted Forever fan....
we use grey everything, towels and sheets, but grey is our colour scheme. grey, white + another accent colour in each property. makes buying accessories, and sharing thing across the 3, very easy.
lol, the swan fold is so 1985. y'all keep doing that and i'll fold my towels like it's 2022. I do agree that it does give the room personality, saving you on decor purchases. I still think people will love a larger towel (larger than what you're providing), regardless of how you are folding them.
Oh god! Your like my personal therapist!! When I think of something ahead, like this, I just find my answers, everytime; I run to you!!! Ehehehe!! Amazing! Voila!
Great video Sean! The duvet class was really helpful! I gave up on them a few months ago and bought quilts. They are so much easier to use. Still have the duvets and glad I watched this video since winters are pretty harsh in Kansas and duvets will keep my guests warm.
the duvet cover thingy you did was interesting. i put the cover inside out then grab the farthest ends from the opening then fluff out tucking in the parts with the opening last.
Ty! I think one of the first videos i watched of yours, when you were first starting out, was about towel folding;-) Glad you are adding about duvet covers. Yeah duvet covers!! We just stayed at a beachfront Hilton that was triple sheets. UGGHH. Reminded how much i hate sleeping on a triple sheetted bed! Woke up with the comforter on face. Yick! Still big on white linens and bedding.
Turn the duvet cover inside out, put your hands inside to grab the furthest corners, grab the conrners of your duvet to stick the corners together, dress the duvet. I can teach you that if you teach me more about how to start my own Airbnb😉Good info. Thank you.
Try light grey sheets! 😊 they do not show fading, they also will last long er since they will not need major cleaning agents, stains are not only harder to see but usually do not show up. :)
My guest linen closet is in the bathroom and has no door so we roll them all and stack them. They look nice all together this way on the open rustic wood shelves. Hand towels live in a basket same roll. A quick, simple, no fuss look. I think the swans look somewhat dated and aren’t an efficient use of turnover time. TFS.
The towel sculptures reminded me of a funny story from a trip I took to Egypt. Many of the hotels made towel and blanket sculptures for the guests but on a Nile River cruise. some yahoo on the room service staff made a comforter/towel person and set it on one of the beds. It was a fake person constructed of two extra comforters, a rolled up towel and a discarded Halloween-type mask. There were two of us staying in the room and room service person borrowed a pair of slippers to make feet for the fake bed-sitter. So imagine entering the room at night like I did and seeing a silhouette of what looks like a stranger sitting on a bed. Startled the crap out of me, seeing somebody sitting there in the dark. At least I could laugh about it later. It's a good thing my roomie didn't see it before I did.
Very helpful. Especially duvet portion. Brad Pitt in Fight Club asking why we know what a duvet is, randomly popped into my head. Like them, do find them a pain tho.
I am currently a housekeeper/ front desk at a hotel, planning to go on my own with seans amazing Airbnb info :D) and I luv this- Thanks, you are the best!
On duvets better to turn inside out, lay insert on top and then tie the corners, that’s what the ties are for lol I just found out and VOILA no bunching or arms deep into to duvet lol
I would add- Use a cumulus sheet/cover as that top sheet. Additionally, be sure to 'cure' linens in your linen closet, ensuring they are wrinkle free on your beds. To cure, take them out of the dryer when they are 97% dry....just barely damp to the touch (in extremely humid areas this is not necessary), fold them nicely and stack in your linen closet flat until use.
When I’m browsing listings and I see coloured sheets, I move on to the next listing. Anything other than crisp white sheets make me suspicious for some reason.
White Linens and Sheets. It looks and smells fresh for hotel/Airbnb vibe. No on the swan....it just looks people touched my linens too much and not cool. LOL. It is weird.
As a guest, I have want white sheets. I want to see if there are stains. I want to know if that sheet is old and grey! I guess I've watched too many of Gordon Ramsey's Hotel Nightmares. ❤🌅🌵😷
He didn't say this but after rolling the duvet cover to the far end, grab that far corner of the duvet AND the duvet cover and pull to the outside. Repeat on the other side... Grab the corner of the duvet AND the corner of the cover and pull to the outside. ❤🌅🌵😷
not so relevant but my airbnb account has been blocked from airbnb for trying to contact host outside their website. anyone can help me ? is it permanent or is just a warning ?
If you have an Airbnb how do you have time to do all this you must not have a very good turnover I’m by the beach I have to do very simple very quick because I have people checking in every other day
I prefer my linens to be white/cream, looks cleaner. And I hate when people over fold towels etc. I just don't like to think about how much people have handled the linen I use, all those germs etc. 🤢 Otherwise good video.
I dont mind coloured sheets at all, I love colourful things. I know a lot of people only like white but when I start using my home as an airbnb I will have one super aesthetic room (my daughter's room) that is pink, white and black themed so im going to alternate the sheets in those colours 🤷♀️ if you don't like it dont book it lol (the other 3 rooms will be white linens)
do you Americans not have doonas/duvets in your homes?? you turn it inside it, grab your corners and "drop" the cover over the doona. of course it's easier for tall people but this isn't rocket science. Still a giant pain though! especially for king and super king sizes.
I am a huge fan of all your videos ... gotta say though, this towel folding tutorial was ... well .... eh .... not so good . All i see is rough edges showing and fabric that has heavily touched by your hands . yuck
Love that you are tackling this topic but first you should break up the videos into separate subjects. You never showed how to fold the sheets to keep them.from wrinkling. You need to slow down and take your time. You talked so fast and so rushed, half the time I was not following what you were saying and doing. Re shoot the 3 sheet method so we can actually see what you are doing. Use a different color duvet or sheet because you can not see white on white. And lastly, do you know how hard it is to pick up and throw out a king size down comforter with a duvet on it?? I am a strong woman and it's hard as hell! There are easier ways to put on a duvet cover where you dont have to throw it in the air to straighten it out. Great subject, horrible presentation.

Great comment! Do you offer your services remotely, for example through a zoom call? I'm a Fallout freak so your thumbnail caught my eye.
Where are you located? I may need your help if you live close to my AirBnB.
bleach is not very enviro friendly though.

No one else is bringing this high-quality content in this space on UA-cam!
I like the grey towels too. Some people say that white is the best because hotels use them, but I think grey is better.
we use grey everything, towels and sheets, but grey is our colour scheme. grey, white + another accent colour in each property. makes buying accessories, and sharing thing across the 3, very easy.
We use white towels in our properties with black makeup towels stocked as well. Was thinking of stocking a set of black towels as well vs grey
@@prescint10 That’s exactly what we do. White is psychologically “clean”

Yes! what's with the cheap love motel vibe!
You are a GENIUS !!!!! there is nothing you can't do ...Thank you so much for all your videos
Best tutorial I've watched so far. Making it very elegant & easy. Thank you for sharing.
You are such an all rounder Sean. Love this! Especially the technique for duvet covers which I always have problems with. Thank you.
Keep them coming! I learn a lot from you today
Just bought a duvet and duvet cover for personal use and this was just so helpful. Thank you
Best advice on linens that I have seen!!!
You are always the best best one for teach everything about Airbnb hosting.

Thanks, I don't find fancy towel rolling useful, but Duvet cover trick is awesome!
That Gandalf reference nailed it! This is genius Sean! My current duvet method takes about 10 minutes talk about time saved.
That’s a lifetime in duvet-years

Hi, what are washcloths for? I'm from Italy, I never really understood how they are used. As make up removers? We don't use them over here. Thanks!
Great humor and entertaining with the education. Thank you! You are amazingly helpful! :D

Great way to do the Duvet Sean & friends :) I’ve done the inside-out but laying it over the bed will help!
Great tips
Wow that’s amazing and easy to do that after you teach, thank you so much 😊
Great ideas

You don't tie the corners on your duvet covers? Also hosts can Google burrito roll duvet for great videos on quick duvet cover change.
Thanks for the duvet magic! Almost better than the unicorns ;-)
It was the cute animals for me
good duvet covers have ties in the corner to hold the comforter.

my grandma taught me the duvet cover trick when I was a kid. I thought everyone did it that way! lol
I have a weird question. For every guest do you put a new roll of toilet paper? What do you do with a half used toilet paper?
Fold it with a nice tissue rose and continue for the next guess followed by a new roll
If someone is staying for a week, do you provide more than one towel?
Yes absolutely
Yes! For the animals!

Skip the cute towels, they are just gimmicks. Fresh, clean, and not worn are much more important. People notice and resent being tricked.
So how do you dress the bottom (bed frame)? That metal bed frame exposed gives all the ambiance of a prison cell!

What’s with the cheesy towel folding? We’re not trying to emulate a cheesy 1980’s motel
