After turning the low cut off (on by default) in DJI Mic 2, the clarity edge Røde had to my ear, is gone. This product and all other 32bit float devices, are more about how to EQ and get the most out of the files in editing. That and ofc getting the best possible audio to work with 😊
Thank you for honesty and showcasing the product as it should! I agree with your point with bigger channels having to keep that relationship and having to praise the product as much as they could. But sometimes for some professionals, we can’t have false advertising going on when some of us are trying to use certain products for critical tasks. Thanks again!
Thanks a whole bunch for the support man. Honesty is the way, the new mic is great, it’s an improvement over the original for sure. But not by as much as I thought, if you got the original DJI mic, you are good bro.
I have seen other people online having a set of 3rd party lav working well on one unit, but needing to be borderline unplugged on the other. (Tony & Chelsea Northrup). If my mics worked on previous version and not the new, I’m guessing DJI changed something. Hopefully not just to boost lav mic sales, but to improve something.
Hands down, the DJI Mic2's sound quality has improved big time. I honestly think it's better than Rode now

My favourite part is at 11:07 with the tiny accident at the end :D
😆😆😆
Thorough test. Given me some good ideas on where to go on these choices - thank you.
Much appreciated Sean 😊
Come on DJI Sponsor this talented dude!
I would loose all review credibility 😉 But seriously, thank you Charlotte, really appreciate the support 🙂
The 2 sounds processed compared to the 1. Absolutely an upgrade I'll be looking at after a couple more months of consumer testing.
Most likely a low cut filter being applied straight out of the box (settings vice). This was pointed out here in the comments 😊
Btw low cut comes on by default and it makes it sound a bit less full than the dji mic 1. You can easily turn it off.
For sure you can either come n device or in EQ post processing get there. The thought here is, how both sound right out of the box.
Why did the lav not work?
