- In this adventure I head to the Glenfinnan viaduct in Scotland to watch The Jacobite Steam Train cross over it! Along with sharing footage of this wonderful steam train crossing the viaduct, I also show the route you need to take to get to the best viewing location from the car park. This beautiful area of Scotland was also used as a filming location for the Harry Potter movies!

Shawn I know you are probably sick of hearing me say this by now, but THANK YOU. I wish I could actually make you realize how much I enjoy these videos.... you take me out of my enclosed world...and that, to me, is PRICELESS. So, when I say thank you, it truly comes from my heart. Can't wait for your next adventure!
ADVENTURE SHAWN is an OUTSTANDING channel isn't it!! 2 thumbs up wwwaaayyy uuuppp!!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words
I rode The Jacobite Steam Train over the viaduct a few years ago. We boarded at Fort William. It was amazing. They sold chocolate frogs and other Harry Potter stuff on the train. You really need to do it. Great vlog!
That was amazing! What a brilliant day for it. The fact it stopped midway, blew its whistle and then started to chugga-chugga. Absolutely brilliant 😁🥰
It certainly was amazing to see!
Wow, that was brilliant - wasn't expecting it to stop on the viaduct!
It was certainly a beautiful site
It is a sight,not site
What a great piece of engineering!
It certainly is!
That was spectacular, love trains and knowing it was part of Harry Potter was also a treat. Thanks for sharing.😃

Brilliant video Shawn. Harry Potter is my favourite film series.
It really was an amazing site. What a gorgeous country side. I was geeking out over the HP train 🚂 ♥️ Thanks so much!!
Thanks for watching!
What a great video Shawn loved the steam train shots.
I was brought up chasing steam trains 👌 thanks for sharing
Edit: I actually shed a tear watching :')
Great video! As a massive potter geek, this was also on my bucket list. I finally ticked it off the list last year. On one day we travelled from Fort William to Mallaig on the Jacobite, and then on a different day we walked up to the viaduct like you just did in this video. It was weird because I actually felt quite emotional seeing the train cross the viaduct and hearing it’s whistle sounding. The viaduct is an absolutely amazing piece of engineering in a stunning location!
It’s such a beautiful area to explore!
Wow that steam train was incredible. We have loved all your videos from Scotland. Excellent 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you! There’s still one more to come!
Very cool - great job filming!
Fantastic Shawn!! Charlotte would have loved it too!!!
This was an epic video to watch, amazing when the steam train stopped on the viaduct and then the sounds of the start up, engine powering and whistle whistling through the valley. Magical moment & its something I would 100% love to see in the future one day. Would love to ride onboard it and hopefully be something I will do? But well see. But yeah thank you for getting us a video of this, epic and yeah would love to see it in person one day. Also love how the steam train slowing down before bridge especially from the shots you filmed of it speeding through valley & countryside. Looked beautiful & yeah wonder what it looks like onboard? But yeah, cheers for video, really enjoyed and look forward for more videos like this in future. 😀👍
Looks amazing to see it , might have to check it out

Wow. Ive got to visit that place as im a Harry Potter fan 👍👍
I think my parents took that train once, they did cross that bridge by train for sure! Just not sure if it was in the steam train. Great to see it from the other side now, I had no idea you could walk to it. Great video, as ever! :)
That’s awesome!
Sweet, we missed this on our recent trip to Scotland but we’ll do it next time. Great vlog, cheers!

Oh brill. This place is where my chap n I want to go for our 10th anniversary
The viaduct is also featured on Forza Horizon 4.
I only know it because of forza 🤣
@@chiversathlete9141 Same for many people including me.
only one good reason to go to Glennfinan, and that's the whisky 😀😀 to sort out the upgrades, they should have gotten a bridging loan, lol, thank you I am here all week. I didn't spot a ford Anglia flying bye, it must be all those muggles lol
I would love to see that!
Amazing video. Keep it up.👌👌👌☺️☺️
Thank you
Beautiful
It sure is!
Very nice 👍
Scotland is a beautiful country, i went there last summer and I saw the train pass. It was raining when I went so I was the only person in my family to climb the hill to get thr money shot
Love The Jacobite. Done is a few times actually riding on it. 45 quid so not cheap cheap but amazing views and you do get 4 hours of beautiful scenery and steam and some time to explore the lovely fishing village of Mallaig. Took it on a Sunday in early September and the crowd at Glenfinnan was well over a hundred people. Moved up to Glasgow party due to the access to the scenery, looking forward to the Loch Lomond one as I know that area well and hiked through when doing the West Highland Way hike this summer.
I hope to ride it at some point in the near future!
at 1 point i use to think TPW was the better channel out of your 2 channels !! As i continue to watch ADVENTURE SHAWN i'm not so sure anymore !!Both of your channels TPW and ADVENTURE SHAWN are simply outstanding ! As i watch your videos on this channel i feel like i've come to know you althou we don't know one another! Your audio choices for your videos on this channel never cease to impress me ! Keep up the great content , it greatly appreciated!! see ya next time !!
Thank you very much!
Really interesting video - Hopefully Shawn you might consider visiting some of the Heritage Railways in 2021
I plan to!
Decent footage young man plus keep the chat simple and clear and you will do well.
Thank you
That is awesome and it sure is beautiful there! I am not a big Harry Potter fan. I did like the first movie though. I am however, a pretty big fan of the Narnia movies and the books too.
Thank you for watching!
In 2000 when I was Around that Area but I went into the round Tower Thing with the Special thing and your head comes out first through the opening but I do Remember the Bridge but don't Remember seeing the Steam train that day going over it. I wasn't aware there was a Steam train still running there. I do Remember Fort William and Ben Nevis I think I did Hick or do. Soctland was a amazing place and I did Edinburgh too.
That black steam train reminds me of one of them at The Keighley And Worth Valley Railway not far from me Make sure you look after yourself, mate.😊
Would be awesome to do some filming with you Shaun 👍🏼
Interesting to see where that scene from Harry Potter was filmed
Smoked a few joints leaning out of the windows in the late 90's
Hi Shawn I've been crossed over the Glenfinnan Viaduct & The Jacobite Steam Train, that was 2 years ago with my Mother.
It’s such a beautiful place to visit
Once the lockdown settles down have you got anymore plans to visit York again. The top of York minster gives some amazing views for miles around and there are other cool places such as Clifford's tower and The Treasurers house, York museum and so much more. I know you have seen some of it in the past.
I’d love to!
I was fighting back the tears when I saw the steam train absolutely stunning place, thank you shawn
It sure is a beautiful area
Hear is a little recommendation that i would give to your good self. :) the next place harry potter related you should have a look at is the North Yorkshire Moors railway. 1 of the longest heritage railways in the country at 18 miles. or 24 if they run to whitby. now 1 of the stations that has some harry potter history that you should look at is Gothland. the first station after Gothland, or the Pynultimate station before Grosmont if your comming from Piccering. Now this station was featured in the tv series heart beat, but Recently, it has also featured as hogsmeed station in the harry potter films. it'll be worth your time i promise you. good work on the vlogs.
Thanks for your suggestion!
you should do a challenge where you do a series of videos from famous film/tv locations in the uk
Very late watching this, but if you're still planning on visiting Harry Potter locations don't forget to visit Gloucester cathedral in my home town. It's cloisters were used as some Hogwarts corridors, most notably in The Chamber of Secrets in the scenes when writing was written on the walls and the floors were covered in water.
Thanks for sharing!
Very nice bridge and train. Please can you go also to Hoghwarts and film these amazing castle. That will be fantastic. Thanks for this video at this time and see you soon.
The train even stopped for Photos. :D
It was great to see!
Hi Shawn you are a legend ! By the way me and my mum love your new logo for TPW. One quick question when are you doing a Live stream on TPW love to speak to you and charlotte #TPWLive?
Thank you! They’ll be more live streams on the way in the future!
he Shawn, thanks for sharing your beautiful experience with us. Can you tell me what time the train is on this viaduct during 8-13th of April? Thanks man!
I’m not too sure at the moment unfortunately
@Shawn. Would you travel to 2300 Jackson Street and Neverland?
Hi Shawn. How about doing a walk up Snowdon ? And same by train??
Hello! Is this view of the train on the Fort William departure or the Mallaig departure?
It’s on departure from Fort William
Chamber of Secrets 🐍
How come I just discovered this channel
Welcome!
Hi. Was the train coming from Fort William or Mallaig to get this view? Can you reply ASAP please?
It was coming from Fort William
Is there any other way to get to Glenfinnan Viaduct from inverness other than a private car or a group bus tour? Any train or public transport of any kind?
Not as far as I know
Hi new to your channel great video well done thanks for sharing big thumbs up from me and new sub here cheers 👍🇬🇧
Thank you for watching
I hope that 'Themepark World Wide' as' Adventure Shawn 'will ever dare to buy a Drone Dji Mini'! since this is the newest Drone of which you do not need permission to fly everywhere, as the Drone has a minimal weight.
I’d love to get one at some point!
What is the exact location and what is the exact time when you saw the train coming
Hello what time we want to reach there for seeing train
It depends on the train times!
thank you for not talking all the way through your presentation
I wanted to capture the natural sounds of the train coming in!
what time did the train roughly cross?
It was around £50 I believe
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures not the price i was after, what time of day did the train cross the bridge lol
ps love your videos
at what time is passing the train?
This was filmed in the morning
What's the address for this place and around what times does the train pass?
Train times can be found on the official website
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures ahhh thank you!!
Hello
ooo ni kete api yang ni gi hogwart tu
Can you head back to Devon please
I hope to next year!
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures thank you
If you waited another 5-10 minutes after the train you could of seen another steam train going in the other direction
I did stay in the area for a while and didn’t see another!
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures You would not have seen one , as the other train on that line is Diesel Train , which is a regular train that goes to Mallaig daily .
Forza Horizon 4 gang 🤟🏻
yep bro
right here
I wonder where all the money went when they were allowed to film there .. 🤷♂️🤷♀️ could've allowed them but only if they assisted with the future project knowing people would come
Hi could you send up a drone
Someone was actually flying a drone in the area at the time I visited
It's reported that JK Rowling gives one Million pounds donation to the conservative party every year but she couldn't give a few grand to help with the car park! 🤔 priorities
It really needs some work doing!
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures it's completed as far as I could tell. I was there on Saturday (thanks to watching your video) 👍
Slow steam train, hogwarts express was faster.
