You made a small mistake, tapping the power button turns on noise cancelation, pressing and holding the record button for 3 seconds turns into receiver mode (or Bluetooth mode). The green and yellow colors are very very similar and will be easy for some to mistake. I am posting this at 8:51 in the video so maybe you correct it later in the video.
For some reason DJI eliminated the TRRS connectivity for Lav Mics. It works on the Mic1, but not Mic2. To use a TRRS Lav, you'll have to purchase a TRRS to TRS connector like the Rode SC3. It's an annoyance & odd choice for DJI, since these Mics are supposed to be mobile friendly.
Sky, I haven't tried the new mic2. Im running comica mics, sennheiser mics, and a really nice Altec. All the mics are run through a portacapture X8, which allows me to record in 32-bit float. At this point, 2 drones, 5 cameras, 4 mics, and the portacapture X8, f2.8 Nikon lenses cables stands tripods lighting. Im drip heavy at this point. Look at the cost for beginning creators' mics, cameras, and cases. You're into 2k before you can blink. There has to be a point at which you find gear that works for you and your videos. Continually upgrading your gear is financially painful and unnecessary. Since we began this creators journey, we have upgraded the drip several times. We now have a good workflow video and sound. For us, jumping on the continual upgrade train is over.
Ayyye no worries at all! I actually made a mistake.. you actually have to press the record button for 3 seconds. And then it’ll change. Again a my bad! My bad!
Perfect combo with the Action 4. Moto vlogs with a fully covered camera and decent audio. Not only that you get the piece of mind of internal backup audio. You literally can't beat that combo. It's small compact and just works.
Big pimp always welcomed and enjoy the coffee ☕️. Thanks for the review and truly looks like not much has changed but the bit range ans some features. This would be a good grab like you said if you are in the market for one. Great review and thanks take care!
I got the $219 receiver/xmitter combo to go with my solo mic from the P3 combo. I agree that is the best way to go and the best size to carry around. The old case was the perfect size, but this new case seems like it will be to big to fit in my camera bag the way I have the mic 1 system. I like that I can just turn it on, it starts to auto record and I can do voice overs from my scripts, then just pop it into my MacBook via a usb-c cable and pull the files straight into FCP. No muss no fuss. You needed that 32 bit float at the end of the video, you were clipping pretty hard! 😁
Thanks soooooo much for clarifying the buttons! And, yes, we ABSOLUTELY agree it is ALL about the BLUETOOTH (particularly to Pocket 3 and Action 3). We just bought the Action 4 and White mic 2 to be Beer Vlogs b camera . And will get another Mic 2 when they are back in stock to be stereo on Pocket 3. Now that I have the Action 4 and pocket 3 I may just get the single TX. I have the og single TX and single Rx which works with the p3 but it shows up in the shot facing forward due to the 155 deg FOV on the A4 even in standard dewarp
I’m so tempted to get these! So I have the creator combo and I also have the rode wireless pro. Because I love tech, I’ll probably get these when the white version comes out. It might be useful when my wife or I wear light colored clothing. Great video as always brother!
How is the sound quality via Bluetooth on iPhone 15 Pro max? I feel like I might be disappoint because Bluetooth technology isn’t good enough yet. Unless Dji will do an update to improve the sound quality.
From the countless hours I watch on this wireless mic, the Bluetooth doesn't sound as good as it should. A bunch of creators agreed. Plus it doesn't come with the lab mic which is another expense. I'm torn between this mic and the Rode Wireless Pro. That would be nice if you do a comparison between both wireless mics.
Yea I agree.. For some reason when using Bluetooth for laptops and your phone, the frequency is lower than when using it for the pocket 3 and action 4… I’m not sure why that’s the case.. this is actually a major con that I forgot to mention.. so made a short about it. Lol

Do you know if the dji mic two parts would fit in the old case. Just thinking if I bought the one mic i wouldn’t have a case so leaning toward the full setZ
If you take the time to listen to the audio a few more times, you'll notice that the DJI Mic 2 actually brings out the vocals more prominently than the previous gen, with a brighter sound quality. I hesitated for a long time to buy a new microphone and waited a long time for the Mic2 from #DJI. The possibility of this simple connection via Bluetooth is great, but in my opinion Rode sounds much better. Apparently I'm not alone with this opinion either.
Man, I didn't want to give you any uncertainty. I think an honest comparison between the DJI Mic2 and Røde Wireless Pro in your specific way will help many of your viewers decide.
Everyone is going crazy for theDJI mic 2 but it doesn't look good or sound good, understandable if it's built to record quick and simple audio for vlogs / reels etc but I really wish they made one version that's basic as well as another version for much more professional situations even if it was much more expensive but right now it just seems so flawed, I really hope they have a massive firmware update underway to fix not only the audio quality but all the other flaws it seems to have!

Huh, I just tested two things: Connected the mic with bluetooth to my PC, and then connected the DJI Receiver to my PC with a usb-c cable, and recorded to tests - there definitely is a difference, but the bluetooth recording was not *that* bad, as in slightly more muffled, but nowhere near 16khz quality - so it *could* be something with the bluetooth capabilities of your pc?
