  • I finally wrapped up the fuel system and B58 coil install on the 335is, along with taking care of some maintenance items that have been lingering on the build. The mods covered on the video are BMS port injection, LPFP, flex fuel line and Nexsys B58 coil conversion. I’m currently running the base map from Wedge Performance and hope to have the first revision soon!

      Motiv Reflex+ is wired into the DME and therefore accessible over CAN Bus via OB2 port. It work’s separately but in conjunction with MHD app. The Tuner you choose will need to support Motiv and write in PI control file into the tune. Essentially the injector map the Tuner puts in place on ReFlex+ will work alongside the tune file uploaded through MHD. Hope that makes sense.

    Dope video that will definitely help with my instal. I’m putting a list of all the parts I need to go PI using the MR+(motive reflex plus) for my N54 but there is just one thing I don’t understand. I’m aware that MR+ has a feature that allows it to smartly manage the secondary LPFP but I’m not sure how it sends the signal to it.
    I currently have my secondary LPFP running of a 10bar boost pressure sensor but I’d like to fully take advantage of the MR+ features.
    So how would one send the power/signal from the MR+ to the secondary pump and is there maybe a link to the parts I would need?

    • @midwestbmw1292
      @midwestbmw1292  Рік тому +1

      I should have spent time adding more detail in the video but I was rushed for time when I was installing.
      After you read this comment rewatch the video and it will make more sense.
      When you buy a LPFP set up that has a secondary, typically it is controlled by a Hobbs switch (boost reference) like it sounds like you’re doing. When using the MR+ you have an option to use a rail fuel pressure reference. I have the Motive pressure switch installed in my PI rail and then have it plugged into the MR+. From the MR+ there is a wire to a solid state relay (the one next to my battery at the end of the video). That SSR is then wired to the secondary LPFP.
      What this does is replace the boost reference with a rail pressure reference, which most tuners will unanimously agree is a much, much better reference. In fact it’s one of the key benefits of MR+. So what happens is this: Once rail pressure drops, as the primary runs out of steam up top, the pressure switch kicks off a signal to MR+ which then fires the SSR which kicks in the secondary LPFP. Once rail pressure is regained, it shuts the relay off. Hope this helps.

      There is a flex fuel sensor harness that Motiv sells for ReFlex+. In fact I believe it comes with the unit. It connects into the ethanol sensor and the other end connects to the ReFlex harness. Then the main Reflex harness has a wire that taps into a pin on the DME harness. That pin is what converts the signal from the ethanol sensor into an ethanol reading. Basically it does away with the need to run an ethanol analyzer with your ethanol sensor. It’s really cool stuff. One of many reasons I felt going with ReFlex+ was the best option out there aside from stand alone.
