It's obvious, Randy is a hell of a nice guy...and a great player! People who never got to see Jimi Hendrix can get a little of what they missed...Thanks Brother!
Lol, I listened to about 11:00, thought to myself, "hell of a nice guy," and scrolled to the comments. Yours was the first comment I came to. Pretty funny.
I agree, one of the most, if not the most, pleasant entertaining interview.....I'm going to.his websight and check out when he'll be in my neck of the woods
I have been watching Randy since 78 and I can say if you never got to see Jimi , Randy is in my opinion the Best Hendrix act ever ! he truly has the gift and if Jimi was alive today he would be honored and probably call him Son .
Randy is truly one of the most Amazing shows I have ever seen, and I have seen many! Randy performs for the people 200% every time I see him. If you have never seen him live put it on your bucket list!!! He loves to travel to new places so tell your favorite Venue and watch him live!!!
Randy you deserve so much more fame and attention, people don't realize that the only one capable pf doing what you are doing had bee dead for over 50 years, and you have taken the roll as his apprentice and you became the master of your own twist on Hendrix, delivering the same style and feeling but with your own personal twist. You're a fkn treasure.
One of the best interviews with a performer I have ever witnessed. Sicks Stadium & Fosbury Flop,... talk about a quick trip down Memory Lane. That paying off Kevin for the nice words was/is funny too!!!!! May GOD Continue to Bless Both of YOU!!!!!
It's very cool, thanks to such an interview, to get to know a little better a guy, seen mostly as an impersonator. Randy Hansen is a nice AND talended person.
I think Randy Hansen has a great show. He's aexcellent player. I am appreciative what is doing and has done for the preservation and enhancement of Mr. Hendrix's artistry. A humble man.
Jimi was taken away from us to soon and thanks to Randy he keeps us all thinking about Jimi and what his music meant to us all. I was 12 yrs old and my older cousin who was 17 and his buddy were on their way to Woodstock and stopped at the house to ask my mom if I could come along. Needless to say my mother wouldn't let me go school came first and to this day I am still pissed off about not getting to see the Master at work
Saw randy when he played with Blackmore rainbow in Oakland and was shocked when randy headlined! Randy is the best hendrix impersonation I've ever heard. He can play every single note even all the live stuff and that is truly amazing
Randy on from England and think you are player of Jimmy songs l have ever seen l can not tell the difference that's how good you and your band are love ya brilliant
I saw this guy n 80/81 at the santa monica civic center...ridiculous awesome...so he is managed well...im just crashing n2 thez videoes...the angels ...ya! thank u
Randy carries the torch the best that he can! to me,he gets instant props! Hendrix isn't easy to play.some stuff yes but a lot of it takes time! this cool cat plays well! please come to Boston mass. guys !!!!
I had the privilige of meeting Randy and i have to say for the record what a sweet and humble guy he really is. A pure, peacefull and gentle soul AND a tremendous musical talent. I love the guy and what he does and i hope he'll be around forever. RESPECT. J
Randy fulfilled a dream so many of us had after hearing the sound of Jimi the first time....to play a guitar like he did. Randy has absolutely nailed it....I never thought anyone could ever do that. I saw him 2x...once at Newport '69....check out the pic I took from that concert...and once at the LA Forum....thanks Randy for bringing his spirit back! www.flickr.com/photos/67251862@N07/8232686881/in/album-72157628028234493/
I saw Randy twice, at the Roxy in LA in the late 70's, and at the Hollywood Bowl in the early eighties. Amazing!!!!! At one point, he took a big hit off a water-pipe (at the Roxy) and kept soloing!!! Then held a bottle of beer with his teeth, leaning his head back, and drank it all, and kept soloing!!!! He cruised through the audience, jammed right up on ya! Energetic and entertaining!!!!!!!!
The band I was with in the 70s played at the same club as Randy in Honolulu. I haven’t seen him since then. If I recall he’s pretty small, I'm guessing about 5'7" or so. I also remember he was painfully shy offstage, but just exploded when he went on. I never would have guessed he would make a lifelong career out of it. More power to him.
Randy u have definitely been touched by the spirit of Jimi. u are outrageous....and special.. Jesus Christ blessed u..may u live long and prosper.....ur brother Mark.....mm
Wow, I've seen lots of Randy's shows on youtube, but I have never seen him in an interview. He seems like a really nice guy. I loved the story about him seeing Jimi's boots as a kid. Hope you guys have loads of success on your tours & DVD sales. Take care!
What a wonderfull interview AND filmed on Holy Ground to top it all off. Thank you for sharing brother. Randy is the greatest fucking musical force and showman still alive today in my book. And the one and only true channeler of Jimi's Spirit hands down. There is something deep and profound and spiritual goin' on in the room when you watch him play,it's mindblowing. I f-i'ng love the guy, gonna see his 4th show this year next tuesday in Bremen,i can hardly wait. Thanx again,Peace. JB68
My only exposure to him has been you tube, anything less than Jimi too me is a let-down but from this interview i truly appreciate Mr. Hansen's effort. Please tell me he has created some music of his own....I'm too darn lazy.
I met you guys in a convenience store in Arlington Wa. last night (07-06-13) and I neglected to say you made my night!!! I wish I woulda known about the Huckleberry thing. At least I know where the papers are now. Thanks Randy! I'll catch ya one of these days.
