A while back, I had the opportunity to get a garage full of old Ford parts, including a bunch for the 1st Gen bronco. I'm not worried about getting a lot of money for these parts, but I will ask if you could send me some photos of the build in process and completed. I brought these parts home so they wouldn't end up in a scrap yard and hopefully make their way to a good home.
I understand where you guys went with this build simply because of scope and time, it would still be great to see the original tub and chassis saved and back in the original ginger bronze colour. Unless it already went to scrap last year.
Currently on #3 ,a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ . Very happy with all aspects including the dealership believe it or not. Always early second owner under 7k miles. Save up , then wait for the phone to ring.
My dad had a Red and white sport with chrome, 32's, roll bars, push button start, locking hubs. We ran that all over the Oregon coast. Think it was a 69. Would love to have one like it.
Sounds excellent, mostly because you’ve honoured your dads memory (and maybe teed into yours?) with your post. Remembering times with my kids and grandchildren Trump everything other than meeting my wife and owning motorcycles of the golden era (1970s Japanese: they were the essential backdrop to the punk & new wave revolution we enjoyed). Sounds like a great vehicle & parent too? :)
Man great videos I love Alfas and have owned 3 105’s. I wish I had another but they are pretty rare and really expensive in Oz. Also most of them have been restored now. So I am living vicariously through your channel thanks
I totally understand the advantages and desirability of that +700 hp engine. That said, after seeing how complicated it is and how it had to be shoe-horned into place, I'd sacrifice 400hp for a simple 300hp pushrod 302 V8. Just my $.02 Cents.
My first thought was that that was unnecessary. It's a utility vehicle that you buy to drive in the mountains, and will go down dirt roads. The stance, high and short wheelbase, is all wrong for that kind of power.
@@hkguitar1984 They're building a hotrod, rather than an SUV. If you're going to take it into the wilderness you'll care that it's reliable, and has a good range on a tank.
Hope you do not have the problem I had with a 72 Bronco. Swapped in a 351windsor. No problems until. I started doing low speed crawling. Would overheat and vapor lock. Finally figured out the small engine compartment. Was holding too much heat and fan could not push it out. Installed a couple of vents in the hood and cowl induction scoop. Which solved problem.
@@funtyes1970 Heh. Nice sarcasm. Yet it is possible that the new owner may experience similar troubles. In 1966 l was nine years old..... .......and one day my grandparents and l went to the Ford dealership. I rememeber all the "66" symbols on the big walls & windows. My grandparents were from the Great Depression & WWII ERA...SO FRUGALITY WAS JUST PART OF THEIR DIGNIFIED & POLITE MANNERISMS. Eventually l realized they were. ACTUALLY BUYING SOMETHING!!! ((( THIS WAS A BIG DAY!!! ))). 😅 PAPA ended up getting the ORIGINAL BRONCO......just like the one pictured here in your video: deep aqua color....WHITE TRIM HERE & THERE.....ALL very bright & pretty to my little nine year old girl 's heart.. I suspected that the aqua colour was not PaPa's favorite hue for his manly-man lifestyle....but he and my grandmother were THE ROMANCE OF THE CENTURY: RIGHT SNAP-DAB IN OUR HOUSE!!! 💕.....and we all went home in the aqua Bronco. (I do suspect that Nana got her color choice for the new truck....BUT IT SEEMED TO ME SHE HAD SOFTENED HIM UP A BIT BY PROMISING HIM A NEW ALUMINUM FISHING BOAT. A DEAL IS A DEAL.....so we parked the Bronco in the driveway.... ate dinner....and over the course of the early evening every grown- up & teenage boy all showed up to see this new Ford. Many is the trip l took to camp or bird hunting with my PaPa......oh how l loved him !!!! It was a wonderful time to grow up in the USA.....WITH AN ENTIRE GENERATION OF WONDERFUL GROWN-UPS ALL AROUND US. SUCH MEMORIES. 😊...... ......ALL FROM JUST A GLIMPSE OF THAT LITTLE AQUA 1966 BRONCO. .
My ct9080 says made in the usa right on the tool... thats why i dont mind paying more. Ive had mine for 4 years and it's been perfect. Everytime i use it you can tell its made better, its just solid.
Great video, and these boys did some darn fine work! I wish they would address the elephant in the room on what became of the original 74 Bronco…basically they used the door latches and glove box…a shame they tore down a running, driving Bronco
Exactly. Because of the cost of finding an old Bronco and restoring I looked at doing this exact same thing. Down side is you miss out on restoring a piece of history and end up with a kit car. I am not sure how they can still call this a 74 Bronco. If that is the case then anyone could look for a completely destroyed Bronco and just buy the title from someone.
@@trirunner2520 That's about how it goes these days. Everything I see for sale under $10K, and often even $20 or $30K is no better than what these guys started with. For a looong time already there has been a market for Bronco titles & vin/glovebox door tags, ideally with the frame too. I took a consignment from one of the more famous Bronco builders this past summer and when I inquired about getting a title and vin tag for a project Bronco I was considering building from the ground up with a new frame, the guy said no problem we've got plenty of those.
Gorgeous built from the ground up, I couldn't bring myself to part with it, I'd be afraid to put a mile on it to drive it!!! I might have to put it on a Dyno to test the horse power?
love the full build videos, i intend on watching all of them. I have been a Powerblock fan since high school back in the late 90's and stopped watching regularly when the app/tv/streaming era hit where it was hard to watch and even after i paid for the app, i was still dissatisfied with its functionality. i do have youtube premium and will be watching everything you guys have on here. Brandon is a great fit with Mark, looking forward to see how their chemistry works going forward. :)
Great to see. I had 3. 69, 71, 72. Built one with a 289 high perf from a Fairlane. A real sleeper in its day. I think it was probably the best truck I ever owned and the very best of Ford.
Would a 90s T-Bird radiator really be adequate for an 800hp crate motor? I seem to remember those cars having overheating issues with their stock engines (same as the Lincoln LS), I can’t imagine not using a custom aluminum radiator when you’ve basically been given a blank check for the build. Same with the brakes, first generation Explorer brakes? Throw some big four or six piston mono-block calipers on there and fit the rims to the rotors.
Love your sarcasm. I feel exactly the same way. I'll give only one example as there are so many more examples to give: Near the end of the Video at SEMA, the Directing Manager from Sonax stating that his company put in 250 man hours for the polishing of the paint on the Bronco. This is an astonishing amount of material and labor invested and is likely one of the smallest contributions. I'm sure that everyone and all the companies contributing to this Bronco did it for charitable reasons. A.K.A.: All parts, materials and labor were likely donated. We all know that it was for a good cause and I don't want to seem too antagonistic... Yet, it all seems like such a waste considering that $135,000.00 final bid. And at the same time, I feel like $135,000.00 was way too much for this Bronco. Next time they try to do a good deed, they need to set up a fund raiser. The fund raiser would better serve the charitable purpose without the extreme waste.
lol a couple thousand bucks for what exactly ??? the paint material cost more than that , labor would be another 5-7 grand for body and paint , there's 20-25 grand in body panels, 30 grand in drive train , 20-25 in chassis and axles another ten in suspension... never mind all the other little stuff probably adds up to another twenty ... then labor for all the other work , fitting the engine building the suspension interior etc etc etc ... so which part do you think would've only cost a couple grand ??? the wheels and tires??
I've got a '71 that I've picked up as a project that would be a great for you guys to make video on😉. Plus the setting would be on the Big Island of Hawaii...🤙
The old mullet guy would have repaired as much of the body as possible instead of media blasting while having all new parts laid out and just condemning the whole body. I look forward to this project but you took a cool truck and are just making a new truck with all new parts.
Stunning build. At 135k selling price... honestly with how expensive stuff is these days it's not that bad for all the work and man hours put into it. Probably 35k above an oem build of lesser quality and part strength.
very little of the money donated to these foundations and institutions actually go to those who need help, the Majority of the money donated will cover the cost of personnel vacations, cars, houses etc. Greed will out way a persons Morals nearly every time.
you can't transfer vin on any car ever !!!! when you build something like this you get a new vin from the secretary of state or dmv in your state , sometimes it's listed as a custom hot rod and sometimes you can list it as what you intended it to be , ie; a 74 ford bronco
Cool video, I find it hilarious that they kept basically nothing off of the original truck. They could have honestly just built a new one from scratch. I'd love to see them put as much of the old one back together as possible and see if it could still run.
To the previous owner of this Bronco, like myself you probably didn't have enough hours in the day to finish such a project. It happens, been there and done that.
@@1badapplepie And the aftermarket manufacturers make their crap extremely cheap, yet charge an inflated price. Because they know these fantasy rebuild shows will pay $$$$$$ for their cheaply designed garbage and never have to deal with part failure warranties as soon as the owner picks it up.
@@decibelinterference2033 Taillight warranties are the best (if you’re the vendor). Once I can no longer see your taillight, the warranty has expired :) The same undesirable evolution has happened in vintage motorcycle restorations. I’ve no idea how many great bikes of Japan were imported into USA, but fully 30 years since the very idea of restoring the bikes we’d had as teenagers in the 1970s began, there’s still a continuous flow of overpriced joy & junk flowing into UK at all times. For example the Suzuki & Kawasaki two stroke triples (the larger the displacement the better) are changing hands after show pony resto standards at upwards of £15-20,000. Just 10-15 years ago, you could still get real bargains like a few hundred unrestored, non runners with a few parts missing. That was genuinely fun, finding parts was analogue and slow. Now it’s chequebook restorations & while I’m grateful that all the skilled guys are out there, the romance is all but gone. I imagine some similar trends happened in other fields? I still say do it and cherish the old analogue engineering! Nobody is going to lust over a dented & sorry Audi RS6 in 25 years. One software change too many & the lunatic self appointed global elites will have banned private vehicle ownership. Unless they’re stopped by The Great Resist :)

When all the original parts are taken away it just doesn't feel the same. I know this is TV and they have a schedule, but try and find a project that will use mostly original stuff. It gives the feeling of breathing new life into something that is nearly 50 years old versus building a kit car.

I'm not worried about getting a lot of money for these parts, but I will ask if you could send me some photos of the build in process and completed. I brought these parts home so they wouldn't end up in a scrap yard and hopefully make their way to a good home.
i can't believe you put that dash in the truck with that big giant run in the paint!!
wow i saw that too, no way they let that slide
I understand where you guys went with this build simply because of scope and time, it would still be great to see the original tub and chassis saved and back in the original ginger bronze colour. Unless it already went to scrap last year.
My step dad had the 1st Gen for hunting here in Louisiana I’ll never forget one he snap the axle out on pipeline boy I was like 5 or 6 crazy yrs
Currently on #3 ,a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ . Very happy with all aspects including the dealership believe it or not. Always early second owner under 7k miles. Save up , then wait for the phone to ring.
I’m so glad you donated the money to a great cause

I love this guys. Make a new bronco from new parts. That is bad too the bone. The spot welder is the bomb.
Much Respect and thank you for your service
really sweet project and for a fabulous cause
I'm sat here still waiting for this "Restoration" you mentioned in the title to this . . . .
Man great videos I love Alfas and have owned 3 105’s. I wish I had another but they are pretty rare and really expensive in Oz. Also most of them have been restored now. So I am living vicariously through your channel thanks
Beautiful looking truck, guys. Congratulations on a wonderful build.
I totally understand the advantages and desirability of that +700 hp engine. That said, after seeing how complicated it is and how it had to be shoe-horned into place, I'd sacrifice 400hp for a simple 300hp pushrod 302 V8. Just my $.02 Cents.
Agreed 700hp is overkill
I prefer higher torque too , 700 hp is mega overkill for an offroad - suv class car
My first thought was that that was unnecessary.
It's a utility vehicle that you buy to drive in the mountains, and will go down dirt roads.
The stance, high and short wheelbase, is all wrong for that kind of power.
@@charlesvan13 100% agree.
@@hkguitar1984
They're building a hotrod, rather than an SUV.
Which solved problem.
so pretty much it was your fault why it was over heating i see now
@@funtyes1970 Heh. Nice sarcasm. Yet it is possible that the new owner may experience similar troubles. Hopefully the new owner either reads Mike's comment or comes to the same conclusion/solution in adding vents/induction to aid in dissipating the heat.
@mike noneya Passing on personal experience and educating others is always a bonus. Well done.
((( THIS WAS A BIG DAY!!! ))). 😅
PAPA ended up getting the ORIGINAL BRONCO......just like the one pictured here in your video: deep aqua color....WHITE TRIM HERE & THERE.....ALL very bright & pretty to my little nine year old girl 's heart..
......ALL FROM JUST A GLIMPSE OF THAT LITTLE AQUA 1966 BRONCO.
.
Congrats on 100 episodes dude! This one was awesome! Great burnouts 🤙🏽
That Bronco is getting better looking piece by piece 👍
It's obvious Steven is a man of very few words!
Wanna see an International Scout II BUT, keep it a simple BEAST!
Gorgeous built from the ground up, I couldn't bring myself to part with it, I'd be afraid to put a mile on it to drive it!!! I might have to put it on a Dyno to test the horse power?
No top no doors, and no seat belts
love the full build videos, i intend on watching all of them. :)
What a finish on this very very fine build. Well done boys and crew!
After watching twice I just parted my Bronco out and hauled the rest off to the recyclers.. Well, back to the minivan. Thanks for the "inspiration"...
Great to see. I had 3. 69, 71, 72. Built one with a 289 high perf from a Fairlane. A real sleeper in its day. I think it was probably the best truck I ever owned and the very best of Ford.
WOW, If I didn't know better the Toyota at 3:17:51 is mine. Other that the lift that was what I bought and drove for years
Would a 90s T-Bird radiator really be adequate for an 800hp crate motor? I seem to remember those cars having overheating issues with their stock engines (same as the Lincoln LS), I can’t imagine not using a custom aluminum radiator when you’ve basically been given a blank check for the build. Same with the brakes, first generation Explorer brakes? Throw some big four or six piston mono-block calipers on there and fit the rims to the rotors.
Awesome, great show and great old Ford 😀 👏
Honestly I kinda like the before more
Sure is nice. Im curious as to what all the parts and labor cost.
That dash looked awesome except for that big run in the middle of it.
Sweet! 42 million dollar's worth of equipment to do a couple thousand dollar job.
The fund raiser would better serve the charitable purpose without the extreme waste.
lol a couple thousand bucks for what exactly ??? the paint material cost more than that , labor would be another 5-7 grand for body and paint , there's 20-25 grand in body panels, 30 grand in drive train , 20-25 in chassis and axles another ten in suspension... never mind all the other little stuff probably adds up to another twenty ... then labor for all the other work , fitting the engine building the suspension interior etc etc etc ... so which part do you think would've only cost a couple grand ??? the wheels and tires??
luv those early broncos
I've got a '71 that I've picked up as a project that would be a great for you guys to make video on😉. Plus the setting would be on the Big Island of Hawaii...🤙
Could even cut some trees haha!
Dudes bought a 1974 Ford Bronco to rebuild and proceed to throw every part away and buy it new 😂
Just needed the Vin to make street legal
@@mudlovr well, this is the best and only explanation I've gotten so far, so you win 🥳😄👍
Damn if OJ would have had this bronco he would have definitely gotten away
Nice build, and I’m a Chevy guy! LOL I love these old trucks that started the SUV trend. I’m a car collector and one of mine is a 85 K5 Blazer.
Quite Epic…what a beautiful Bronco Love it🦾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gotta love the egro-nomics on that car-o-liner
The old mullet guy would have repaired as much of the body as possible instead of media blasting while having all new parts laid out and just condemning the whole body. I look forward to this project but you took a cool truck and are just making a new truck with all new parts.
Stunning build. At 135k selling price... honestly with how expensive stuff is these days it's not that bad for all the work and man hours put into it. Probably 35k above an oem build of lesser quality and part strength.
Great build, quality work. Seeing it go like that at SEMA is one of the truest tests of build quality today. From a Chevy guy, that Bronco is awesome.
More like building one than restoring.
Pretty cool replica
Yes! Finally a full build for Project Crazyhorse!
its a nice truck and they did a good job but personally i would have done a darker blue
This was a great watch!! Thank you!!
very little of the money donated to these foundations and institutions actually go to those who need help, the Majority of the money donated will cover the cost of personnel vacations, cars, houses etc. Greed will out way a persons Morals nearly every time.
I love these 3 hour builds. How's the VIN work for that though? Is it tranferrable in the US?
I'd like to know that aswell. But then again, in the US there could be an exceptional rule for one off builds?
rebodied vehicles are legal though kinda problematic
@@SuperGreyknight So how is the problem with the VIN solved then?
@@DomEngines In some states, you can transfer VINs to different bodies. Depends on if it passes safety inspection, some states don't allow it at all.
you can't transfer vin on any car ever !!!! when you build something like this you get a new vin from the secretary of state or dmv in your state , sometimes it's listed as a custom hot rod and sometimes you can list it as what you intended it to be , ie; a 74 ford bronco
Cool video, I find it hilarious that they kept basically nothing off of the original truck. They could have honestly just built a new one from scratch. I'd love to see them put as much of the old one back together as possible and see if it could still run.
Was a awesome build
To the previous owner of this Bronco, like myself you probably didn't have enough hours in the day to finish such a project.
It happens, been there and done that.
the 'didnt know how to finish it "kinda got under my skin. more like the insane prices shows like this have driven prices of gearhead projects too.
@@1badapplepie I can't disagree with you, $30K for just the engine.............not my cup of Tea at all.

Once I can no longer see your taillight, the warranty has expired :)
The same undesirable evolution has happened in vintage motorcycle restorations.
