    It's 2018 and it's gonna end few days from now and welcome 2019. I still love mine. :) More and more as I discovered things from it.

      It really is a wonderful unit. I have since bought the HX effects and if you think about upgrading I’m pretty positive you’ll love it. It does pretty much everything the m13 did and more and honestly it sounds. Better all while being more compact! Check one out!

    It's September 2020 and I just bought a used one on Reverb, was trying to decide whether to go with one of the other multi effect products like the Firehawk or Pod Go, but this one seems more straight forward. Thanks for sharing!

      No problem... it’s still a great unit as long as the switches are all in working order. Which was really the biggest downfall! Have fun, thanks for watching and commenting... it’s appreciated!

    dude I love mine. I sold a tone of my stuff but have always hung on to the m9. I just love that you can go in a tweak anything you want. its not perfect but just to have so many choices for delays in one spot.

    I love my m13. Bought it for $40 yes $40 from a buddy I used to be in a band with, he was moving to Texas and needed $40. 3 years later I'm still blown away that I got it for that. Lol

      Wow!!! Gotta love the old "I'm moving today and don't wanna carry this stuff deal!!!" I lived in Phoenix for a little while and the Craigslist for musicians was amazing because there was a recording school there and of course ASU so kids were constantly unloading stuff and "I'm moving home" prices lol! Thanks for watching Pete!

    I've been using one many years. The switches are catchy. I love mine. I traveled with mine. Bright sunlight isn't great. True.
    Bottom line. To me, this is a great sounding pedal.

      They do sound great the only reason I got rid of mine was because I went to the HX Effects which solves at least Most if not all the m-13's issues cheers!

    Sounds like you would like the pod HD 500. I just got rid of mine. I turned the amp modeling off and used the 4 cable method. It had an expression pedal too.

      You can change the screen to the scene name. But the display does still suffer in the bright outdoors.

    • @JobyP
      @JobyP  8 років тому

      +Billy Moon I actually don't like the hd500's because of the way they look... And I have the scene names programmed but they are just too small to read (for me) thanks for watching and commenting bruh!

    Great review. Honesty from an actual performing musician that actually uses the gear being reviewed. Thanks for sharing your time and your experience. My primary since it was first released has been a POD HD500X with an additional effects pedal added. And a better looper, a tuner, and an EQ added to the chain. Do you have a recommendation for a newer replacement for the M13? Thanks again for the great review.

      I use the HX Effects now and I am IN LOVE with it. I've had it a couple years now and have ZERO thoughts of replacing/selling it. It solved (Almost) every issue the m-series had

    Seriously, wanna get one of these, but I'm super concerned about the crappy switches.

    • @JobyP
      @JobyP  3 місяці тому +1

      @@Dog_Botherer Honestly … don’t. Get an HX FX instead. Yeah you can get these hella cheap now but the HX (while not without its own issues) does ALL of the same sounds + way more and the switches are Solid now. And really the only big complaint about the HX is sometimes for some people the ribbon cable inside comes loose needs to be put back in and hot glued. Never happened to mine but I’ve seen it.

    I am having trouble grasping the tap tempo settings. I have set different delay times within one scene so I can play different songs within that scene. However,the different songs have a different bpm. While gigging, it becomes difficult to manually tap the tempo for different songs programmed within that scene. How can I work around this?

    • @JobyP
      @JobyP  5 років тому

      What I did (I sold my m13 when the hxfx came out) was use each scene for (one) song and set the tap tempo (in global settings) to be per scene. This is actually how I run the HXFX now as well... However I always "set" the time on my delays and what not to be close and only use Tap if my drummer is way off on a song for some reason. I hope that all made sense.

    what so bad about distortion? I would guess touch dynamics and response to volume knob?

    • @JobyP
      @JobyP  3 роки тому

      Hi Andy… you are correct, but there’s more. To my ears personally Digital distortion, overdrive and Fuzz sound harsh and just not “correct” now that being said, This is my opinion and not fact. You may like them just fine. Also I would add sometimes those “harsh & inorganic” sounds can be … well… cool! You’ll have to try it out yourself cheers! And have fun!

    Why did you put compressor at the end of the signal chain? xD

    • @JobyP
      @JobyP  6 років тому

      It's not... It's a "Scene" so when you click that switch and change to that scene... Only the compressor was on and nothing else.

      @@JobyP Ok, I guess I understood. For example, for a single song you can use several scenes for different combinations of effects, right? I just bought m13 and still do not know all the tips. Thanks for answer!

      You could yes... basically each scene is a separate “pedal board” happy to help. Have fun!

    Line6 could have fixed the wah deal long ago. They gave up on this unit years ago like all their products. With a new firmware update you could add auto engage on the wah and add new effects. Unfortunately Line6 is shit and hasn't done a firmware update in over 2 or 3 years.

      jobyregrets I've talked to L6 for easily 3 years about the M13. They have no interest in it for some reason even though it would be a simple software update. It would be different if they discontinued the M13 but it's still made. The delay when using the 4CM is also way louder than the other effects and needs leveled out.
