  • If you are looking for a quick and easy weekend project at home, why not turn a ho-hum patio corner into a relaxing haven for your plants, fish, and family members?
    I just did by repurposing and using existing materials and plants I could find at home. Yep, didn’t spend a single centavo. 😎
    Enjoy the video and I hope that it somehow inspires you to create one for yourself. Trust me, the trickling sound of the water alone is already rewarding. #theindoorwetlands

    What else do you think we should add in the DIY patio pond-? More plants? Fish? Comment down below and let me know!

      Maybe add some balloon mollys. Thry make a great addition and they are very cute and friendly ❤

      @@rohan-ku4gl Great idea! At first I tried adding balloon platys, also related to mollies but it seems they didn’t like the slightly acidic water conditions. But its worth a try if I make a second setup 😊 thank you!

      @@rohan-ku4gl great! Not sure though why the platys kept jumping out of the pond before. 🤔 maybe some aggression from other fish

    Not sure, I think the random cuttings you found are a type of _Syngonium_ although with aroids, so many of them have that “heart” or “horse face” shape, as babies, but completely change once mature! Prime example-Monstera deliciosa, dubia & borsigiana! All have cute little heart leaves as babies but gradually grow more fenestrations, holes, streaks and “tears”, and of course get larger. I’ve seen mature Syngonium species grow to be like a weed, almost the size of a Monstera. But the mature leaves are no longer heart-shaped, rather they have five or seven “fingers”. Looks almost like the spiral ginger actually, or _Philodendron goldii_ (or goldi?)…Aka _Thaumatophyllum spruceanum_ lol 😆

    May I ask about the temperature in your country. I live in Malta Europe and at the moment temp are 43 degree centigrade the highest and 28 degree at night but in winter it can be 10 degrees. Do you think I can have this in my balcony. Would the guppies survive?

    • @TheIndoorWetlands
      @TheIndoorWetlands  8 місяців тому

      Fortunately I live in the Philippines which is a tropical country. We can do this all year long without problems. If you are in Europe who goes through winter season, I’m afraid the guppies wont survive. You may have to bring them inside and do a refresh on your pond scape once winter is over.

    Such an awesome creation! I don't "like" it; I LOVE it! And it blends so well with the entire area. I'm so impressed that I've subscribed and activated the notification bell and I even shared it on my Facebook page. You asked for suggestions; well here's a question: Are you planning to install pond lights? I think that would enhance your night viewing. Blessings to you and all those whom you love. Have a great day.

    • @TheIndoorWetlands
      @TheIndoorWetlands  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the support Dei! I’m glad that you loved it. 😊 for the answer your question-due to the size of the pond, I didn’t consider adding pond lights anymore. There is a couple of light bulbs above the pond though at the patio that we turn on if we wish hang out in that area for now but that isn’t bright enough for us to see fish activity inside the pond. Perhaps a good small LED spotlight will do the trick. 😊🍸

      Good to know! I’m just starting playing with “ecosystems.” What if you tried wicking moisture from the bottom of the container? I’ve also had some luck using an irrigation set on a timer to keep my birdbath topped off. The ferns around the base like it a lot.
      Thanks for your work!
