This was very helpful to me, a homeowner. I want to streamline many things at the house, one of them being the cleaning supplies. My home has 3 levels, and I no longer want to have a floor cleaner, a counter cleaner, and a window cleaner under every sink in the house, plus a multitude of rags, brushes, towels, sponges, gloves, and the rest spread throughout 3 floors. I'm determined to have 1 well-stocked caddy with everything I need for regular maintenance, and move with IT as I clean. All the heavy duty things (degreasers, drill attachments, mineral oil, marble cleaner) I use maybe twice or thrice a year, I'll move to the basement. Also, I'll remove anything that's strictly for "real" mopping from under the kitchen sink and store it in the laundry area because that's something I do once a week, the rest of the time a run with a stick vac and damp microfiber mop are enough. I don't know why it's taken me 25+ years of my own housekeeping to figure out I really don't need repeats of every single product near every nook and cranny that needs cleaned. Thank you. I'm looking at the Husky bag with the tall pockets, I think that'd be plenty spacious for my supplies.
I definitely need a cleaning caddy. Having a caddy may help my ADHD because it will keep me from going room to room looking for my cleaning products.

I use the HUSKY 14"..my crew loves them. I put a plastic tumbler cup in 3 of the outside pockets, 1 for our toilet bowl brush, 1 for little things like small grout brushs, pens, scrapers etc and one for wet sponges. Works fantastic!

Woot Woot! I am so excited for you. Carrying a bag that is half the size of your other one will most likely be easier on your shoulders and back as well. Let me know how it works for you. One of my favorite things about that bag is that the sidewalls are high enough your supplies never topple out or spill.

Who knew there were so many things to consider about choosing the right caddy? I'm amazed that at my seasoned age (we don't get older we just get more seasoned ;) that I hadn't figured out how much more efficient it would be to use a caddy. I'm buying three, one for under the sink, one for me to carry from room to room and one for my husband for his tools that he can NEVER find. Thanks!

I gust got 2 husky bags and a husky 18 inch totem bag that has a telescopic handle for my wife's cleaning service. She put the 2 bags on top of the tote and she is good to go. Looks super professional. Before she had a small cart with different small boxes. Even then everything was organized but now she looks like a pro. You have made a big difference in he life Angela. You are a true angel.

The Casabella plastic tote that you suggest for homeowners looks a lot like the plastic shower tote I bought for my daughter when she was heading off to college. The advantage of the Casabella version is that it's designed to nest in the top of a matching 4-gallon bucket (useful if one has to mop, I imagine). The one I got for my daughter for college came from the dollar store or Walmart, though, I think.

Reminds me of the Horse grooming kits. Some prefer bags, some bags aee vented bottom, so dirt does not accumulate. some prefer hard plastic caddy. Tractor supply store, country max, smart pak, chick's saddlery all have similar options. Extremely durable.

Even though I have the cleaning caddy like #1, I have recycled small butter/sour cream/yogurt containers to sit each spray bottle in. Which helps with any leakage like you mentioned.
Have had for about 10 years give or take.

This was a eyeopener for sure on some of the options.
I currently been working as weekend housekeeper at a hotel for a month now and we use the jantext or rubbermaid cabby (very similar in design) Durable plastic made to carry cleaning materials like spray bottles. Their not a bad design, but they have no dividers, so going through which items such as coffee, sugars, milk, then you have the cleaning products like soap and so on.
I certinely would look at making a overseas purchase for maybe the Husky model as the pockets are well placed to see how much you have and could work as both standard room stock and cleaning stock.

I use 2 plastic buckets within each other to carry products and a nylon bag to carry clean cloths. I stack the buckets together and hang the nylon bag from my vacuum. I separate the buckets while cleaning. When I have used a cloth, it goes into the bucket. Then when I leave, I stack the dirty cloth bucket back under my product bucket. When I return from cleaning, the cloths, nylon bags and my PVC gloves are put into the washer. My buckets are cleaned in the laundry tub each job.
I wonder. How does one clean the mentioned cloth caddys?

You might want to look at Lowes Kobalt 12 pocket bag. It's 14 inches deep and has deep pockets designed for spray bottles. The cost is about $30.00.

The husky bag is actually a janitorial bag, that was my 1st starter bag! I still use it for some things but now use the husky tool bag on wheels, been cleaning for 25 yrs and wanted something a bit easier so went with wheels! It works out great but is a little pricier! U can also stack other husky bags (or other brands) on top and loop the handle around the handle on the bag with wheels, kind of like you'd do with a suitcase and carry bag!

Nice bags, not sure how much they are. I just use a large diaper bag that I got at target for $40. I have pockets inside and out plus I prefer shoulder straps since I have to carry a mop,broom,bucket and a vacuum as well. 😊

Hi Angela, I use a cart on wheels with a pull up handle. I usually clean houses that are 3,000-5,000 square feet so I need something that I don’t have to carry. Also, I use around 15-25 different cleaning products. (I may be OCD, lol) I really like the husky one and I’m pretty sure it comes with wheels and a handle. I’m going to go look at Home Depot and probably buy that one. Thanks so much! 🤗

I use a Rubbermaid executive cleaning cart medium size. I’m looking to downsize to just a caddy! The cart holds my dyson and all my supplies and comes with a smaller caddy but it’s just too heavy!

In our Professional Cleaners Facebook Group I've seen lots of house cleaners who buy carts with wheels, but they don't make sense to me. Carts with wheels that are substantial enough to carry cleaning supplies are too heavy to take on jobs. While they may go up a flight of stairs, they usually are tall and have stacking pieces so you can fit everything inside. And that means that every time you need something you have to open, unpack and move stuff around which is a huge waste of time. Carry a small caddy - that you can lift and carry in one hand, and carry it up the stairs. We also have cleaners who ride the metro - and in that event I recommend if you will be walking for blocks with your caddy of cloths and a caddy of supplies that you get a portable luggage rack (here is a paid link amzn.to/3zxWaXl so you can see what I'm thinking of) and stack your stuff on them in transit and then when you get to the customer's house dismantle it so you can carry your caddy from room to room rather than trying to wheel it up a flight of stairs. (Heaven forbid you bang into a wall with a wheelie cart going up stairs in the client's home and have to pay for a handyman to come patch and paint the wall.)

So having to unstack things can be a little annoying for me. But I also do construction. So I’m going to do an experiment and use my rolling modular toolbox. I will try it for this next house I’m going to clean and see how it works out for me. I was hesitant to buy anything like that even for my tools for 20 years because of the unstacking issue. But this modular toolbox that I have now has actually helped save me so much time looking for things. Because I will be doing construction cleanup, I have to carry a lot of rags. They get very dirty very quickly and I have to keep changing to a fresh rag. I will use squeegees in the showers this time. One that you recommended in another video . I also have a window vacuum that I can use in tile showers. That is a real timesaver. I have a little motorized scrubbing gadget as well. That is why I wanted something to carry everything up the stairs a little more easily. In the past, I have just carried one caddy for of my cleaning sprays , window scrapers , toilet brush … etc . But then I would have to run back-and-forth to my car carrying up the vacuum, brooms , dust pans , window vac …etc . Do you have any tips to do construction cleanup without having to have so many gadgets? And the tall windows . Ugh ! They get me every time . My Karcher window vacs work pretty darn good . But at 5 feet tall , getting those high windows , even on a ladder is a nightmare. That’s what I dread most . I start cleaning a 6 bedroom post construction Monday. I’m excited and nervous at the same time . I only have 2 days to clean it by myself. Considering the Unnger Indoor Window Cleaning Kit. It’s a small mop with a silky microfiber pad . The windows aren’t terrible and I only have to do the inside parts on the high ones . You make a point denting walls 🤣. Thankfully, these are wooden walls and I do construction. Thank you for your feedback! As for the tote, it depends on the amount of items you typically carry. If you prefer a more compact option, the small might be ideal. However, if you tend to carry a bit more, the large provides additional space without being overly bulky. Consider your daily essentials, and that should guide your choice

What would you reccomend using for a rolling cart, one I can fit my husky bag and my other supplies into? I work in a lot of condos and apartments and so I'm lugging two bags plus my mop and vacuum.
That is a lot of gear man. I'm not the best person to answer that because I don't use rolling caddies for residential cleaning. Commercial yes, but residential no - because we are in and out of subways, up and down flights of stairs, down narrow walkways, and up and down people's porches. We do carry a cleaning caddy, a mop bucket (with cloths and supplies,) and a mop with washable heads. We use the client's vacuum. So for us, it's one trip from the car or subway to the customer's home. Are you in our Facebook group? i use rolling carts for work, i run conferences....need to be able to cart and unload. look for collapsible roll carts, they're not too expensive, they usually usually have a lid, so you can place another tub of stuff if needed

I'm hoping to hear what you put in the caddy to have a well rounded arsenal of tools and cleaners.
What you put in the cleaning caddy may vary from job to job and day to day depending on if you're doing a maintenance clean or a deep clean. For a maintenance clean it's usually eco-friendly neutral cleaners. And for a deep clean with lots of grit and grime you'll have more of your acidic and alkaline cleaners.

I’m moving to Chicago and street parking seems to be an issue that I’ve never had to deal I’m wondering what rolling bag I can fit my vacuum steam cleaner and steam mop in.
If you are riding the metro you may want to consider a mop like a Swiffer Sweeper that breaks apart easily and can fit in a caddy. Also even on a metro I'm not a fan of rolling caddies as they don't go up and down stairs easily inside homes. I carry a small 12 inch caddy shown in the video and linked to the video below and carry a hand held mop bucket with my cloths and steamer inside. Both hands are full, but they balance nicely - neither are too heavy and I can stay very mobile when jumping on and off the metro, going up or down a flight of metro or apartment stairs etc.
I really need a cleaning caddy because right now I'm using a milk crate that is older than me (32). Don't get me wrong it can carry a lot of my supplies but I need two hands just for that and make more trips than I would like.

Caddies with wheels are awesome for people who ride the Underground or the Metro to work. Personally, I prefer a carry cleaning caddy that is small enough to carry, and big enough it has your few supplies in it. The wheels on many of the units I've seen encourage indoor/outdoor use, and I'm not a fan of dragging anything from outside into a client's home and then dragging it all over their carpets and floors. Also, those with substantial wheels can pick up little rocks in the tires and then scratch hardwoods if not careful. You may have found a workable solution I don't know about. What are you using?

The toilet brush usually goes next to the toilet in a stand on the floor. Each toilet gets its own toilet brush and we ask the customer to provide them so we are not carrying a dripping wet toilet brush from room to room or house to house.

Angela, I start every job with an organized bag and half way through the Job it’s a tossed messed🤦♀️🤦♀️my dry rags tend to get wet since there’s no side pockets for separating them I have wet paper towels that get tossed in there to bc my partner always moves my garbage bag as we move ahead through the house.any suggestions
Hi Eileen, it sounds like you just need to tighten your cleaning system. In every home the person doing the wet chores will have two caddies, one for supplies, and one for cloths. They should never be mixed and used paper towels should not be cross-contaminated with cloths, clean or used. If necessary clip a grocery bag (the kind with handles) on your belt loop with a Caribeener clip amzn.to/3zFpJnu to use as a garbage bag so you always have one with you.

I love listening to you! I have been a residential cleaner for 15 years. I started later in life because #1 I love cleaning and #2 I wanted a career shift so I could be available for my kids as teens and all their activities as well as my husband who, at the time, had his own business. I wish I knew about you when I got started. I have had to learn as I go, trial and error. There are two things on my list that I am struggling with. I have been using a Kirby vacuum all these years. It's super heavy to put in and out of my vehicle, plus carrying it up and down stairs etc. It's a powerhouse for sure but I would like to retire it to something more lightweight and durable. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Susi, Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I know all about the Kirby - a.k.a. the vacuum that will not die. We grew up with Kirby's (Mom, and both Grandma's.) They Kirby's live forever. And you're right, they can be VERY heavy. For right now, since COVID we're actually encouraging all professional cleaners to use the client's vacuum and then empty it when the job is complete. This prevents loading your vacuum in your car, dragging it all over the flooring of someone's home, and then having to sanitize it between jobs where you will drag it all over the flooring of someone else's home. It's the quickest, most efficient way to vacuum the flooring of a home without cross-contamination. It will also let you "try out" a variety of different vacuums in client's homes with different types of rugs, carpets and hard flooring before you make a purchase decision and buy your next vacuum.
I own 3. 2 of them are commercial grade, other is just a cheap $50 walmart one 8 pounds and has the bag system. Which I like. Other ones are a hand held hoover 8 pounds I bought on Amazon be sure to get the tool pouch holder comes separately. Lastly I bought a zoom vaccume about 8 pounds very well made for the price. Those are what I use hopefully this helps good luck!
Following various review the shark vertex pro handheld has the best suction and power you can get ! It’s also cordless but you can buy extra battery (save you a lot of carrying). One more thing I’ve seen other company use are outdoor caddy (with the big wheels) and they just load everything inside.
I bought a Dyson V11 Torque vacumn which I love. No cords to trip over, don't have to look for outlets, holds a charge for about 45 minutes of vacumning, has accessory tools, and it is lightweight. I carry the charger so I can charge it while doing not vacumning tasks. Worth every penny!
I use Dyson outsize for my cleaning! I love it.
Where do you carry mop buckets, broom, and mop and vacuum?
I also carry a mop bucket with wheels. It holds my cloths, steamer, mop heads and can be carried in the house at the same time as a cleaning caddy. We use the customer's vacuum (so we don't carry a broom or vacuum and the mop we use is a steamer mop that fits in the cleaning caddy.)

have to say, as a germ phobic person, i can't imagine someone vacuuming my house with a vacuum that's been in someone else's house, i guess people hire professional cleaning don't have these thoughts😂

YES. Beyond 14 inches I personally think the bag is too big and too heavy with cleaning supplies in it to carry. That is just me personally and I'm 5"8' and VERY STRONG. ;-)

This is the worst advice ever. I ordered the 12" AWP like she suggests from Amazon. It is so small that nothing fits in it. Spray bottles wont fit and there is no way a roll of paper towels would ever fit in there. The thing was nearly $50 and now im stuck dealing with Amazon returns. Proceed with caution people and make sure you see these b4 u buy them.
