KotOR 2: HK-47 talks about Revan, Carth, & Bastila

- How much did HK REALLY know about his former companions in K1? And did he SPY on Revan and Bastila during their more private moments?
If you get pretty high influence with HK, this is one of the funnier conversations that you can have with him. :p It should be noted that in this instance, I told Atton that Revan was a dark-sided male at the beginning of my game.
STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords belongs to Obsidian Entertainment and LucasArts.

"90SK's K1 Robes for TSL" by 90SK (CaptainSkye)
That might be the funniest line Jennifer Hale has ever delivered.
Alexander Panayi wait wut
I wonder how Jennifer Hale managed to get through that without laughing
@@jimhuffman9434 probably by being a professional actress
@@JJJJJJJJJAAAAAA lots of professional actors and actresses laugh at scenes like that a bunch of times before composing themselves and getting through it
@@christopherhall5361 ...right. Like professionals.
HK’s memory was 100% accurate
Well, he's a machine. Aside from occasional memory wipe (or damage to databanks) he does not forget anything.
In my playthrough I had gotten most of Carth's trust issues settled before we picked up HK. However that was because I spent so much time lost on Taris that they were mostly settled before I met Bastila.
@@TheShadowSentinel Woosh.
"He developed qualities such as mercy, compassion, and even love for others. It was really rather revolting." Ha ha ha I love hk47
Statement: Mercy... *projectile vomit*
Mockery: "Oh master, you ain't my father, and I ain't a kid! I simply blame other people for getting abandoned by my brother!"
Mockery: Oh master! I am a monster of darkness for hurting my teacher! Thus I shall blame you for your pupil's destruction of my homeworld, despite how much of a living hell it was growing up there!
Mockery: Oh master, I'm really old and really wise but stop asking me questions, I'm grumpy because I am old!
Mockery: "I don't care where we are and I don't want to talk about anything because this is not my homeworld, and even when we get to my homeworld I don't want to do anything anyway."
Mockery: master, have you ever heard how much of a hero I was in Mandalore even though our side lost miserably? No, you don’t need adrenaline, you’ll wear out that pathetic meatbag body.
Mockery: "Oh Master. All I do is move around the ship all day, because my personality has yet to fully form since I am fresh off the assembly line. And I am a useless Bucket of bolts."
Imagine if he did an impersonation of Canderous, the exile would be like "Wait, Mandalore?! WHY DO HALF MY COMPANIONS HAVE SOME SORT OF RELATION TO REVAN??" XD idk
Mockery: "Oh, master, because you humiliated me and wiped out almost my entire culture, I will stand by your side no matter which meatbag variety you fight this month!"
Funny line. But he didn't wipe them out, just removed their symbol of unity and scattered them.
@@Avenger85438
True, bt he still pretty much forced them to surrender and killed most of them. They were "scattered, broken and lost". Had Revan not given Canderous his mission(or motivation if he is darksided) the Mandalorians would have been extinguished for good.
if he did that, Canderous will destroy him
Nice. This confirms that teasing Bastilla all the time in KOTOR 1 served its purpose even if I didn't actually see it.
Except that you could get her to kiss revan. Just not in the cargo hold but in what's Kreia's chambers in Kotor2.
@@nico89SFX mods doesn't count bro
@@ElFenixNocturno not a mod lol
@Zoe Kin Juhani's lesbian
Zoe Kin You could romance Juhani as a girl. Bastila just isn’t gay.
Mockery: *a series of Wookie growls that translates to “Wah, I hate my big brother! Wah!”*
Question: would that by chance be a reference to the Star Wars Holiday Special featuring the Wookie family?
@@ReiseLukas Answer: No
Hk-47's impersonation of Bastila never fails to make me laugh.
"Oh Master! I think we should press our slimy, mucus-covered lips together in the cargo hold!"
Obsidian, where is my KOTOR 3?
A question we've all been asking for 10 years no doubt. Even if a KOTOR 3 is never made (for some inexplicable reason) at the very least I'd like an anniversary edition of both 1 and 2 with updated graphics and all previously cut content included. If that's not too much to ask. Can you imagine playing this on next gen?
Ben Mallinder i'm dreaming
Seconded. TOR will never count as canon to me, not in a million years.
Would you really want Obsidian and not BioWare doing it? Although, after Mass Effect...
ShinXari
Unfortunately, the boys at TOR have written in Revan's return and seem to be setting him up as the Red Comet, er, no, as Rau le Creuset, er--as the Omnicidal maniac, there, I said it, are you happy now? They're gonna kill off Revan!
Christ, 3rd Birthday, anyone?
"Master, I must admit I enjoy when you are so authoritative and dismissive towards me."
HK-47 is a sub confirmed
Oh my fucking God 😂
But it makes me think what he was going to ask?
HK-47 is a switch, let's be real
I just love that Droid.. Same with Canderous!
his war-stories were just epic!
you dropped from orbit riding a droid?!
Haha and then in Kotor 2 you see it's a droid... sort of.
A semi-sentient droid, yes...
"I appreciate when you are so authoritative and dismissive of me."
*DUN DUN DUUUN DUUUUUUN!*
2:24 - 3:04 HK-47 should do stand-up comedy on the Death Star! He totally pegged Carth and Bastila there! I would've liked to hear him do a mockery about Juhani or even Canderous!
+99thJediWarrior Yeah. And... I don't think anyone ever says something like "mucus-filled lips together," so he can impersonate people, alright...
He'd be a great stand-up comedian indeed...
+sebool112 The joke is HK doesn't understand the concept of kissing, he got their personalities right though.
Dylan McChald Riiight, I forgot about that one...
Agreed.
+sebool112 We hate everything you say you sarcastic fucking idiot
>juhani
hahahahah who?
HK-47 breaking the 4th wall in such a sneaky way.
Best droid ever. I love the fact that he enjoys it (And you get influence) for literally telling him to fuck off xD
I love HK-47
Darth Sidious and who doesn't??
I love Hanharr
Sidious hes my droid back off.
Answer : oh master, i don't need such emotionnals compliments... It's make me feels uncomforted and disgusted...
@@darthrevan5609 lol
Personally, I find HK-47 to be quite humorous.
2:43
Meetra would have recognized Bastila's voice, lol. Imagine the storm of thoughts in her head as she listened.
How Jen delivers “cargo hold” just always gets me
I think it’s a reference how Boba pronounced it in Ep 5
That dark side music stinger is so god damn jarring
***** Or get the notification that what action you did in real life was light side or dark side. Or if you are a mass effect fan paragon or renegade. lol
profjf naah not mass effect i would prefer fallout
because in mass effect paragon or renegade is not good or evil it is simply a choice between practicality and compassion
while in fallout it IS good and evil
Red Pyro I guess it is all what your personal game you wanna go after to decide how choices taken affect your path.
Malcis 3:44
HK-47: "Query: master, have you heard that?"
Exile: "What, you mean that evil tune that just played in the background?"
HK-47: "Statement: yes."
Exile: "No."
+Malcis Yeah, it just makes things a little too goofy.
"Master, I have a question!"
"Shaddup."
DUUUN DUUUUNN DUUUN DUUUUUUUUUUN DUN DUUNN!
It's like something you'd only do in a comedy.
god damn HK47 was genuinely funny, lol
I legit choked when carth and bastilla were mocked
2:43 The "I hate everything you stand for" part doesn't apply so much if you were playing light side. Also, it wasn't the cargo hold, it was one of the bedrooms. And I think they pressed more than their lips together.
lol HK47 is simply the greatest droid in all of Star Wars
Chris Avellone (Obsidian) is probably what made KOTOR II so great. He immersed himself for weeks in all manners of star wars films, books and comics before even started writing KOTOR II. That's why the storytelling is so good. He's also the guy who wrote Durance and Grieving Mother for PoE.
Sadly he's just recently left Obsidian, I REALLY hate EA for not giving Obsidian and Chris the chance to make KOTOR III while they had it. I hope I'm wrong and that Chris has gone to work on KOTOR III somewhere else. But odds are not high.
I fear BioWare will make KOTOR III and the BioWare of today is not what it was before. The ending of ME3 is infamous, DA2 was average at best, DA3 was outright horrible. There is no way they could tackle KOTOR III with those writers and do it justice.
shingnosis there won't be a third kotor; the whole franchise was tossed outside the window together with TOR when Disney took over. sure, they will eventually make another star wars rpg and it might even be just as good but it'll probably revolve around the upcoming trilogy
+shingnosis Another example why BioWare should specify which divisions work on their games, the mmo was by Austin, the first one, DA and ME by Edmonton, sequels by part of Edmonton moving and making up Montreal.
+shingnosis Bioware Edmonton is still a good developer. The ME3 ending was less than ideal yes, but that was mainly because Karpyshyn left. The original development ME3 ending would have been a brutal choice and an excellent finish to the trilogy. I'd have faith in them if they made something that was spiritually Kotor 3.
EA killed ME :(
Well maybe he did his homework but he didn't make it right, there's a lot of contradictions to kotor in tsl
You know this is Star Wars because it’s incredibly interesting dialogue and expands an already expansive universe, but it starts with a droid, which has no lungs, imitating a sigh. Lol
It was just a programed expression given to by HK-47 by Revan.
Subtle Obsidian ragging on Bioware writing?
Not so subtle. It's the reason why there are no full-fledged "classic" romance options in TSL. Bastila nd Carth were insufferable children in the first game, so this mockery placed a smile on my face.
Well, *I* didn't see it that way; I adore both Bastila and Carth, and I saw HK's mockery as merely his own personal feelings toward the meatbags, who he would have gunned down without hesitation had Revan ordered him.
I never considered that it might be Obsidian passing judgement on Bioware.
Well, it was annoying you were forced into a romance with Bastila, whether you liked it or not.
ltflak Not true. You can easily avoid it.
brandonburnes How? I tried avoiding it, yet somehow the conversation at the end on the Star Forge steered towards "I love you" to Bastila.
I told Atton that Revan was a light-sided female, and HK-47 talked only about Carth.
That's really funny!
Major Dora years later, I realized why!
If you play KOTOR 1 as a female (light side or grey), you can kill (dark-sided) Bastila in the end battle and still end up with the light-sided ending
If you choose Revan to be a Dark Lord, Bastilla's line is much funnier.
Because it becomes real.
Remember these moments repeated to glory?
Ahh my leg, addendum
I used you, i used you, and I used you
Are you sure your a Jedi?
Through you it acquires it's character and strength and through it...
A lot of credits to be made around here
Czerkas mercenaries are getting out of hand
Don't cause any more trouble
Another interruption...you must not know who I am
Omg. The nostalgia xD
2:42 Why the hell was HK-47 spying on Revan and Bastila while they were...you know
He simply have good hearing lol
It's probably more like he knows they loved each other so he was just implying lol
@@deathboyinc Still, if Revan heard HK-47 copying Bastila's voice like that, I'm pretty sure he'd be pissed
@@jimhuffman9434 you talking about a person who find hk hilarious for calling malak meatbag thus he reprogram hk to call every organic "meatbag". why scalling up hk troll tendency if he easily insulted by this? If anything revan will use hk to tease bastila even more.
Revan would laugh his ass off if he heard all this
"Conclusion: Such pheromone driven human responses never cease to decrease the charge in my capacitors and make me wish I could press a blaster pistol to my behavior core and pull the trigger." Me whenever I am debating a topic with someone that should not involve emotion, and they interject emotion into it.
a pretty eloquent way to describe that he wants to kill/destroy himself
Shouldn't it be "hormone-driven"? I'm pretty sure humans don't have pheromones.
Sounds like someone failed the basics of debate and rebuttal. Pathos, ethos, logos, appealing to emotion, authority, and logic. If you can't handle someone being more effective at pathos, or their pathos is more driving than your logic and authority on the matter, I'm afraid you just suck.
@@dragonslair951167 we do but our behavior is not all that dependent on smell all things considered like wasps or ants.
edit: Actually I did like 10 seconds of google search on pheromones and it mentions saliva (and almost every other bodily fluid that can be healthily excreted by the body one way or another) has potential to carry such pheromones. Perhaps this is what HK was referring to.
@@vorpalweapon4814 Well, what I got from a google search is that there are currently no pheromones that are scientifically proven to influence human behavior in any way. It still seems to be largely the stuff of speculative fiction.
The Bastilla impression killed me!
Oh god the carth bit killed me
Revan, Canderous, Carth, and HK-47. The star wars A-team!
LMAO my god "My master had quite the collection of tortured individuals that seemed unable to confront their basic personality conflicts." hit the nail right on the fucking head with that one, HK could be a licensed therapist at this point!
HK-47's last statement makes it sound like he's into some S & M.
I love his talks about Revan, it reminds me of my instant death brought by my dark side character. I also love HK-47's pitch range. (high voice) he traveled from a high point, (low voice) to a low point, (higher voice) and back up to his full potential.
Why do I have a feeling it was more of the Obsidian mocking Bioware writing than HK mocking Bastila and Carth.
"I am pleased that this does not seem to be the case with your current entourage."
"Maybe you should turn your photoreceptors up a little more and pay more attention."
lawl
"Conclusion: Such pheromone-driven human responses never cease to decrease the charge in my capacitors and make me wish I could press a blaster pistol to my behavior core and pull the trigger." I loved that part. HK-47 was the best character in the KOTOR games.
BAHAHAHA!! That was pretty funny!
+Tempest Wing Yea! He had Carth and Bastila nailed! He should do stand-up on the Death Star!
i live for this part every time 3:44
K2SO is the sarcastic brother of c3po but the twin brother of hk47
The RecStudi0 Naw more like K2 is the love child of 3P0 and HK... btw HK was in the mmo star wars galaxies... or was it star war galaxy i dont remember lol but 3P0 and HK were in the same time period once Which means they could have designed K2 (Although that’s incredibly unlikely) if you mix cannon and legends...
@@gwenblagdon8199 there's a droid in the Aftermath books that the author admitted was inspired by HK-47. He's a modified B-1 Battle Droid named Mr. Bones. (Get it? B-one. Bone. Yeah, the name is a bad pun.)
I laughed so hard when this part came up.
It funny how the impersonation was accurate, but over exaggerated
how could anyone not love this guy. hes awesome ^^ thanks for uploading this :)
"Mockery: Bah, master, I'd like to tell you my whole story, but I'm old, dammit."
I never explored all the dialog in KOTOR 2, ever time I play through I find more and more, I hadn't found this before
Rofl...Bastila's was by the best...Damn that was a good one. HK has to impersonate her more often!
Thank you for making this! I'm still laughing over it... :P
Best Carth impression EVER!
Did HK just rag on the writers of the dialogue for Kotor 1? Damn! Even back then, Obsidion knew they had BioWare beat in the writing department!
An awesome point of view from our awesome assassin droid. Thanks for the videos!
I remember when this video was new. Good Times.
Kotor: Best game ever.
words can't explain how much I love ths character xD
Oh the mockeries were *perfect*. Despite KotOR II not being as good as the first, these little moments are just worth it:D
HK is one of rthe best parts of KoToR, the guy who implemented him was a genius of witty humour.
I love HK-47. What an awesome character, heh. :D
2:35 Was that Carth Onasi and Bastila Shan's voice?
I can't wait till New Vegas. Every time I'm reminded of Kotor 2, I'm awed by how well written it was. The sheer depth was staggering, and I don't think I've run into a game where the final boss for an area is a conversation like with atris, but it works so perfectly just because the dialog was so spot on.
Well, i hope New Vegas does satisfy you.
depends what you mean. in terms of story, i personally loved the first game so much more, but because the second one was rushed if they had had more time it could have been a lot better. revan's companions, to me, were better too, compared to the exile's. however in terms of gameplay etc. the second one is a lot better. something else that was cool is that the exile's companions talk amongst each other a lot more and you get to play as them which i really liked. this is my own opinion though :P
OH MY GOD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THIS CAN BE DONE WITHOUT MODS!!! I NEED THIS!!!
You just need high influence
"i think we should go press our slimy, mucus-covered lips together in the cargo hold!" HAHAHAHA
this game is fcking amazing! best Star Wars game and possibly one of the best games of all times.
wherever my master traveled, destruction and death were assured.
Odd thing is, when you play Old Republic you meet Revan who was in stasis for 300 years and HK-47 is there guarding him. obviously HK managed to find where he had gone
2:44 I wonder how many attempts it took Jennifer Hale to say that
@dragonbukid Words can not describe how awesome you are now. I'm shedding a tear in nostalgia, and that's not often done.
Bravo, sir, bravo.
2:42 hah hah hah hah..
If Jennifer Hale kept a straight face while reciting that line, then she has to be the greatest voice actor of modern video games.
this is just one reason why KOTOR rocks.
I love all the characters but he is definitely in the top 5.
Ahh, I'd love it if the HK units are in the Old Republic. Thanks for putting this up?
all of that great build up and mystery, thrown down the toilet in SWTOR.
You've got to use the computer terminal where the bunks are to unlock the library door.
lol that one droid guy at the end was like eavesdropping so ninja like
Mockery: 2:42 lmao the best thing of HK is his dark humor.
awesome!i love all your clips!how many time have you played kotor 1 and 2?
why do i get the feeling that obsidian was actively mocking bioware
Haha, it figures that you'd get DS points and influence with HK at the same time.
those "roger roger" droids are why cheper to make in larg numbers but they did have some tuff droid comandoes in the episode "rukys" of the new clone wars show
I'd never heard this conversation before as I don't usually get influence with HK-47 but the dialogue where HK-47 mimicks Bastila was the funniest thing HK-47 has ever done
i want kotor 3
HK47 in the first game was a funny, but thats pretty much it. I'm glad they added depth to his character in the 2nd game. Hearing his tactics on taking down jedis, as well as his theories on why he was created was quite enlightening and a refreshing change from 'i enjoy killing people, herp derp'.
I never got around to fixing up HK and for that I am pisseeddddd.
i think this is the best of HK47
ha Was i the only one that burst out laughthing at his piss take at bastilla I sounded like a lunatic for a second there
no, you're not the only one
LMFao
The carth and bastilla impressions are fucken awesome
On kotor 1 you have to be revan and I fixed hk 47 memory
YES! I have a link for you! I'll put it in the description for my "Renegade Kaidan" vid!
HK 47 is a god he knows how to kill Jedi knows how to imitate peoples voice and he knows how to assassinate people
And he can see the future
It was based on the short-lived Star Wars tabletop roleplaying game, which was heavily based on Dungeons and Dragons
I just LOVE HK-47's honest answers:D
I hope we can have the honor of meeting HK47 in SWTOR and see what he has to say about all thats happened in his world recently
Quite a conversation =) I always wanted to have smth more of the K1 party in KOTOR2. Perhaps not like members of the Ebon Hawk crew, but at least as characters, that we might find on one planet or another.
The Music in the Background is in SWTOR(mmo) the music you here on Ord Mantel as either the Trooper or the Smuggler.
LOL "Press the trigger on a laser pistol to my behavior core"
"Oh master! I do not trust you!"
poor jennifer hale, having to deliver such lines hahaha. But i have to say it was VERY well done
lol, nice impressions from HK-47 there
lmao his impersonations of carth and bastila were hilarious.
That...was pure win. I think that one scene may have been enough to save this game :p
