That 'useless' hex bolster can come in handy as well if you have a couple hex shank ship auger bits. Makes a good substitute for a scotch eyed auger. Thanks for the video, it's a handy tip.
First I was like pfff the oldest trick in the book, but then I saw the vid is 4 years old... so yeah still the best hack lol
6mm magnet works and looks great
Hi again, I've seen scissors in your signal. From what LM did you get them? Is it from wave or charge? Is it a dry fit?
Thanks!
nope unfortunately much more complicated, you need to cut a notch into the bit driver so you can move it to the opposite side, once you do that you can then drop in the scissor.
Hey Dominic, will wave scissors fit in signal replacing can opener, do you know?
Nice one!
I love mine, but really miss a pair of scissors. Got a Victorinox SwissCard and carry it in the signal big nylon sheath along with a mini flashlight and a proper magnesium flint from SOL. It all fits great!
I never really had a problem with the 1/4" bits falling out.
I see that the Leatherman Signal you have there seems to have a T-shank adapted, am I correct? Did you have trouble adapting it?
It was a pain in the ass, but I made it work
@@maxlvledc Good to know! Can you share what kind of mods you did in order to make it work? The reason me asking is because I have been thinking about it for some time.....
@@maxlvledc Dear pal, please share at least anything in regards of this it. At least what BE did you use? Did you use old Surge's BE or a new? Thanks!
@@nmylniko new blade exchanger was used but it appears they it may be possible to do this mod without modifying the frame. I saw a post of one recently. And I would guess the model wouldn't matter, most likely you would simply not sure the third piece ( the spring).
@@maxlvledc many thanks for your reply! I will really appreciate it if you could share this post here. Apologize but also I didn't get the part about spring.
You meant that I can replace the saw with a new blade exchanger without any modification? Isn't it?
Go to the hardware store, go to the pluming section and get a pack of o-rings that fit, with a little stretch, from the opening lock and inside the carabiner. They wear our but getting a pack of 10-20 some rings for a few cents beats strings, or other bs that can get annoying and snag.
Can you not magnetize the bit holder?
It is possible with a magnet and epoxy but this worked so well without messing with the tool itself. It's cheaper and easier to manage.
A rubber O-ring works as well.
Wouldn't suggest it because the bit could cut it, but maybe I'm not seeing how you use it.
Whats the watches on your hand? Thnx!
It's a vibrating alarm gshock with a sunto clipper compass attached
@@maxlvledc cool Hack. That is a Casio but not a G Shock I am fairly sure...
I just epoxy glued a small magnet
