And now any time I see a video of him either with a pick in his mouth or a cigarette I'm deeply saddened because one or the other took the greatest guitar player of all time away from us much too soon.

Yeah, like that's totally never been done before. Also, does all of it have to be 80's music? Some of it's good but of the bands you listed, AC/DC is the only one that I like and even they aren't likely to show up on my playlists.
How could everyone unite through music if everyone's taste in music is different? Hell, play 3 or 4 Metallica songs in a row and I'll want to fight my way out of whatever environment has me trapped in with it. I'd only volunteer to subject myself to a prolonged playing of Metallica, U2 or Queen if I was being payed.
