- This tutorial shows my experiment of changing the battery of my Ipad Air without the trouble of removing mother board and every other component around it.
I was looking for tutorials on how to change the battery, most of the tutorials had me removing every component inside the ipad...i said NO! I am going to try my way! here is the result for you.
Great video on how to bypass taking out the board unnecessarily. This definitely saves time. Thumbs up!
your process worked great! THANKS
Thanks, bro. I was able to replace battery of ipad air 2 with your kind video!
nice one. i will try this one on my ipad air, thanks
Nice video bro. What model iPad is that? Thanks.
***Caution*** removing the logic board and other components helps to prevent damage to them when applying heat to the back of the case to melt the glue on the battery making it quicker and easier to remove.
Short cuts are sometimes good and sometimes not, so personally a few more minutes taken to protect possible damage to your expensive investment has got to be worth the time.
So here's the thing....
He takes longer to separate the battery from the case then to remove all components and apply a slow gentle heat facilitating an easier battery removal.
I really appreciate the effort... but there just isn't a justification to risk the potential component damage to save a few more minutes of time.
Thanks dude u fixed my iPad thanks bro it the best I’m gonna sub and like every video

I am glad it helped man.

Great video and I would add this; to lift that silver looking plate over battery contacts is to heat back side of the Ipad then lift that piece and part of circuit board. Same thing if you try to lift the battery. Both battery and circuit board module are glued to back side.
Anyway, It worked for me, but the screws were very small and not easy to handle. You would have to remove some screws to remove the front cover (Touch screen and display). You will have to watch few videos to get thing done..

Good point
Great video, it helped my husband a lot
Karina Oliveira - you are most welcome
Thank you
Awesome bro!
Eyes Wide Shut Air 2
hi, how Jump Starting ipadair total drained batter, thenks?
I removed screen and LCD to stop damage to cables..., scraped battery out one section at a time with nail file,screwdriver..NO HEAT..unscrewed logic board screws, lifted board enough to pull battery over lug...very easy...
When I take out the screw my connector is really tight
you only have to remove the battery clip holder screw once inside..u fold up the screen…fold up the battery on 90deg angle…then once screw out..put a leaver in under the clip..then put new battery in and put together thecway u took it apart
I changed the battery but now the ipad does not power up anymore. I do believe the screwdrive I used touched the motherboard while old battery was in and made a spark. Do you think the motherboard is dead now?
Any way of testing? Battery I got is a second hand spare one. I’m just wandering if maybe the second battery is dead too.
I am sorry it happened to you. I fried an iphone 8 trying to open it touched something and "zap" - it died. As i explained, i am no technician, i am just hands on and enjoy doing this after a long day of work. I hope you can save you item
Did you earth yourself before starting the fix. Always touch something metal and grounded before starting a repair. I just touch the metal frame on my table before assembling my PC and fixing my huawei tablet. Gonna try battery replacement on my Ipad. Waiting for repair tools from China.
Just a tip...WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING THE SCREEN OR DIGITISER, because you’ll end up leaving fingerprints all over the inside of the screen and they look awful.
What happened if the battery is not properly insulated?
is this iPad Air 1?
Juan Tera - Air 2 , but it should be the same procedure ... they look very similar inside
thats not a air 2… in air 2 the battery clip is right next to the screen connectors
i wouldn't recommend this over time them battery connectors will break flexing back and forth like that is going to weaken them. not noticed another thing when he was putting the new battery in he tells you about lining the hold with the connector. now notice that bit got cut from the video and then he goes straight into telling you about the glue at the back of the battery. this tells me he either had problems or he had to take the parts away anyway or it could indicate that it took twice as long to put it together. yes he says pins bend but for him to cut that bit was it also something else.

No understand
Nothing went wrong , the reason there is a missing section is because I was the one holding the phone while i was doing the repair. So... at some point I though I was recording when the camera was really off .. but I could not reverse the process just to record again.
One more time, I am not by any means , a electronic technician, I was just curious about if I could do it or not ... and I did. Just be careful with the pins and you will be fine . Matter of fact you should be careful with anything from opening to closing the device , the pins is something that I called more attention to it since it can easily be missed.
I wish I didn't see this video, after putting in a new battery, and it constantly rebooted every few minutes, I bought another battery and it did the same, after more research, it looks like the little prying I did to get the old one out, must have damaged something
Sounds like the battery may not be making a solid connection.
For those of you who think this is a good video, you must know your way around iPads. I wanted to see if he had a different method of taking off the front, and that wasn't shown. He held his phone long ways at the beginning of the video, and you saw only half the screen. I couldn't figure out what he was doing, so I didn't watch the entire video.
Low volume.
Sorry. I was holding the cellphone while doing the task which is self explanatory by just watching it. I hope it helped you - my point was to show people how i did it.
I've fixed loads of these sorts of things and honestly, chuck it in the bin and get a secondhand one.
More fool me for buying it new (I paid using old Bitcoin, so I didn't really pay, but..) - two months after warranty, Apple, in polite language, of course, "FUCK OFF!" It had just stopped charging for no reason and the battery was fine. I knew it was stupid to buy an Apple device and now my fears are confirmed. Yes, they are as easily as shitty as Louis Rossman says - maybe more. People who still pay out money that they can't afford for Apple stuff need to get their heads examined. And once you get in, look at what is in there - you are paying $$$ for shit. Stay away, Apple will either learn, or more deservedly, go down.
BTW, I was just seeing how to get it out to sell it.
how did you get the battery out with the Circle on battery connector part. You skipped it because you BROKE it. PHONY VIDEO
If i broke it, how did i put the new battery in? You've got to pay attention man. Look that i have lifted the battery and the circle comes off the little metal stump, its obvious you can't pull it straight , that why i have lifted the mother board. Same way i placed the new battery in 4:44 minutes in the video - thee is nothing broken, pay attention. (its a given). Look at how many people saw my video and actually fixed their ipad. This is a legit video, i fixed my ipad and did not brake a think. Your comment is phony.
@@straighttothepoint8309 You could have just pulled the battery out and ripped the circle anyway, and as for the new battery cut a small piece out the circle , its not needed to have a full circle to connect power...
You skipped over the hardest bit, reconnecting the battery,
Look at 4:44 forward, its just the reverse process that i did to disconnect. Again, i was using my iphone to record and missed some little steps ( not a professional ipad fixer here) - many people that saw the video was able to reproduce the success. Got think out of the box man!
You skipped the important part -.-
Dont't just go with the "group mentality" and follow somebody's comment without verifying it on your own.

@@straighttothepoint8309 NVM, got it, had to stick the spudger under the connector, thanks.
Fucking audio is crap man.
bro...if your video title is "replace the battery without removing the mother board" you show NOTHING! NOTHING about that. don't cut the most important part of the video. you cut it both times taking out and put it in.
