Can't knock the talent but in terms of advice on how to get a break like Alchemist. 1. Get born rich and live in Beverly Hills. 2. Start a Hip Hop crew with the son of a major Hollywood star, 3. Get signed despite not having any songs and go on tour with the biggest names in your era of Hip Hop while still in school. 4. Get them to show you how to make beats. 5. Get some more tips at the house of the most famous producer in music history etc etc. He's got an ear and talent no question but he's slightly skirting over how easy a lot of those opportunities came to him. for me, it's the beginning of a relationship, those rose colored lens. everything seems to be hitting in your 2-8 bar loop, but eventually you get over the "3 month" honeymoon phase. you either love it or you don't, could've all been in the moment or maybe you realize what you put in the work for is most special to you. This is the emotional part, you don't need a soul to listen to your beat but you're so proud of what you've done after listening to the same loop over and over again...like "damn, i made this? this shit is fire". smiles, laughs, you might even start playing that shit in your car. take your beat on a drive, take your beat to the park while you play ball, take it to the store in your headphones like you're talking to your girl or your best friend on the phone. i love producing, closing in on 500 beats but ti treated a lot of them like side pieces. that is a long ass paragraph. even if one person reads this, keep doing what you love and don't seek acknowledgement or recognition from anyone. money/payment does not define who you are as a producer. the industry is just politics, i gave up but that little hand flick i do when the beat drops? that shit isn't going away, ever.
Al was fortunate enough to have the path paved for him with who he knew and was plugged into. He took full advantage of his opportunities. He learned from legends and became a legend himself. Al had always been one of my favs. I remember buying albums just because it had a Chemist beat.
Love this interview! Amazing to hear my favorite producer tell his story and how things have changed for the better. I haven't felt inspired to create lately but after watching this I just gotta boot up the MPC and start working!

ÑBA leather tour, New Orleans, the next day was Earls birthday so he was the closing act, but Actions tour bus was stuck in I-10 traffic. they tried to strech out the opening sets before he was able to come on and MAAAAANANNNNNNNN when i say just watching Alc rip records in the front row was such an insane introduction to rap shows for me and so inspirational as an artist
Temples of Boom is one of my favorite albums and to now learn over 20 years later that Alchemist contributed to that album.🤯 I wonder what tracks he worked on?🤔
Just watched the whole thing and it was so inspiring. Alc has remained consistent over the years, super productive while keeping his sound original and even managing to improve itself. As a producer he is a huge source of inspiration. On top of all this he also seems like a pleasant person, which in this environment of sharks is no small feat. Long live uncle AL 🐐 Salute from Milan Italy.
Alchemist is easily in my top 5. I grew up listening to his stuff and still bump just about everything he puts out including instrumentals. This was a great watch. Hope to meet Alc one day.
What's your all-time favorite Alchemist beat?
We'll go first: "Keep It Thoro" by Prodigy
"Dead End Street" by Buc Fifty
"We Gonna Make It" by Jadakiss
"Got It Twisted" by Mobb Deep. That Thomas Dolby sample was way ahead of its time, and it still hits hard today.

that is a long ass paragraph. even if one person reads this, keep doing what you love and don't seek acknowledgement or recognition from anyone. money/payment does not define who you are as a producer. the industry is just politics, i gave up but that little hand flick i do when the beat drops? that shit isn't going away, ever.
I appreciate hearing AL's story! He kept reinventing himself at every turn and is at the top of his game right now!
this is probably one of the most valuable interviews I've watched/listened to. I have even more respect for Al now than ever before. amazing
Alchemist is a GOAT! Been rocking with him since I first heard his beats on Defari LP in 98’
I have been looking for Noah ever since his Complex Blueprint days. So glad I found this chanell!!!
glad you're here!
Alchemist has been a consistent undercurrent in Hip-Hop for forever. His best is yet to come I think and i'm looking forward to it.
I agree. His best work will be with an artist(s) like Navy blue, Earl, MIKE, Boldy James. I like what he's doing with the young generation
Al was fortunate enough to have the path paved for him with who he knew and was plugged into. He took full advantage of his opportunities. He learned from legends and became a legend himself. Al had always been one of my favs. I remember buying albums just because it had a Chemist beat.
Love how this channel is growing, you deserve it
Uncle Al is an OG and this is my first time seeing an interview with him and he seems like I thought he would, cool, humble, creative and in tune
Been rocking with ALC since the 90's!...He is by far the dopest producer of my generation.
Al is truly the goat, this is probably the best interview I've seen with him. thank you for sharing 🙏
Truely inspiration.... DOPE to hear Uncle Al talk so freely on his craft. Much success bru🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👊💯🇬🇧
Larry June bought me here , so thankful for this video . Al is an incredible mind , his selflessness & drive separates him from the crowd 🍊📈
Love this interview! Amazing to hear my favorite producer tell his story and how things have changed for the better. I haven't felt inspired to create lately but after watching this I just gotta boot up the MPC and start working!
have been loving alchemist beats for the last 25 years, and watching this made me appreciate him MUCH more as a person. Seems like an awesome guy. Keep up the great work!
Alchy deserves all the flowers, glad to see him painted in such a way💯💪🏾
This is literally the best thing that happened to me in a while. Brilliant.
We needed. This well done. Thanks Noah. You are still one of my favourite interviewers ever, you know how to carry the chat and make people open up. AL great interview
This guy has some of the greatest interviews of all time.
the best shit to wake n bake to.
Alchemist production stands the test of time. Feels like he gets better and better which is insane at this point in his career.
very motivating, a Curren$y episode would be great as well
Bomb work, Noah -- love the way you continually get your guests to open up and feel relaxed enough to keep it a hunned!
Man this was amazing, so good hearing all this straight from the mind of one of the most underrated producers in the game, and damn the history behind it all? Man is an inspiration.
Most in depth interview ever with Al ever. Thanks for this, learned a lot!
Honored to met him once, real humble person, very passionate, nice talk with him plus that dro was fire 😂
This interview is INSPIRATIONAL
Al is a legend and inspiration. Wish I would have watched this a long time ago. Thanks for putting this out there
Temples of Boom is one of my favorite albums and to now learn over 20 years later that Alchemist contributed to that album.🤯 I wonder what tracks he worked on?🤔
I got the same mixed thoughts going through my head too like damn I never would’ve thought unless I saw this video. Thank you too IDEA Generation
alchemist we can't lose you, stay on this earth making the classics you known for !
I never knew some of the details Al shared during this interview! Added a whole new level of respect I have for him 🙏
Al just keeps getting better and better. Dude is blessed.
Dude is a true legend.
Alchemist has fathered about 3 generations of your favorite artists by now, and he's showing ZERO signs of slowing down.
Al says don't call him a Legend ha. He says he still has gas in the tank. Put the flowers in some water
Alc has this raw, rich sound that is hard to describe- his chops are clean!
Covert Coup is a HELLUVA album!!!
Long live uncle AL 🐐
Salute from Milan Italy.
Alchemist is easily in my top 5. I grew up listening to his stuff and still bump just about everything he puts out including instrumentals. This was a great watch. Hope to meet Alc one day.
Another great interview bring more diverse artists
