The iPad works amazingly the box came a little dirty, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA no plastic wrap, but the box was sealed and had everything else in the box along with the wrapping, the iPad itself is gorgeous, I got the yellow 64g game storage is good for me along with Socials and school stuff. No scratches or marks came with the charger and box fast speed, and if you are buying a pen get the 1st gen don’t make the mistake I did !!
Your video gave me the nerve to go ahead and replace the battery in my iPad Air 2. I found trying to replace the 4 tiny screws pretty difficult. Of course it doesn’t help that I’m in my 70s and don’t see as well as I before. Tips on replacing the screws would be helpful. Thanks for producing this most informative video.
One should never fall back on "advancing age" as an excuse to not try or learn something new ;)
I'm proud of you, Bill!
If we are talking about the same screws (on the shielding plates), I gently placed them with fingertips before screwing them down.
Let me know how your iPad Air 2 turns out!!!
Vestigial Voice oh yes, it is working great. I’ve been a ham radio operator for 53 years. No self respecting ham wouldn’t give a repair a try. It beats buying a new iPad. I’ve realized that need to buy some of the lighted magnifying glasses so I see the very small parts in modern equipment.
The screwdriver should be magnetic, so the screw can be put on its tip, before approaching the screw hole. Then I recommend to turn the screws counter clockwise first, until it drops into the exiting thread, and then tighten it down carefully. If the screwdriver isn’t magnetic by itself, a small magnet on the shaft may work, too.
Thank you!!! You made this look simpler than the rest!! Not saying it’s simple but thanks for keeping it short and sweet!!!
Great compliment, kat! I'm tickled that you noticed that I value the preciousness of viewer's time! Bless you 🙏
a 60mm or 72mm guitar pick works better than any purpose made tool I'v etried.
My Ipad air 2 wants also a new battery but i am not going to opent it for fear of causing havoc!
Thanks for the video, it helped to fix my moms Air2 since it has all her photos on it and she watches all her soap operas on it as well. She's very happy 😁😁
You're welcome, Claw! I'm glad it helped you out :)

Just busted my brother's original Apple screen attempting this, frustratingly during step 1. I used an actual heat gun and applied lots of heat. I've done several iphones/ipads so I am not new to this. Now, it's a bigger problem than if he had just taken it to a professional in the first place. I wish I never even started on this. To anybody reading this that hasn't began yet, take a moment to consider the deeper hole you may find yourself in if something goes wrong compared to just letting a shop do it to begin with. Not just financial loss, but time and frustration as well. You might be ruining a perfectly good screen and having to deal with the fingerprint button and whatever else collateral damage that might manifest.
Same here, just put everything together and now the screen is damaged. Now I have another job to do
I turned my central heating on full blast and propped up the iPad against it for about 25 mins to soften it up. Then I used normal blow dryer and took my time doing exactly in this video. All sorted
Same here. And I did it very carefully. Now the screen only displays lines... :(
Life isnt life if you dont take some risk
@@northwoodsgrills86cool now you can make a video on telling others what to do and not to do problem solved
Don't waste ur time, i bought a new battery replacement kit and did exactly what this guy did
but after spending a good hour trying to get the screen off there was no way it was going to come out, in the end I finished up cracking the screen so now I'm stuck with a new battery and a broken ipad. People who demonstrate these things have probably worked on them previously and so the screen comes out easier second time.
Make sure you do not put the tool more than probably a quarter inch in or you will break the screen..... from experience
Thanks for the great video, it really encourages me NOT to replace the battery myself.
I am failing completely at the first step - getting a first opening between the screen and the case. My iPad has a black, not white, border around the screen. Is it possible there is a difference from the white border in your and other videos?
Nope, the process is the same regardless of color. Keep at it, bud, slowly escalating heat will eventually loosen your adhesive. Good luck, charles 🍀
During the whole year of 2020 my tablet wouldn't turn out. I tried this method and my tablet that I had for 7 years now finally revived. Thank you so much! I'm not a technician so this video has helped me a lot and I am thankful you made this video :)
You're welcome!
I'm glad to hear everything worked out for you, Prince of Darkness 😉
My anxiety when u took the screen off📈📈📈📈📈
Always disconnect the battery before the screen!
You could easily damage the backlight
How did you make your initial entry onto the iPad? Did you use that plastic tab to separate the screen? With several minutes of heat on the edges mine remains super tight and very difficult to pry open. Any suggestions? Thanks Jay
Hi Jay, initial entry using the pry tool from the side after heating. Once you have the tab in place, then you can carefully go after the corners. You can do it, my friend 👌
Just a reminder to never puncture the battery. I almost burned my house down so I speak from some experience
Awesome job, great detail. Thanks for posting
Wow that is friggin ridiculous you have to go to those lengths
Thanks for the help.
Keep posting
Thanks for the video. Repair-shop didn't even want to replace the battery on my air 2, since they noticed that the charging-port was flaky. Got my own battery for 1/4th the price and replaced it after watching your video.
I heated the motherboard-section to make it easier to insert the battery over the pillar.
Excellent going, erik!
It's success stories like yours that motivate me to put these things together 😀
This repair isn’t very cost effective for a repair shop, especially if the $100 screen were to be damaged.
@@mmaaddict78 Yeah. I actually thought it was good of them to be upfront with customer satisfaction. They felt I wouldn't be happy with just the battery replacement. And, as you say, the risk would have been too high if not everything seemed tip-top on the outside.
Nice video, good script and even narration. Close up views very helpful, better than locked down angles. You know what you’re doing and how to share it.
I appreciate your carefully crafted compliment :)
Thank you for visiting my channel!
Are there any side effects to this, like any warnings popping up in iOS saying battery is not genuine when trying to access Battery health in Settings?
I cannot speak to the very latest of Apple's iPad models, but these do not discern between genuine and generic batteries. Good question, plex.
What the Parade Means?
nice video! i would like your opinion on something. i have an iPad Air 2 from 2016 and the battery recently started dropping like crazy. it drains extremely fast and only charges with off-brand charges very slowly. now it’s just died, off and no sign of life. i want to get the battery replaced, but if they replace the battery and the iPad still doesn’t work, i’ll still have to pay the $180. do you think the battery is the problem here and replacing it will fix the iPad? thanks :)
Hi Omar,
From your description, it sounds like a fleeting battery and probably nothing else, yes.
#1 Why are you paying anyone $180 to replace your battery?
#2 If you've resigned to the fact that your iPad Air 2 is lost, follow my video and give it a shot yourself for $20!
Good luck, my friend 🍀
Good vid! You can use some isopropanol to loosen the adhesive of the screen and battery. Do not deform the battery or it will start to grow in size in the future.
Both clear video and instructions, as well as some tips like removing and installing the battery. Love your work man keep it up!
I appreciate the kind words, you made my day! 😄
Good vid. This is a faster way of doing it, I see that some of the other people with these vids strip the motherboard, speakers and camera which kinda puts me off trying but your way seems a lot quicker.
Thank you for the comment, Anton! You gonna' give it a shot? :)
I was doing an iPad once and the screen wasn't cracked but what I did was purchased a new Digitizer/LCD screen as well as a battery and hoping that I wouldn't need to replace the screen, I was 98% complete removing the screen and suddenly POP, the glass smashed AHHHHH $(@#**@&$%$^&*#^$*&. No loss as I had already purchased the screen combo
Dang! Well, I'm glad you were prepared :)
Thank you for sharing your experience and visiting my channel!
Best place to buy a battery please
When I plugged the ipad in to charge the apple logoe shows up for a few seconds then disappears so a boot loop but az soon az it is unplugged it blacks out and every no dead battery sign or nothing we opened it and found the black plastic in pieces in there you seemed to just get rid of the plastic is this why the device boot loops when plugged in and why there's nothing when plugged in
Thanks, this helped me replace my battery.
Thanks for the tip lift the battery plug from the back of battery..
I am gonna buy a new ipad air 5 …. plus a apple battery if the apple store has one in stock….and dependin on how much it is and do this job to the air 2 oldie now…new air 5 is a lot faster anyway…
Thanks, I tried, with heat pad and hot air brush could not get front glass to separate. Broke glass. Its trash.
dude the first thing todo is to disconnect the battery before u disconnect the display.
can you use a hair dryer?
You certainly can try if that's all you have, AD. I never do, simply because it doesn't seem to get reliably hot enough, but there have been some viewers who have reported success using their hair dryer.
I think a standard hair dryer will work and not get so hot, it cooks your electronics.... as fast!
Thanks for the video I can see the inside of the iPad Air 2 at 2:16 my iPad was dead for weeks now my iPad will be fixed tomorrow but thx for the instructions how to take apart any iPad models
Outstanding, Epic! Screen removal can be tricky, so be patient, my friend 🍀
Ok well my iPad Mini needs a battery replacement then. It hasn’t turn on since September 9th 2022. I hope it works, and I get my iPad Mini 5th generation on. It has lots of video games, photos, videos and memories on there along with fun digital art projects.
Hi, what about the process for "attaching the screen" back on in its casing? does it need some sort of glue? or can just put pressure on it, and it will stick back together? also same with the battery? do we need to put some thermal paste on the battery? TY in advance
Darky, thank you for the comment, brother.
-Regarding the screen, as long as you didn't peel off the adhesive strip, a bit of mellow heat will restore the stickiness and allow you to press it back together. I always use an iPad case and that acts as an additional binder to keep it tight (see earlier comment, in the even you ripped off all the adhesive stripping).
-There will be some residual glue on the iPad's rear inner-shell to hold the battery down, thus, in my experience, it has never required additional agents to stay in place. I hope you find this video helpful.
@@VestigialVoice Great! Thanks for the reply, Stay Safe
Hi, what would you use to stick the front back on please? The kit I bought didn’t have anything to stick back on
Thank you for the comment, UAT. I presume you are talking about the perimeter adhesive on the back of the screen, ya? If so, ordinarily, I reuse the original, spreading it back into most of the previous positions. However, if it is not salvageable, I have purchased sets on ebay.com. Search: IPAD AIR 2 SCREEN ADHESIVE. Typically they are sold in sets of 2 for about $7. I hope this helps you, bud :)
Vestigial Voice hi, that’s great, thank you very much :-)
Took my iPad in to an Apple store. They lied to me telling me that you can’t but a replacement battery for an Air2. They wanted me to upgrade to a new one. I went home and purchased a 5 star battery and tools on Amazon for $35.00. Apple is the most unethical company to deal with. No scruples there.
Way to go, V! I hope your install goes smoothly 🍀
Why the other videos they are removing many parts like camera, antenna cable etc. So complicated. Your video is simple and great, i think i can do it by myself since i have a experience as a phone technician.
Thank you for the compliment, norman!
Disassembling all those components enables a simplified removal and attachment of the battery, but with some gentle technique, you can easily skip all those steps, as shown in my video.
Have a great weekend, my friend! 👍
i was doing everything fine then i got to the bottom right corner and it snapped like a pringle
thanks man i need to do this..... battery life 6 days lol
what a great video, great in detail, thank you sir for sharing this video a lot
You're welcome, Yirehmiyah! Thank you for stopping by and checking out my video :)
My iPad is the 1 gen with the stock battery since it came out
Thank you for this video. I watched some other videos too, but yours truly made me understand what I needed to do and think about, to be able to replace the battery safely. I saved alot of money by being able to do it myself. So I truly appreciates this kind of videos. 🙂
You made my day, Emelie 😊
This video was great because I need to replace my battery. But one thing, what adhesive did you use to put the screen back on or did you use none at all?
Hi Jerry,
I get asked this question a lot...
You can purchase a new set of adhesive strips--there are loads of inexpensive sets available on eBay.
I simply warm the original adhesive stripping before laying the screen down.
Thank you for visiting the channel! 👏
I can report success, too.
Removed the display mostly with heat and some drops of isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
Using IPA I could remove the original battery easily with only minor deformations and no heat at all. I also drained the old battery down until the pad turned itself off, before opening it up.
I then heated up the logic board part of the case and used a black nylon stick under the battery to lift the board up near the connector by putting it under it and twist it a bit. The same way the new battery went in in a few seconds. There is absolutely no need to remove any other components like other instructions show.
The worst part was cleaning up the rest of the glue.
In hindsight I recommend NOT to use IPA for the display, only for the battery and cleaning up. The IPA dissolves the glue easily but only for a short time, after it dissipates the glue becomes sticky again.
The iPad cover was hilarious 😀
Does this need any type of glue to put the screen back on? Didn’t see anywhere you mentioned that. 🤷🏾♂️
There is an outer adhesive strip that keeps the screen in place. I like to reuse it, but if you destroy it while opening, they can be purchased online for cheap.
Before you start any project, the biggest question is
What's the worst can happen?
I couldn't possibly agree more.
ok fuck this i'm taking it to the shop
Are you saying the ebay batteries only last 6 days?
I followed your instruction to replace the battery for my iPad Air 2.
Two areas I found most challenging are:
(1) Opening the case - it was difficult to do the initial insertion, not knowing how much I needed to warm it up. I tried a few times with my hair dryer which did not work at all. I finally got the nerve to use the heat gun at medium heat, which worked wonders (I heated it for about 1 1/2 - 2min with heat gun on the edge of the iPad but kept it constantly moving). Once I was able to insert a pry tool, the rest became really easy.
(2) Get the small plug of the new battery inserted into place - this was so difficult. At one point I thought I was going to break something - I had to stop and came after a few minutes to refocus. But you tip of lifting the mother board and getting a small screwdriver behind the battery helped. It was a big relief when I was able to put the small screw in, confirming the battery contacts are aligned.
Thank you for the great video, it was enormously helpful.
Outstanding, Lei! I think you hit on the two most difficult areas of the job. Thank you for making my day! 😇
Lease I'm traying to change both cells dryed for another two new. Is very confused the (+ and -) mark on the original battery. From top the battery have ( + -) marks, but from the bottom are inverted... I need to know the + , - polarity of the power connector. In a view from "above" (camera in the left of the image) (charging port at the right of the screen) the order is positive-negative from left to right or the other way around? I think in the top label the polarity indicated matches with the conector's polarity, and from bottom of the battery the polarity marks refers to the cell´s polarity, is it correct?
Hi Marcelo, sounds like you are doing some advanced business over there!
Is it that much cheaper to swap cells or are you doing this as a challenge?
I believe you have the right idea...
The best way to check for positive and negative terminals is using a multimeter. Even if the cell is almost depleted, you can detect polarity.
I'm interested to see how your project turns out, please film and post it on youtube, my friend!!!!!
@@VestigialVoice Is a challenge for me indeed. Finally, I managed to put in the correct order. The Ipad recognized the new cells and turned on normally. Now I'm in another challenge....I'm trying to jailbreak it but is difficult because it has the iOS 14.4.1. I promise I'll put some video about new batteries installed.
@@Molleras you're the man, marcelo! When I jailbroke an iphone, I lost the ability to use cellular service. I'm curious to hear what functionality is lost jailbreaking an iPad. Keep me posted 👏
@@VestigialVoice I jailbreaked ok thanks to this video: ua-cam.com/video/8ozaXtPbDo8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SuperSolutionsDIY . I proceeded on my own risk checking the item that said: [X] allow untested iOS. First, it gave me a USB error..but I tried again plugin the iPad in another USB port of my laptop and all this process ended correctly. later I used the irfptools that erased the iCloud lock screen. Now I'm using the iPad completely erased from the factory...I'll see if there will be something missing...I´m sorry but I'm a windows guy nor Mac.
Well, the battery install went... bad. But I got it done. I went to turn it on and the screen is broken 😂 I guess while I was removing the screen I bent it up too much and broke the screen from the inside. Thanks for the info though! I shouldve watched this video before even starting on replacing the battery.
It saddens me to hear, JC. The first time I did this fix, I discovered a micro-fracture (about the size of Abe's nose on a penny) in the corner of the screen. Since you are writing me, yours probably turned out worse?
The good news is you are learning. Your next fix will turn out better!!
Thank you for visiting my channel, bud :)
yep, same here.. :/
Do you just place the screen back onto the used glue or do you have to clean the edges of old glue and buy some sort of a "replacement gasket" and apply that before you put it back together?
Typically, I simply staighten and realign the old strips. It works fine if you use an iPad cover case. The alternative is to peel the old strips off and apply a new set. I've noticed that the screen lies a bit more flush that way. These adhesive strip kits are very reasonable and available on eBay. Have a great week, bud! 🍀
Using hairdryer and boy I can’t open the screen. Do I have to buy heat gun?
I highly recommend a heat gun. They are $18 at Harbor Freight (online or in store), plus you can use a 20% off coupon.
Clear, concise video, thanks man.
I think after this im just not buying Apple products anymore though
My battery didn’t slide in like that. I’m curious if there’s an uneven surface under that area.
Also, I got it in. But I can’t see if it’s lined up correctly. The screw isn’t going in very easily which is indicative that it’s not lined up properly.
Lastly, once I did get the screw back in, not with ease, I got the ribbon reattached and the power does not come on.
Suggestions are welcomed.
Excellent
Did that did on my iPad when the battery got broked
Great video! Short and sweet, with none of the excessive verbiage that most video makers seem to feel compelled to include. I still need help though.
I got the old battery out, new battery in. It started charging, but only went up to about 70%, and the iPad keeps spontaneously stopping and rebooting. The one problem I had was that I broke the single battery connector. The plastic under the metal shield broke. I put as much of it back as I could, but only about half of it. Some of the gold contacts were still visible, so I "insulated" them with a piece of packing tape. The screw would no longer "bite" that little mounting post, so I again resorted to packing tape using a longer piece to hold the connector down. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Paul, I think you've pinpointed the problem area. The iPad relies on that screw to maintain contact with the battery and your tape doesn't seem to be doing the trick.
I've never broken or encountered a broken device in quite that fashion.
I couple spitball-type ideas:
1. Has it become a "depth" problem that we could use a slightly longer or larger bore screw to secure the battery?
2. I'd take a closer look at the area, but perhaps we could strategically place a small glob of hot glue in between. Emphasis on SMALL, because we are trying to avoid that gap that is giving us the trouble in the first place.
3. Could we place something underneath the battery (between the rear case and battery) to apply additional pressure in an effort to improve the connection?
Let me know what you come up with, my friend, good luck 🍀
I use an electric pancake griddle, set to 100 deg C with an infrared temperature gun (from Harbor Freight or online). Lay the display, face down for 2 min. Pick it up with gloves to protect your hands and place it on a towel on your bench. Begin with a thin razor blade or a stainless steel spudging tool to carefully, and slowly, raise the first corner. The lower right, below the home button is the area with least likelihood of hitting an internal component. The frame edge that holds the display, where the adhesive resides, is only 1/8 inch (3mm) wide, so do not go deeper under the display, thus preventing contact with internal flex circuits and components. After getting the first edge up, slide the thin spudger along the bottom, placing playing cards, old credit cards, or thin pieces of plastic behind it as you go, to prevent the warm adhesive from coming back together. Carefully, and SLOWLY, work you way all the way around the perimeter, finally lifting the display gently free. Do NOT torque the display AT ALL!! The bending moment will cause the front glass or the LCD under it to fracture.
To help remove the battery, use larger "plastic" scrapers found at the paint store, to help get all the way under the battery, once the login board side and the battery connector are loose and ready to come away. It is critical that the new battery's contacts are in alignment with the logic board as it is slid underneath. To help prevent damage and shorting, cut a small plastic square with a notch for the cover screw, and place that over the battery contacts as it is slid into place, and jockeyed into position, perfectly aligning the screw hole. Once the battery adhesive is securely in place, remove the little contact protector and apply the cover with the screw. As soon as the contacts meet the logic board on its backside, the battery becomes active, powering parts of the logic board and the charging circuit. Caution: Always treat the battery as a high energy source that can overheat and possibly catch fire or explode if the gold contacts are shorted.
Hope this helps. - Dan
Outstanding detail, Dan, thank you for the post! ❤️❤️❤️
Can I use the iPad without the battery? Remove battery and use it while plugged to the power outlet?
Great video, some closeups would be nice… and also a warning that the battery and your iPad could go in flames if you damage the old battery while trying to take it out..
I tried to learn how to take the screen and stuff off but I accidentally broke the screen in the process and now I nearly lost my comfort item from thinking I was smart
I did all the following you described but my monitor is blank. I rechecked all the connections and I can't see anything wrong. Do I need to charge it before closing the case to test it?
Putting the battery back in to the slot, I found if you raise there board like you do then take the blue triangle tool you have and slide it under the battery (flat) so it raises the connector on battery over that screw lip. went right in first time..
Great little tip, jim, thank you for the input 👍
Hi sir Could you use a hair dryer to heat the surrounding?
Some viewers have reported success using a hair dryer.
I discourage it for these reasons:
1. If you are unable to sufficiently heat the surrounding adhesive enough before prying, you run the risk of damaging the screen.
2. Budget heat guns are under $20 and highly versatile for all sorts of projects. It's worth the nominal cost to purchase an effect tool for the job.
Thanks for the comment, requin.
Perfect!!
Great Video, helps a lot for a first timer....
I appreciate the kind words, Tim :)
just give apple store your Ipad and they will replace it with there own battery
i did this and its really great and strong battery.
Where did you purchase the micro pry bar set?
It often comes as a kit with your replacement battery, chris. You going to give it a shot?
I'd recommend disconnecting the battery and sliding in something non conductive between the connector. This prevents anything from being fried.
Thank you for the input, Skelly, I like that thought. When manipulating delicate electronics, if possible, use tools that do not retain static electricity. An alternative would be to ground tools during the procedure.
this video is perfect to learn the do and do nots when changing the battery!
I love to hear that, alex! Thank you for stopping by the channel and brightening my day!
Many way to open battery iPad your's video very simple i must try out thanks
how does the screen go back on and stay on?
I reuse the adhesive strips, but if you mangle them up, you can certainly purchase a new set online.
Awesome video, man! My iPad Air 2 needs a battery replacement and after watching a few other videos on the subject I came across yours. It's pretty straight forward and to the point. Thank you.
Thank you for leaving me a comment and good luck with your repair, my friend, you've made my day 👍
THanks for helping with installing battery to the slot. I used knife
Nice going, my friend! 👍
Excellent video. Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words, james! I hope you have a successful battery install 😀
Hello Sir, i have a lighting spot on my screen. It can be seen mainly when my screen has white pages. with colors it disappears. Do you know what is it? THANK YOY
hiya, mike, I cannot understand what you are trying to describe. 🤔
Just bo7ght a used iPad air 2
It's great but battery is already at 600 cycles. It only lasts under 6 hours. Ideally I'd like it to last longer but I'm worried I'll break it if I try to be eplace the battery.
How risky and difficult is this? Ifixit says it's very difficult and so idk if it's worth the risk for me. However I really wish I could have the battery last 10+ hours like New ones
Also, I purchased the iPad for 160. I'm considering having apple fix it but don't want to spend 100 bucks on something that was meant to be cheap
Thank you for your comment, John. Apple products are both elegant and delicate by design, which is why many of us cherish them -- but they also demand a higher price tag. I've done a few of these. They are, by no means, simple swaps. I didn't perform my first battery replacement until I resigned to losing it. If you are going to damage the unit, it will be during the screen removal. Batteries run $20 and a new screen/digitizer is about $80 USD. I'm excited to hear your choice, bud :)
@@VestigialVoice ok thanks for all the info I really appreciate it :)
So, looking at replacement batteries, are there any brands you would reccomend or avoid. I see a lot on amazon and ebay but have read a few things about aftermarket batteries being less stable. I just don't want one that will like explode or something lol.
Ifixit charges about $50 for their battery, maybe their battery would be better quality but it sounds fairly pricey.
I think I will keep the ipad as it is for 6 months to a year, then when it gets really bad I'll replace it
I've only purchased them from ebay and, if shopping the cheaper ones, unfortunately we really have to rely on the reviews. The cruddy part is that bad vendors tend to disappear and then pop up under new names. I've never had the poorer quality ones do any harm, but they typically will not have the capacity of higher quality products.
@@VestigialVoice oh ok thanks for the tip. I'll definitely look for one from a vendor with high ratings. :D
90% of the inner working of an IPad is battery
I accidentally poked a hole in the battery and then smoke started to get out of it💀
Oh my gosh, I'm scared to ask how that happened...
@@VestigialVoice I was taking the battery out with a screwdriver which caused the hole 😭👍
Hello sir ,can I use this battery for the replacement of ipad 6th generation battery ?
Hi Subrata, that is a really good question in which I do not have the perfect answer.
The iPad 6th has a battery that holds 20% greater capacity than the iPad Air 2, but I do not have one here to compare dimensions.
So, even if the size fit and the connector fit, putting an iPad Air 2 battery into an iPad 6th would not hold the charge as long.
I hope that helps you out, bud.
If you get brave and try it out, let me know your results! :)
@@VestigialVoice one more question sir. Can I use 4.3. V iPad air 1 battery for the replacement of the iPad 6th generation 3.76v battery ?? Please help.
Thank you for the comment, bong.
Full-disclosure: I've never done that before, however, I see the boys a iFixit use the battery for iPad Air 1, iPad 5, and iPad 6 interchangeably -- and they are pretty dog-gone good!
Here's the link: www.ifixit.com/Store/iPad/iPad-Air-iPad-5-iPad-6-Battery/IF128-027?o=4
I look forward to hearing how it works out for you, bud!
Have a great week :)
Dumb question. I don’t have a heat gun, and any alternatives like a hair dryer? Figured might not be as fast but could still work?
Nope, you will break it. You need heat to loosen the thermal adhesive to lift the screen off. Heat guns are so cheap. Check out a Harbor Freight store.
My battery drain so fast if I replace battery so the problem will solve?
That should solve your problem. How old is your iPad?
@@VestigialVoice I bought it in 2017 ipad air2
@@technogamerz19m23 , it sounds like a new battery would solve your problem.
Thank you for visiting the channel, my friend 🍀
My iPad battery puffed up so much it popped the screen off clean no damage 🤣💀 saved me the trouble now would you recommend taking the battery off so puffy if so how do it do so.
Wow, a strange blessing in disguise, ya? Use the same procedure as outlined in my video. Be very careful removing the battery. Let me know how things turn out, bud 🍀
what temp heat gun? my lil hobby one does about 350F degrees.
My guess is that yours will be plenty-hot. Remember to use gradual heat. Good luck, my friend 😇
This process needs liberal amounts of patients. I substituted alcohol to help loosen the glue. A little too much, it seems, because now I need to replace the LCD/digitizer and speakers because of streaks on the display and garbled sound. It does help but put it only on the tool, not on the glue.
Patience IS key. Sad to hear about your failed alcohol experiment--I'll make a mental note of that.
Thank you for dropping me the comment, bud.
It looks easy but I’ll have a pro do it for me 😁
Where do I find the genuine iPad battery
Thank you very much, just had my old mini battery changed, but my air is on 73% battery according to iMazing, how much do you think if done by reputable shop should it cost to replace.
There's a wide range, Tim. At Apple, it is about $120, but there are local places that vary between $40-80.
so in your opinion better to get the original apple battery? i have seen online for 30, 50,70,150 my air 2 also battery dead it just keeps going to apple logo and dies wont boot up
The $15 generic eBay batteries work pretty well (especially compared to a dying apple battery), but I have never gotten the performance out of a generic battery that touches the capability of a genuine apple product.
Personally, I put a $40 value on the genuine apple batteries for our family's devices.
If I cannot find them at that price-point, we go the generic route and it works out quite well.
Lol, does that answer your question?
Worked like a charm for me.Thank you for showing the easy way to replace the battery
Great video n great close ups. Watched this other guy and he disassembled the whole damn thing lol camera and all I'm like wtf, I know you don't have to remove all those parts and since I'm an electronics tech I know with those micro connectors you don't wanna mess with em unless you gotta cuz the more you do, the better chance you gonna FU** em up
Thank you for stopping by my channel and offering a couple kind words, michael 😄
Does battery replacement also stop apps from crashing? Every time I use the internet, it crashes after very long use which happens after a few months
I do not expect a battery change to prevent your apps from crashing.
