- This video is a #COMPLETELYUNBIASED #RVREVIEW of the 2021 @ForestRiverInc Rockwood Mini Lite 2509S towable #traveltrailer. The #RockwoodMiniLite is a really nice trailer and it felt really homey. We loved the Murphy bed/couch combo and how easy it is to use as well as the large sized bunks and dinette. We weren't thrilled about the how when the slide was in it blocked the space but we did have a fix for it and we always wish for more exterior storage but you can't have it all right. To get the bigger front storage we would have to give up the #MurphyBed.
The Mini Lite 2509S is a nice and spacious but #smallfloorplan and would be great for the #RVSometimers, snowbird, full-timer, or vacationer/weekender. It would be great for a couple or a solo traveller if they had a primary need for the bunks like pets, office space or something like that otherwise this is really a family rig.

Glad you liked it. We are always honest and there is no perfect RV. It's all about pros an cons and what each person's personal priorities and needs are. Having said that you should watch again to see how many times I say 'I love that' cause we really did like this trailer a lot. Just because we identify the parts that don't really work for us or we would like different does not mean we don't like a rig. We are pretty big fans of this one. Hope that clarifies things for you. Great review. The 2509s is one of my favorite trailers because it really packs a lot into that 25' length and offers a murphy bed that looks nice and doesn't fold the mattress when you put it away. Just wish the windows were larger and let in more light as it is a dark trailer compared to many others.
FYI for anyone who may be wondering, the access by the dinette and below the pantry closet is for the water filter and the selector valve to switch between fresh tank and antifreeze pipe, the one by the entry door is for the hot water heater winterizing valves.

We kinda have a thing for the Murphy beds ;) We wish all windows in Travel Trailers were bigger (exception the amazingly wonderful 5th wheels) you can never have enough light and the ability to see the great outdoors. #1, Always love you and Cory's videos! But let's see if anyone else agrees with me on how we watch your's or anyone else's video's on any trailer there thinking of buying. For me I find the walk around outside boring and skip right to the inside part where in my opinion most people would decide if the unit is going to work for them or not. Then I look at the price, if that all works out then I'll go back and look at the outside. In other words, for me I'd like to see the inside, before the outside. I'll be interested to hear if other people agree with me.
Glad you like our reviews, and we know there are some folks that want to see the inside first and others that want the outside first. We find the flow is much better doing outside than inside. We will try to add a floor plan drawing and we will start to time stamp the sections in the video description so that in one click you can be at whatever section you want. We do put the black title clips in places to help folks that are scrolling so hopefully the time stamping will help you even more. Thanks for your feedback.
Love your videos!! A suggestion would be to do a scan or panoramic view of the layout so we can get a visual of the room from an end. Also a snap of the floor plans could be nice on the videos. But I really like your knowledge and commentary on your videos. We just purchased a Rockwood 2706 one week ago. Your video that demonstrated how ROCKWOOD’s and flagstaffs are built was extremely helpful. Good work and keep it up!

Wow, that really is a high microwave. Mine is a bit high in my trailer too. I use as a breadbox, if the contents fall on my head it doesn't hurt 😂. Not sure about the Murphy Bed. Lots of storage in that unit. The wood around the edge of the table is good. In past trailer I have had the laminate separate on the edges. Good video as always.

We ordered this trailer with the lighter ash interior and like that better than this dark color.
They have a nicer kitchen faucet as an option that we got.
The LED lights are super bright also.

I am 5'6" tall and my wife is 5'2" tall. I have seen many reviews on this unit but you were the first to show me that there may be a problem with our size and the ease-of-use available to us. We are also both senior citizens...your thoughts?
Our main thoughts are that every RV has it's features and challenges and which one is the right one for you really depends more on your priorities than your size or age. In any RV it's a give and take. For example, in this one you may have to climb up on the couch to get the Murphy bed down and if you're not into that then you should probably get an RV with a made up bed but that will probably mean having to give up space. Or if that couch is super important to you then you may have to look for a different floor plan or a bigger trailer. Sit down make a list and pick your priorities, simplicity, comfort, size, etc... and then you can decide what you are willing to compromise on. It's important to know what it takes to use the versatile spaces when you are looking at different RVs so that you can ask yourself am I really going to do that? or be ok doing that everyday? or maybe it is a feature you will only have to do once in awhile that would change it's effect on you. Each of us has different things we are willing to compromise on and you have to figure out what that is for you. Hope that helps some. Thanks for watching.
Great Video and solid information. I am also concerned about the height of the microwave. For a height reference, how tall are you? Can you order this without the outside kitchen? I would rather have an outdoor access to the storage under the bunk. I wish the would add a vacuumed for sweeping the floor.

Can the bathroom be accessed with the slide in?

Turn the table on its side and you can still access the bathroom, bunks, kitchen, etc.
It would be great if some how when your reviewing any trailers with slide outs if you could slide it in instead of having to guess what you can get to with the slider in. This would be a huge deciding factor when buying in my opinion. I know some friends of mine just bought a Jayco RV with a slider and the main they bought it was because with the slider in they still had access to everything.
We feel the same way about slides. Because of our travel style we do lots of 1 night stop overs and we need the access with slides in to. Unfortunately, when we are reviewing RVs they are not hooked up to power and most often don't have the batteries on them so we don't have the power needed to move the slides in and out so that we can show the difference. If ever an opportunity comes up that we have the power and the dealership is ok with it we will film it for you. It's an important detail. We do invite owner's to share their knowledge and experience with us in the comments and on the other similar Rockwood Mini Lite with a similar floor plan but no bunks an owner did tell us that the slide came to exactly where we thought it did. Is that the bottom of your couch and matress exposed to the basement storage ?? Thats pretty crappy to say the least.
Under the couch is the same space as the pass thru storage yes, which is very common whether that be a couch, bed, kitchen cabinet etc... from most manufacturers but no the bed frame and mattress are on a platform that sits on top of the couch cushions and is not exposed to the storage area. If you watch the video again you will see how the bed comes down to show all of this. If you are looking for something where the storage is completely closed off you will probably have better luck looking at trailers without pass through storage but 2 separate compartments or a much larger heavy class of RV.
