- The X-Men are a fictional superhero team from the Marvel Comics Universe. They first appeared in The X-Men #1, released in September 1963, and were conceived by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Over the years, the X-Men franchise has expanded to become one of the World's most popular comic book franchises, spawning countless of spin-off series and, most crucially, the critically acclaimed film series, as well as launching the careers of several of its authors and illustrators. Many X-Men such as Wolverine, Storm and Cyclops are widely known and recognised in the Marvel Universe and fans however, there are some mutants who aren’t as popular but just as interesting.
All throughout X-Men mythos, one unknown mutant has managed to stay under the radar while also becoming a fan favourite. Bishop, a time-traveling ambiguous anti-hero from a nightmarish future who is taken back in time to avoid a disaster, is the mutant in question. Bishop, the time-traveling anti-hero, is the one of the X-most Men's intriguing and mysterious members. This means that many of his supporters are unfamiliar with him. Bishop has aided and damaged the future timeline he worked so hard to avoid going along the road. His foresight and knowledge of future events are tempered by his rash and impetuous decision-making, which turns him from heroic to villainous and back again. Beyond his proclivity for time-traveling, there's a lot about this guy that only ardent fans are aware of and this video is all about him, so fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a ride through time. - Розваги
Bishop is my favorite X-Man.
I hope we get to see him in the MCU
X men DOFP is criminally UNDERRATED my all time favorite superhero movie
Bishop is underrated. Method Man wanted to play him in an Xmen movie! Years before he was in X-Men 3. I hope we get to see him in the MCU somehow
Interesting, I didn’t know that
very awesome to know this
He was in X3? I could've sworn he didn't show up 'til Days of Future Past...
@@suziwolf4830 oops yeah that's what I meant, when he fights the sentinels at the beginning
Interesting
glad you talked about Bishop I loved that guy as a kid
Loved this guy when he was new. He's like the more applicable version of Sebastian shaw, can't get overloaded if he's popping back at u, and this man's quicker on that trigger than slick Rick lol
You guys really crank out the content, hell yes. This quickly becoming one of favorite channels
Ya it's great
Word.
One of my favorites besides psylock
80s and 90s kids who watched X-Men, the Animated Series, know how significant this mutant is.
I always loved Bishop and all of his appearances. Dude is a badass!
My favorite thing Bishop did was during a Danger Room exercise. A holographic Apocalypse grabbed him by the throat and threatened to kill him unless the other X-Men backed off. Bishop pulled a concealed pistol, put it to his own head, and said he would rather kill himself than be used as a living shield.
Was this in a comic?
@@matthewschwartz6607 yeah, one of the X-Men Annuals from the late 90's.
Definitely one of my top 5 X-man:
Cyclops
Jubilee
Rogue
Wolverine
Bishop
Ga,bit maybe ?
And Magneto.
@@matthewschwartz6607 I was talking about Xavier Academy, but in the X-man series as a whole? Magneto is top three for sure.
@@LilySteph1949 Gambit is definitely top 10
Nightcrawler
I liked the day's of future's past and the X-Men 90's toon version of bishop
His internal compass and clock are a mutant ability, part of his "Secondary Mutation" It's merely suspected that his time travel shenanigans spurred on the manifestation of this secondary mutation, similar to how "Mutates" work in Marvel.
Love bishop! I really hoped he'd have his own on going comic by now.
He has
He used to have his own book back in the 90s
I've always been a huge fan of Bishop. He got killed to easy in the X-Men movie.
Exactly! Hopefully Marvel will give him a full featured film.
@@lisaellis2593 I'd love it too
It's no reason he had died when he can redirect energy. He can take an atom bomb and survive so they movie was wack to do that
I agree he was killed to easy in the movie, XMEN DAYS OF THE FUTRES PAST. I however think that movie was dope! Just seeing him and Blink work together and use their powers was cool! I still have a hard time seeing Storm, Bishop,Iceman,Colossus,Mageto and so many others die! Awesome movie!
@@deadowl7709 it was a great movies I'm just mad they did bishop dirty because his power would be a reason he and they would survive. That just rubbed me the wrong way but great movie overall
MY FIRST FAVORITE BLACK SUPER HERO B4 BLACK PANTHER... WISH THEY WOULD USE HIM MORE OR GIVE HIM HIS OWN ONGOING TITLE. GREAT BACK STORY WITH HIM AND HIS SISTER SHARD WHOM IS DEAD BUT LIVES ON IN A HOLOGRAM. HE HAS A GOOD POWER SET BUT LIKES TO FIGHT HAND TO HAND WHICH I LIKE. LEGENDARY 🔥
Austroloids(Australian Aboriginal peoples) aren't black and have no genetic relation to sub-Saharans. Dark skin does not mean "African" The peoples of the Indian sub-continent are dark skinned, but they're genetically Caucasian.
A Bishop solo series...yes please 🙏
🤣 casual spotted, panther's been in existence 25 years before bishop
@@jeortiz-luis4288 most kids were required X-Men when the cartoon came out and not black panther. The guy just got into comics at that age. It's not about being a casual.
Bishop is one of my most favorite of the X-Men . Great job on the video.
MARVELOUS JOB GUYS 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Bishop always been bad ass!!!
You completely skipped the part where Legion went back in time and tried to kill Eric, but accidently murdered his own father. Bishop was part of the team sent back in the past to stop Legion, but when the timestream changed, Bishop was left the last man standing. Fast forward thirty years to what would be the present, but in the Age of Apocalypse, and Bishop's memory of the 616 universe is the key that allows Magneto and his version of the X-Men to restore the timeline.
As an Australian I always loved mutants and thought Australian mutants were the most underrated and under appreciated that suffered the most
As an OG Bishop fan I knew a lot of this but there are even some things that I didn’t know! Great job marvelous videos!
LB is one of my top three favorites
Mostly remember him in the cartoon. A very unappreciated character that needs more fan base. But this was a very inresting origin I've never looked up for him. Had a interesting backstory.
Once having a very large X-Men collection I had all of the formentioned titles,I still have enough to remember this story arc, especially all of the X-Men titles. It was suggested that his grandmother, biological or adopted, was Storm.
Wow! This is quickly turning into one of my favorite channels on UA-cam. You really do your research on some of these more under appreciated characters. Bishop was always one of my guys in the X-Men Legends games!
One of my favourites absolutely love Bishop in the Xmen cartoon he always had that bad ass theme as he came through the timelines and he even teamed up with Cable to stop that deadly virus outbreak and found the cure through Wolverine’s healing factor
Excellent Bishop Analysis 😎
Bishop and Cable: Totally open for any BBE or messiah because of the current plot of the episode/issue put out.
Wow...I fell in love with Bishop the first time i saw him back in the 90's and had no idea that they developed his character like this but I'm so happy to see it...hopefully the MCU get around to him with their take on X-men...thank you so much for this video!
Marvel has to go back to vintage Bishop that's the best one 👍
It's pretty funny his power is the ultimate "No U" imagine a guy shooting at you, and you can catch the bullet and throw it back even faster.
Bishop has nothing over Cable. Cable is BOSS.
Yeah so boss that bishop killed him…and has pretty much fucked him up in numerous comics which we can assume you don’t read..
I wonder if he can take on Booster Gold when Cable Failed in Death Battle?
Awesome video! I’m now a bishop fan! I had no idea what all he went through.. dude is a badass
My mom got me Uncanny Xmen 286 when I was in Jr. High...which was right after his first appearance. I've been an obsessed fan ever since.
Fun fact: in a flash back, somebody calls his grandmother "Orroro" . She laughs and says ""No none has called me that in. Years ".
Implying that she is Storm😃
Liked💯👍
I grew up with him , both in the comics AND in the classic 90’s cartoon (Where he was a really big deal .)! He used to be pretty cool, but after Messiah Complex, I think that they kind of ruined the character. He does have some pretty cool powers, though .
I used to read a ton of comics with Bishop in them. Mainly Wolverine and Cable stuff.
I actually have the first issue of Bishop somewhere at my mom's house. This makes me want to go there and dig it out again
Bishop is light/ Gambit is dark...they are connected. Gambit is the reason Bishop appeared
I always get Bishop and Cable confused.
This is a role I've wanted since age 10. I at least gotta play a variant!
bishop and cable they should have linked UP 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯
Or black cable
Was the District X series any good? Brubaker’s work with him in Messiah Complex might be his best story .
Damn whoever drew the young version of Bishop has no idea what people look like apparently.
90s animated was awesome.
Good information
We need a movie of Bishop
Its like these titles were run through Google translate a couple times
Such a great Character
I wonder how an interaction between Nimrod and Wizkid would play out.
I love Bishop. He definitely deserves a movie of his own. Or maybe a Bishop/Cable movie.
Bishop is OP
MCU: Hold my beer
Bishop rocks
Puck left Alpha Flight!
Was Bishop's grandmother anyone in particular? With all her legends about the X-Men and Prof X, I was guessing that it was Storm. Though her white hair is probably just from being and old lady.
Perfect vid
This is a good channel.
I knew all of this about Bishop already I'm his number one fan and I must say you guys missed a lot
He now with the Marauders on the current X-men vol 6 comics . I have to read that someday
Just subscribed notifications bell on!!!
Can I request a video? I would love to see the most popular black mutants or mutants of color.
Wooweee that was all over the place.
Awesome
To whoever wrote the script of this video: I'm a bit confused by the fact that, of the three organizations mentioned that are generally referred to by their initials (XSE, FBI, & ONE, in order), the only one you gave the full name of is the one viewers are most likely to already know, since it exists in the real world...
Bishop is a tragic character who turned enemy of himself. Betraying everything he believed for his ever shifting goals to achieving nothing in the end.
Is there a video about Legion yet? He's my favorite mutant character
What is the name of the song in the background?
My fav mutant
Been a while since I read the X-books but wasn't Bishop's grandmother M from Generation X?
I don't remember him having a cybernetic arm ?
awsome
He does have an upper level. Fabian Cortez burnt his mutant power out by overloading his body with energy. I'm fairly sure that it was issue 300.
Bishop is just one of the many X-man that shows to the entire Marvel universe why the X-men are the best super Heroes of the entire Marvel plains
did also liked the actor they used for that fucked Days of future past movie
but totally hated when they killed him same goes for Colossus and the others
really cannot stand that movie much
i 300% stick with the real DOFP canon of the Comic book
X-men will always deserve infinite times much better
At first you said Bishop can absorb energy which can increase his power with no known limit. Then you said he can only absorb so much energy before having to expell it. That seems contradictory.
Bishop has no known upper limit to his energy absorption. This means that the exact limits aren't known, not that he has no limits. Bishop can absorb extremely large amounts of energy, but he can still be overloaded if he isn't careful.
@@jorienwachukwu466 Days Of Future Past was awesome. But the fact that Bishop didn't play a bigger role is a crime!
@@afrolund80 Yeah, that's something that pissed me off. Bishop's powers allow him to automatically release energy when he overloads, and he wouldn't be killed if such a thing happened. What they did in the movie was criminal, just like with Darwin in First Class.
FOR THE FUTURE!!!
Why does everyone alway leave out the fact he is Actually Aboriginal Australian and his grandfather is Gateway 🤦🏽♂️ it’s literally an important aspect of his character especially being a time traveler hero and having the ability to know what time/date/universe he is in at all times even without tech which many fans don’t know is actually an Aboriginal Dreamtime power/ability inherited from his grandfather Gateway which is special because it does not stem from his own x-gene mutants powers. 💯
He's pretty much American. He grew up in the mutant concentration camps is new York.
Mother and father fled Australia when he was young. I believe in the fallout of the 6 second war
@@brucewaite3733 No he and his sisters are unequivocally Aboriginal Australian 🤣 being raised in a future dystopia America and therefore gaining an American accent don’t make him American in the slightest that’s just his “nationality” by default not his race. 💯
nice
Bishop's Immune to Nanites, However Wolverine can be infected, but quickly heal from Nanites??
Who created bishop??
Pls make a video on India best graphic novel Rakshak.....
For the fewcha!
He probably could have stopped the snap.
it's really sad they killed off Bishop X men Days of future past
Bishop wasn’t played by an aboriginal from Australia
Fun fact storm is his grandmother
Is he like Vulcan
no I did not...I'll be looking for comics now
Doctor strange comic origin pls!
Whats M really stand for???
Biship other x-men
Bishop and Cable series
"FICTIONAL" MY THIRD HAND!!
Didn’t they tie Bishop and Gateway together?
I wanna play bishop in #mcu
Just two Questions Does he work for the Pope and Did he ever Say Mass in church? U gotta tell me !
CABEL. Nuff Said.
Wasn't Bishop Filipino originally?
