  • **Update: After just under 1000 miles these ECS Tuning Poly Trans Mounts have failed. One of them developed lateral cracks around 180 degrees of the mount. I have replaced them with a set from 034 Motorsports. To view a pic of the failed mount click on my community tab and you’ll see my post. **
Here is a relatively easy install of some Polyurethane Transmission Mounts on my 2012 BMW 335is with the DCT. These mounts will eliminate most of the slop in between hard shifts that result from the soft OEM bushings used by BMW.

I literally just installed the ecs tuning 80a trans bushing on my 13’ 335IS along with turnermotorsport 80a motor mounts as well, happy to finally see someone post a video about them lol.

@@midwestbmw1292 i did the transmission mounts first before the motor mounts and the NVH was too much even for me ( I prefer a more raw driving experience) I even considered removing them, after installing the motor mounts (also 80A) it calmed down the NVH but it’s definitely still there but I’ve gotten used to it to the point that I love the feeling and feel weird when I drive other cars. For someone who is sensitive I’d highly recommend 60a rubber mounts if you don’t mind NVH I’d say get 70A. Me personally I came from a car with solid aluminum mounts so it’s okay with me but I definitely wouldn’t go any higher than 80A for a daily and definitely don’t recommend if you only plan on doing the transmission mounts alone.

@@edwardrodgers281 thanks for the awesome breakdown! I’m trying to find the balance with NVH and I figured if they were too much I’d simply remove them, like you mentioned. I’m not sure I’ll even upgrade the engine mounts or not since the “IS” comes with slightly stiffer mounts over regular 335i.

@@midwestbmw1292 yeah i agree with you plus I heard poly engine mounts get melted by the heat from the down pipe. I ended up wrapping my downpipes, using heat reflective tape and a heat sleeve to protect my passenger side mount, a lot of extra unnecessary work lol, might not be a bad idea to keep stock IS mounts since they are hard to come by and they won’t melt. I kept mine Incase my passenger mount melts.

@@edwardrodgers281 I have some RB GF Turbos coming any day now and I’m going to wrap the manifolds. I’m going with the VRSF cerakoted downpipes and hope they keep heat down at least on par with wrap.

Man I can’t wait to tell you. The car is still torn apart while I wait to get the Wavetrac installed. I probably won’t have it on the road for at least a couple months. Everything I’ve been told by people who have them is that it’s very minimal if even noticeable at all.

@@midwestbmw1292 Sounds good! I'm about to do the same and I was thinking about the e46 m3 ones instead but if these are not as bad and stiffer I'd rather get the ecs. I'll wait for your review though. Great video 👍

The NVH is insane. The trans whines like crazy and you can hear all the clunks etc that the trans makes

@@BimmerM5e39 depends on where, the subframe on mine has 90A and its fine. The dif(90A)whines under decceleration and its barely noticeable. The trans mounts(70A) were absolutely awful, i couldnt listen to music or anything because the tranny whine was outrageous. I went back to new stock mounts and theyre fine. I might upgrade in the future to slightly stiffer mounts when i get a daily.
