The basic Pegasus is really boring, but somehow I gravitate to it (as long as it's on a big discount) because it just delivers as a go-to trainer and is outstanding on two points that have nothing to do with the immediate experience: reliability and durability. Whatever the weather (at least here in the tropics) it holds up and oerforms well. Then, once the midsole is fully spent, it transitions well as a casual walking shoe. A real practical bang for the buck.
I’m not convinced Nike are doing the premium for performance, I think they are edging them more to a lifestyle trainer. That said I think they look stunning
I really enjoy the Pegasus line. Been using the standard model for many years and I’ve quite enjoyed the Plus so far. Can’t wait to try my zoom flys at Xmas though. Hoping it gives me some of that old tempo vibes. Even just a little.
Would you be able to comment on any differences in forefoot width in the 3? I found the Pegasus Plus noticeably narrower up front coming from a Peg 38 and I've been getting some foot discomfort on longer or harder runs with it. I'm hoping the Premium is a bit wider so I can pick it up in a couple months
I guess Nike is just determined to stay with their customary 10 mm drop, industry trends be damned. I've never found Nike trainers to be comfortable, as they're just too thin under the ball of my foot. I guess I'll skip this generation too.
I've thought about this a bit more, and on reflection I'm glad Nike is not slavishly following the industry but is sticking to its design approach. It may not work for me, but more diversity in shoe designs provides the best odds that all different types of runners will be able to find a shoe that works for them. Contrast this to the manner in which all the brands seem to be racing to see who can make the softest squishiest shoe right now. As someone who prefers firm shoes, I'm beginning to feel real concern that if the trend continues, in a few years there won't be a shoe that matches my preferences in the market.
My take is Nike simply reorganized its running shoe product architecture rather than making meaningful, consumer driven improvements to its products. None of Pegasus-line shoes is top five (or even top 10) in its competitive segment. Run Testers literally comparing $180 Peg Plus to shoes costing 30% less. Vomero line also looking underwhelming; focus appears to focus on style versus performance. Racing line (including new Zoom Fly 6) remains largely elite.
The Pegasus Plus is the new Turbo. Underneath it says Pegasus Turbo on the sole. If you’re referring to the Turbo Next Nature, not a clue. Probably a one time thing to reuse old foam.
There are so many better runners out there than the whole Pegasus range out there and for less money.

I think the premium will be a post run Friday nights bar shoes.
Great comparison, and thanks for the note about pronation in the Peg Premium, I don't think many reviewers have mentioned that.

When the Pegasus Premium has already that much cushioning, i wonder how the Vomero Premium will look like?😅

Agreed. For me I need 4-6mm. Anything over 8mm means I have to heel strike.
I also totally agree with this. but most runners do heelstrike and pronate, so nike seems to focus on them sadly
@@AnDre-fj5lb fortunately there are so many good shoes atm you can find good ones for midfoot strikers

Zoom fly 6 is better than the whole Pegasus line up

For information i just used Pegasus 41 twice, the 10mm drop killed me !
The premium version seems classic not a running shoe!
That’s a lot of peggin’
where does the Turbo fit - have they killed that again?

@@Rockondevil seems like plus is the turbo NN,both flyknit upper just not a recycled zoomx.
