I have lent towards Suzuki in the past, I would happily own either. Great review.

I’m 30 I have a beautiful Xs special. I fell in love with the thing. But there’s something soecial about that Suzuki sound

The reason why it sounds like that is because of the four into one exhaust. If Yamaha had the same exhaust set up, the Yamaha would sound similar.

@k.i.i.3699 Maybe. It would sound good, but probably different. My Kawasaki's sound different than my Suzukis with the same exhaust mounted.

Probably. Either way I’d rather leave these classic machines 100% stock. Sometimes it feels like a crime to break them apart and customize them. I think they are absolutely gorgeous machines fully stock.

@k.i.i.3699 I leave some stock, but I can't help making them function better, ride safer, handle better, etc.

Many thanks Jon for another highly enjoyable video! Big Suzuki fan here, I got a 1100 G earlier this year and am looking forward to starting working on it once the riding season here in England heads into winter. I managed to get the same small fairing that you have on yours and will soon get it painted to match my bike. Ride safe.

Enjoyed the comparison. I like the Suzuki as I've mentioned before. It has the looks that I like. But I also like standard XS1100. RIDE SAFE OUT THERE Jon!

Another great review! Handlebar cables and wiring looked a bit untidy on the Yamaha but what a beautiful bike.

When the 1977 Suzuki GS 750 came out it RULED among all other bikes in it's class with the best acceleration, comfort, handling, and smoothness. Then the GS 1000 and just added more of everything, maintaining the Crown. And to top it off, enter the GS 1100. These bikes were king of super bikes in the late 70's and well into the 80's. These bikes were extremely well engineered and designed, very reliable, and were the best bang for the buck in the industry.

I totally agree. That's why there are multiple GS1100s currently in the garage. Easy to ride with eye-opening performance - it's what makes a GS a GS! Cheers!

I love both of them, and would find it hard to pick one, however i love the colour scheme of the Midnight Special

Do you guys have the XS11OO Sport? Like the midnight special, but flatter bars and a bikini fairing. I put a Guiliari 2:4 seat and a Z650 tailpiece on mine, it was beautiful.

The Suzuki's pillion seat looks longer than the Yamaha's , is it more comfortable for the passenget ?

That's a great question. My wife likes the Suzuki for its top box with a pillion pad. I haven't taken any passengers on the Yamaha yet.

¡Salud!
