Lately I've been looking for many value for money Automatic Dive Watches and after many many brands such as Sthührling, Duxot, Spinnaker, etc. and then I came to a conclusion that Orient is the best one with the best value for money. and my heart fell for Orient Kanno RA-AA0913L Inhouse Movement, Cal F6922's good reputation and proved to be as good as Seiko's NH35A, Excellent material and build quality, etc. I just have no regrets for buying the Orient Kanno.
I absolute love Orient, it's my favorite watch brand since I was a child. I have a small collection of 4 watches and 2 of them are Orients, I have a 3 Star 469WA3 P1SX for daily use and a black Men's Envoy to use in more formal events. I'm also planning to buy a Defender and a Flight, beautiful timepieces!
i recieved this notification video on my phone today, i checked this video out and after watching this video i went onto serious watches website to look at orient watches as ive never owned one before. i came across many but the orient RA-AS0103A open heart and moon phase complications caught my eye along with it's beautiful blue mother of pearl. ive just placed an order for this beautiful looking watch and look forward to wearing it.
I bought a black Orient Envoy a week ago and I'm absolutely in love with it! The quality of the materials used and assembly is almost unbelievable for the price. And that open heart is mesmerizing
I love the Royal Orient but has been discontinued due to Grand Seiko competition. Recommend to give reference number to each Orient watch featured in the video and its price that would help those who are serious interested looking for one.
A love letter (video) to Orient. Unfortunately I have not been a paying customer, yet... I won a Bambino from you last year close to Christmas. You rock, also when I had a question about my Ray II you replied to at Instagram... a watch I did not even buy from you. Keep up the great work and looking forward to more of your videos. Promised: One day, I will pull the trigger in your shop!
Thanks so much for your kind words! :-) I hope that we can be of service to you in the future, but mostly that we can share a passion for watches, regardless of where you've bought them!
I’ve Added several Orients to my collection. Great Watches! Thank You for your excellent Videos! I came from one site that showed an Orient Chrono but he was moving around so much could not view the time pieces. All these Watches are Beautiful! You did an excellent job of showing and explaining the Time Pieces. Thank You so Much!!
I think the Orient Watch company will have a bright future if they ADVERTISE more ! They have EXCELLENT products, yet very few people know of them. I LOVE my two Capital Dress watches (Quartz) because they are reliable, cheap (80 U.S. dollars each.), and great looking. Maybe Orient does not advertise to keep its prices reasonable? I wonder...
I just got a Burgundy Kamasu with a ceramic bezel and love it. I wouldn't have bought it without a modded ceramic bezel. I kinda like the Maestro and the bambino but have no reason to rush out and buy them. I find myself only liking them due to the price point and not the designs.
I completely love my Triton. I bought the black face version. I can't stop looking at it. I am sold on Oeient's quality and design. Now you have brought the Star line to my attention. By the way, I enjoyed this video very much.
Never sell that triton. Its such a special orient watch. Special watch in general. I have the blue dial, an i accidently scratched up under neath the bezel going from 7 6 an 5. Im so upset. I had to take the bezel insert off cause someone threw keys at me an seriously damage the bezel insert. I loved the aluminum bezel insert on the triton. An now i dont have one. Plus scratches on that one part of the watch. I was thinking of selling it, but i am not. The triton is very hard to find in the blue dial. An if you do find it, you have pay alot more money for it now. Maybe one day i can find someone to make it un damaged again. The triton is magical , just something so special about it.
I have the trition pepsi colour variant, and I gotta say, the bracelet feels a little too big since it doesn't taper. But on a black nato strap, the watch looks absolutely killer. And the bezel is the most satisfying bezel I've ever turned and listened to. And I have tried Longines, Breitlin and Omegas bezels, watches that are a lot more expensive. Yet, the Orient feels absolutely superior in quality. Very impressive
Thank you for watching! The Orient Star RE-AW0004S is truly stunning. Plus it has the latest generation of Orient movement, the Orient Cal. F6G42, with the improved 50 hour power reserve!
Great video. For me, apart from the sheer value for money that Orient watches offer, my main attraction to them is the way that Orient manages to combine ruggedness with beauty in their watches. Take the Ray for example, it glides comfortably between the world's of dive watches and dress watches. Orient has simply nailed the art of making a beast look pretty. And don't even get me started on the dress watches !
I have just come across your channel and saw this review on Orient watches. I own four Orient watches of which my very first Orient watch being an Orient Tristar watch which is at the lowest price range for automatic watches similar to a Seiko 5. I have had it nearly five years now and I must admit it is probably the most accurate automatic watch that I own. Two other Orient watches are from the Orient Neo 70's Panda range of Solar powered chronographs which were made for the Japanese domestic market, both great watches which I wear often and my final Orient is a quartz sports watch which is great as a casual watch. I find that Orient watches are hard to find here in the UK so purchased mine online as I am not aware of any dealerships here. Many thanks for your video.
Thank you so much for that! Very glad to read that you love Orient as well! While Orient isn't distributed in the UK at the moment, we do ship there (on a daily basis in fact) and until the end of the year the UK will not have any VAT or duties from Europe, so you're all good! But not to turn it into a sales pitch: enjoy Orient, regardless of where you buy them!
@@SeriousWatches many thanks for the information. I look forward to when they are more readily available here in the retailers. I am thinking of purchasing a Bambino next. I would definately push the button on one if they were a bit smaller in the traditional 37 mm to 40mm size for a dress watch.
I believe, that Orient may be a big(ger) winner in the future. While Seiko works more upscale and raising revenue by raising prices, Orient can target the more (true) entry level base. Their large scale of models and the affordable prices may win Seiko's former base. Even without Seiko's course: Orient watches are simply great. Everything is made inhouse (not sure about assembling) and a lot of companies can not offer that.
Fantastic watches. I have the 44mm Mako Xl orange bezel and absolutely love it, suits my almost 7.9" wrist. It's non hacking, not hand winding but that doesn't bother me as I wear it quite a lot. Orient quality is often better than Seiko particularly in finishing and getting the chapter ring properly aligned. Having said that my sporty Seiko 5kx SRPD51K2 has perfect alignment, but I know it's a bit of a lottery on what you get.
I had the triton, orient star diver , orient star classic... An a couple other orient watches. I do not own them anymore. Had to sell them all. Only watch i own now is the orient kamasu limited edition. I miss them greatly. I had a omega constellation that i owned for one day. I returned it. It was used, my point here is i did not see a big differnce between my high end orients an that one particular omega model. Orients make high quality watches that are just as good as swiss.....
i just came to know this brand has some much value......i for one have a orient vintage clock that was it ...it was just recently i came to know of the bambino line up and now recently herd of many good dress watches from orient.......seriously orient makes good quality and stunning watches.....
They make tri-star watches in the 36-37mm size...but I have an open hear sapphire watch with a skeletonized window showing the step. It's similar to the Orient Eclipse which is 40mm, but a bit smaller. I forgot the model number but it's a great size with a 20mm lug width.
I'm new to mechanical watches after being fed up with the throw away type mentality of tech in general. Being a very tech minded person I wonder what makes one movement beter then another movement. I hear a lot of "this is a beautiful movement" but I have yet to come across someone diving deeper into what the differences are.
There's a few elements that come to it. The easy one is a movement simply being beautifully constructed and finished. Another is what it is actually able to do (e.g. the complications - a 3 hander versus a moonphase and so on - constructing the latter is a lot more complicated). Or how efficiently it is constructed. Most comtemporary movements are more or less re-inventions of the same wheel, but there are differences. E.g. the Seiko Magic Lever is a fun thing to read about: calibercorner.com/seiko-magic-lever/ Watch movements are bits of engineering that you can still fully understand every detail of (unlike a modern computer for example) and you can have a lot of fun digging into it :-). Of course a €50000 A. Lange watch will have a fine movement that is close to perfect on every level, but that's to be expected at that price point. As a watch enthusiast is probably more fun what certain engineers have developed on a budget and with true ingenuity while there are restraints. As a channel we don't pretend to really cater to that subject, as we're a retailer, but our team do all love watches and we have 2 people on staff who are certified watchmakers and went through a 4 year course. If you genuinely love the engineering, it may be fun to purchase a 6497 movement or something easy to work on and just experimenting with it a little bit!
Those would be 2 very cool things! Orient did make a mechanical chronograph, but it featured a Seiko-based movement, rather than truly in-house. Fingers crossed for some nice models in 2021 :-)
I appreciate all your videos because they are informative. I notice that they are all spoiled by your autofocus. Would you have a way to deactivate it?
The 3 Star range is the affordable line of Orient. Sort of like the Seiko 5. They do have the same movements as the regular Orient models, but just a lower level of finishing and less sturdy bracelets and so on. Not a bad buy by any means, but something to consider :-)
I have a question, about a orient star watch i own. Its the orient star diver pepsi bezel. What is your thoughts an feelings on that specific orient dive watch?. An the orient triton if you dont mind. Love your passion for orient watches.
The triton is a great model, but unfortunately it has been discontinued. The finishing level is below a Star, but considering the price it's a good one to pick up if you still can :-)
8:07 i am thinking on getting this one , i am just waiting for my refund on the "nivada grenchen" antarctic spider , i thought it was from switzerland but after giving the order and paying over 1000 Dollars i got a message from People in Hong Kong , i am not ok with a Policy of stealing a Name without having anything to do with Switzerland or the history of the brand , even if the watches are good quality , i don't care .
