My hero. Now if only Samsung would tell you if it doesn't respond to your press, to turn the lock off. The model we have does not have an actual Lock button, it's tied to another so I never even saw it. Once done though, poof, no more flashing light.
Yes I want to know how to get the ice cubes to drop once they are ready? I changed the water filter and it fills the ice cube tray, but doesn't drop the cubes unless I hit that teeny, tiny button hidden up in there! WTHeck? Model RF260BEAESG/AA grrrrrr
Did it use to dispense cold water and no longer does? Or has it never dispensed cold water? A lot of fridges these days don’t have a reservoir of water that is cooled but rather transfer water through tubing/filter system directly as you push the dispense button. In this case the water temp would be around the same as your tap water.
I Just changed my filter, noticed the OEM the fridge had said ice & water filter The new one I got only says water. Not ice. The fridge only has an ice maker doesn’t have the water dispenser. Does the filter necessarily have to say ice and water, or is it fine if it only says water lol
nope the light is for the water/ice filter! if you don’t use either than you can just leave the red filter light on or reset it if the red bothers you 😃

@@daddoesitALL I reset the button on the inside of the ice maker hoping that would fix it couple hours later and nothing it’s been three days. Still no ice. What a pain. No ice blockage I see anywhere. Water comes out normal. Sometimes I just stops making ice.

only a timer…its doesn’t detect anything at all. I usually let mine go two times then change filter.

nope the light is for the water/ice filter! if you don’t use either than you can just leave the red filter light on or reset it if the red bothers you 😃

What kind of filter does it take?
there is a link in the description for two filter options. It’s located between the two produce drawers and has a knob on it that says “Lock”

I don’t think the filter will cause ice maker to stop working. Samsung fridges are notorious for having ice maker issues unfortunately.
