Glad to see the meeting with the swis army knife parrot went well. You should see the damage those beaks do to cars and the shenanigans they get up to is hilarious. But we kiwis love them, quirks and all.
haha! We've heard that they like to chew on cars. If we drive into Kea territory we might have to do so in a rental car!
That kea brings back memories of when I was a child. When I was close to 4, I went to the South Island for the first time. We drove to Milford Sound. Kea’s attacked the rubber on our hire car windows/doors
They really have a taste for rubber it seems! We didn't expect them to just walk right up to us like they did. What a cool experience.
So much fun to check out zoos across the globe. I’m looking forward to seeing this one! And, you didn’t tell us you went to the zoo on Christmas Eve!

The kea will sometime sit on your arm -- very cool but the claws are definitely sharp. Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is also worth a visit.
Woah! They've got some pretty crazy claws but maybe I'll wear a canvas coat next time and see if one will let me hold it. :D We've been to willowbank but need to go back and make a video
Down on Stewart Island you can see Kiwi in daytime sometimes
