If you want to get a good photo of the train with a long trail of steam, don’t go on a hot day because the steam will disperse quickly, humid days are best.

@@MeansToTravel there’s an absolutely brilliant photography You Tube channel called ‘Photography Online’ (it’s more like a program or magazine than a You Tube channel). They covered it in one of their videos - it was probably one of the ‘Shoot The Impossible’ projects they do from time to time. It’s the best channel for photography on You Tube by a mile. They are based in Skye so the first two seasons are full of locations from the Isle of Skye so a great watch to get ideas if you’re planning to visit.

Wow had to switch the Sound down and Listen from the across the street. I can only imagine being stuck on a Train with these Two ! A Nightmarish scenario. Bloody hell.

You might want to double-check that your speakers aren’t previously damaged from a past use/misuse. I’m wondering if your issue is that you’ve watched other videos that are really soft (with low dB’s) on maximum volume and damaged your speakers? The volume level for this video is the exact same as most other videos and ads on UA-cam, but the sound itself is slightly edited to remove the Scottish wind noises, which makes our voices sound a tiny bit little “scratchier.”

Hi and thanks, Means To Travel for sharing.
Wow, a steam train exists and runs on this historical arched bridge! So is there any train schedule to figure out the time the train passes that bridge? or by luck?---0;48.
OMG, it's such a stunning architecture of Glenfinnan. Can I climb up to the top?---1:39.
This view is breathtaking. Can I see it all year round like this?---2;33.
Thank you so much for giving us some traveling tips. Well done.🙋‍♀🙋‍♀🙋‍♀🙋‍♀🛶🛶

So glad you enjoyed the video!!!
The most recent steam train time table is here, and it's saying online that the train passes over the viaduct roughly about a half hour after departure: westcoastrailways.co.uk/jacobite/timetables
I don't believe you can climb to the top of the monument, but the views nearby are must-sees. The view at 2:33 is stock drone footage of the area after a snow, so I highly recommend researching the latest drone rules for the area before flying anything there just in case you need a permit.
Have fun and hope you get to enjoy Glenfinnan! 😀😀

Hi, nice tips! I want to ask some questions:
    1. Is the Glenfinnan Viaduct easy to reach when travelling with kids (10, 7, and 3 years old)?
    2. How far to get the best place to see the view?
    3. When the best time to get there, morning or afternoon?
    Thanks!

    • @MeansToTravel
      @MeansToTravel  Рік тому

I'm not sure how hiking-fit your kiddos are, but the hike to the viewpoint is about ten minutes uphill on an unpaved trail. Maybe call it fifteen minutes with small children? As long as you get there at least 1.5 hours before one of the trains go by, you should be able to find a good spot to see it. So, I'd look up the train schedule of the day you're visiting and work backwards from there! Have fun!!! We love it there! 😀

Hey Michael! We unfortunately don’t own a drone, so no I don’t have any tips to share! I assume there are permits and/or rules for it. (The drone footage in this video is from my creative subscription service.) Are you planning a visit there soon? 😀

@@MeansToTravel Yes, and we are also fans of viaduct bridges! And big fans of Scotland!
But it’s crazy how many things we still want to do in the UK, and how we have to still always make a list “for next year“ because there’s only so much we can fit into a summer. We have the blessing of being here for three or four months instead of a week or two, but there’s always a huge list of things we don’t get to each year!🙄
This year we made a trip to Northumberland and County Durham. That’s as far north as we are getting this year. We did some Scotland travel last year, but not very far north. There’s still so much I want to do! And I need to get to the Isle of Mull and see some otters!❤️🦦🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
