Hope you enjoyed your summer Christmas. It’s definitely different here as majority of the world is in Winter. Obviously Xmas always is shown as the white Christmas you see on tv, Christmas cards and decorations etc, so it always feels different having a summer Christmas here.
It was really different - especially being so far from family... but, we had a nice time. Got out and saw more of Christchurch and played with our kiddos a bunch. We didn't get out to the beach, but we've got some beach trips planned! :)

Before I think it was about 1978 to 1980 you needed a import license to bring products into New Zealand, so we made so many things here, Christmas lighting has only really become available through the Warehouse initially, so yes it is nothing like what you all are used to.
I don't know if it still exists post earthquake but there used to be in the park in the center of town a breeding Coloney of Tuataras accessible to the public (the last living Dinosaur) your oldest may find this of interest, Please secure her properly in her seat as those boys in blue may take offence.
Yes we are the last stop before Antarctica & it shows by the length of time it took for all your home comforts to arrive, both of the girls should settle down more now that all their familiar toys etc have arrived.
We all wish your whole family a merry festive season, get both the girls to wake up both your parents to tell them they all about the gifts Santa has left them for being so good during this momentous move in their young lives LOL

Hey Kiwi Rod! Thanks for all of the great tips! Yes Christmas is definitely a bit different for us here, but we're enjoying it just the same. And yes, Kara loves to wriggle out of her seat belt in the car seat. We're definitely working on it. She's a three-nager with strong opinions!
