  • Barry White is looking to resurrect something special for the big Silver Auto Auction in Reno, Nevada.
On the Internet, his daughter Jen tracks down a '71 Plymouth Road Runner, which gets his blood pumping. The Chrysler model attracted MOPAR fans during the muscle car era and Barry’s hoping to do the same at auction, more than 30 years later.
Trouble is, on inspection, the Road Runner’s riddled with rust. But Barry's already bought it over the net. He has to think quickly. He buys a second Plymouth to get out of a bind.
Like Dr. Frankenstein, he plans to create one Super Muscle Car from the two donor wrecks. Then his designer, Chris Brown, suggests they crank the Frankenstein thing up another notch and make a GTX, the top-of-the-line Plymouth muscle car. But to pull it off, they need a MOPAR Hemi engine. And that’s when things go down hill fast.
The big MOPAR dream runs out of time and costs Barry way more than he wanted to spend. And the more they get into their Frankenstein creation, the more they find it was probably a big mistake.
MOPAR fans are hard-markers and fiercely protective of their brand. Can Barry and the team create a GTX to loosen the cash from the pockets? Or will they be left with a monster no one wants?

Great stance, sound, and wheel adjustment. Initially hated the purple, but it grew on me a little once it had black added to the hood. Bravo Wrecks to Riches, love the show.

Beautiful restoration. My favorite muscle car 71-72 Plymouth roadrunner. IMO 1971 was the zenith of muscle car designs. Every American manufacturer offered badass models. Car designers were true masters of their craft.

TheBatt1958 i think 70 was the pinnacle.. 71 saw some higher insurance rates and more regulations.. but i agree 70, 71 they looked amazing. Really anything before 74 were great.. by 74 the engines were either detuned or had smaller engines entirely.

The one thing I liked about growing up in the late sixties, was the American muscle cars were loud and always racing on 107 Leaded pump gas. It was so Exciting. Another thing I really liked was the Purple on the Chryslers and the Oranges and Yellows on the other brands. The thing I did not like about these cars at the time was this ridiculous penchant for vinyl roofs that rotted after a few years. I wish I could go back to 1969 and live there forever....

As a half now owner of my dad's 1958 ford fairlane 500 pretty much original, and as I worked with my dad in a old shed for years to bring this car up to its present state now. Many hours of combing fields, old barns, junkyards, and backwoods hunting for parts to keep life in his baby. He now passed away and I'm left to bare the heart aches that goes with the task of having to sell his creation and come to terms of having turn the memories into cash and damn it hurts so bad that I'm in tears daily. Hoping to find someone to make her their baby as she was his baby... She was such a important and life long joy for him that myself and my sister had her carved into his headstone....... RIP dad and ride on . Remember the endless hours we worked on her together, forever and ever. Wishing I could keep her but half owners in it means I have to pay the other half owner for her part and I don't have to pay. So forgive me dad. Love you with all my heart😭👩❤👍💋!

    • @fredgarvin8280

Depends on if they went with the RRs vin. many a virgin base model satellite or cornet became RR,GTX, SuperBee,RT back in the day after the real car was damaged and a lil ol lady base model was purchased to put all the real muscle car parts on including the numbers in various places. That was real common in the 80s. i know of several rare big name "documented" matching number cars that aint. LOL ive also seen a group of guys in the late 60 early 70s that used to fork new muscle cars off train tranporters. Theyd take the car with a desirable motor into a nearby garage. harvest the motor and put some low horse substitute in its place. Seen it go on in dealerships where the owners kid had keys to the dealer. They pluck a motor for buddy or just pad their pocket, then throw some low horse version in the donor and no one was the wiser. Thats why I laugh at this match numbers nonsense. Gettin caught meant getting fired or going to jail. They covered their tracks to varying degree.

when you have upwards of 700 hp the auto trans doesn't matter and you won't need a new clutch every 3 to 5 k miles. even driving easy I.E no dumping the clutch for burnouts but getting on it at half throttle when you're just cruising now and then will still do the clutch in no matter what kind of clutch you have and you can't step on the gas more than an inch with out a trip into the bushes. This car is a super muscle car ! also with super maintenance intervals. It needs a garage and a gearhead to keep it on the road period...until some idiot crashes into it which is inevitable .I for one would be scared to drive it on a public road see the word PUBLIC!!! .How long do you think you can take up 3 mini parking places until all the local cops will know you by your 1st name. Obviously the fastest car you ever had was a honda with a header and a cold air kit. You younger people don't know what it's like to have REAL power. This car is almost un drivable on the road. There is no comparison between a challenger Hell Cat and this car look at overlayed torque curves and rpm's and then come talk to me At least it has REAL BUMPERS !. can you say TRAILER QUEEN ?

I love/drive mostly stick shift, but the problem is the synchronizers, they only take so much HP. Then you need a dog or crash box, which is a pain in stop and go traffic. Also, if you're going to sell to the general public...it has to be an automatic. Stick shifts are pretty much anti-theft devices :)

@@nicirvin1994 oh yeah, I've seen 3 different shades of purple that were all called Royal Plum too. 2 of them look bad ass, one, not so much. I was born in 81 so I vaguely remember old muscle cars as a kid outside of whatever versions they had in the late 70s2and 80's. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about all the old cars I like and sometimes it's hard to find accurate info. I spent a couple years learning everything I can about old S&W and Colt revolvers. There is so much misinformation on here and on the internet in general, it's a wonder I ever got all the stuff figured out that I wanted to know. Also since S&W would overlap changes they made with 2 different dash numbers and some changes reflect a dash number change and some reflect a particular year or in the 80's a few year period. It took me fucking forever, but now, I know a lot about old S&W and Colt revolvers which is good because I have began collecting them. I already have an insane collection of old school music from 20's - 90's and a ton of great vinyl with a console record player with autoplay! The original playlist! I have a great collection of movies and TV shows and I can talk for days on any one of those subjects. Old muscle cars, that's the next collection. Trying to learn as much as I can before I begin.

Totally! If you use $60 for labor they're over $80,000. Plus overhead. This shop loses money on EVERY car they put out! That's why no one else is doing it. If it weren't for the show paying them for filming, residuals and ad value they'd never even consider it. I even wonder if there is some sort of rebate going back to the buyers?

I am young and would like to have a muscle car even not rebuilt, but prices are crazy because baby boomers are preferred customers, one question, how an old man suppose to looks good in a muscle car? +a traveler on the road: Yes a lot of the baby boomers such as my Father bought there houses dirt cheap, my parents paid $30,000 & it's worth close to $250,000. My Father worked at the same factory for 40yrs & retired at 57yrs of age with a decent pension. My Mom&Dad h own a super rare 1975 dodge dart hang ten with a 318 & a crank sun roof. They made hang tens in 1974 & 1975 & they came with a slant six,318,360. My Father also owned two 1971 plymouth roadrunners, one had a 318 & the other a 383 Magnum & he also owned a 69 plymouth gtx with a 440 super commando.
