Remember hearing this on my car radio on 95YNF in Tampa for the first time. Minor route deviation to find the nearest record store. You’ve been part of my life’s soundtrack ever since. 🤘🎸
Man, it's been a long tme since I've heard this or any other Glen Burtnick song!! I was so happy to find this little gem. I used to follow Glen all over NJ to see his shows, the ones at THE STONE PONY in Asbury Park were always the BEST!
I first saw this song on a Air Force Thunderbird's video VHS tape i had. Went really well with the F-16 doing maneuvers in the sky. As the song ends it transitions into Tina Turner's Paradise is Here. Really good stuff!
I have the vhs tape of the USAF Thunderbirds as well. I already have transfered it to DVD and still enjoy it to this day. The song flows smoothly to the video and and some very good editing as well. Rock on Glenn and the USAF Thunderbirds.
Glen Burtnik is a true New Jersey legend!!!! The man is an extremely talented singer/song writer. In addition to that, I recently discovered that he & I were both in attendance at a Seatrain concert in Central Park, back in the Summer of 1971. Seatrain Rocked, and so does Glen Burtnik. Peace.
I remember my nurse playing the radio for me in the Vanderbilt trauma center an this song was played liked 5 times a day. I was in traction with a broke neck and leg. Pens an screws holding me together an my girlfriend was gone an I was on drugs an dreaming I was following her to heaven.
A former band mate of mine played bass in one of Glen's touring bands opening for the Hooters in '88. I quickly snapped up Glen's album that year. Now if I can only find it... In the meantime, I'd really like a quality mp3 download of this song, but I've yet to find one on any of the official music download sites. Must be some legal junk keeping it from being released.
+Jeff Lysia & Steven giogliok i saw them live in either 1988 or early 1989 i am from The Netherlands but lived and worked as a nanny back than in Jersey ( because of the love for Springsteen his music and other Jersey artists like Glen which i liked a lot) David was his drummer at that time and did produce this album as well. although i met David personally a couple of times i am not sure it is him in the video though. But he was a funny guy and also a beast behind the drums as well. Great memories!
+urszzz David did use to have a gap between his front teeth if i remember correct and or my memory leaves me but i do not think it is David in this video
+steven gioglio in the video it is Jimmy Clark playing th drums i already thought it was not David here. Glen helped me out here with the name and said it was Jimmy....
Glen stopped into the Beach Motel I worked at just out of High School. North Beach Sandy Shores in Corpus. Came in and ordered breakfast after they parked his bus outside the door. Didn't say a word until I asked why the bus? He told me who he was. I had no clue. Wish i had then.
Saludos planeta, hoy es un dia especial porque al fin encntre este super tema despues de muchos anhos. En Lima-Peru la escuche en la radio Doble Nueve, la radio rock en Lima!
Just to clear the air..the drummers name is JIMMY CLARK he hails from Cleveland Ohio..he was in a band called SOUVENIR..that band played the Cleveland and Painesville Agoras a lot...great drummer who also played with DEBBIE HARRY(BLONDIE) and many others..Jimmy toured with Glen but wasnt on the original recording..but i think his drumming was better than the original..some guy that was in david lettermans house band..lol
Saludos desde Paraguay... debería haber una clasificación especial para esta clase de rock, casi acústico, sin usar efectos ni auto-tuning, mucha fuerza (sin llegar a heavy metal) Greetings from Paraguay ... there should be a special classification for this kind of rock, almost acoustic, without using effects or auto-tuning, a lot of strength (without getting to heavy metal)
Before. This tune came out in '87, and he didn't join Styx until, I believe, '89 or '90. Man, he had potential as a solo act here; it frustrates me that radio didn't pick up on this song more!! That said, being able to land a gig with Styx is no small feat, so I'd say he was ultimately a success!

Remember hearing this on my car radio on 95YNF in Tampa for the first time. Minor route deviation to find the nearest record store. You’ve been part of my life’s soundtrack ever since. 🤘🎸
Still as amazing as the first time I saw the video on MTV in 1987 and made me a life-long ran.

He puts on a great show
We were at the Stone Pony to see him on Sundays with Cats on a Smooth Surface. Those were the days.
This song should be "the bigger hits"...
What a freaking fantastic song!
why is this song not on any DSPs? I had this on cassette!!! LOVE THIS!!!
Glen Burtnik : One of the GREATEST Rockers to come out of Jersey!!! Love the boots!
Very overlooked record. Terrific songwriter. The hair is a crack-up though. Also, love the last song on this album "Day That Your Ship Gets Through".
Never heard this song before. I like it 👍

Still thrilling after all these years.
Didn't realize where he was from but we dig him down here in Tennessee!!!!!
Found the opening lyrics to this on one of my folders from high school and now have rediscovered this awesome song! Loved him in Styx also.
Hello Pamela how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
Woo hoo! My band covered this in the late 80's, and I sang it (not nearly as well as Mr. Burtnick, of course).
We covered it also, 3 piece!
great song gets your feet moving to the beat.
80s rock. Smirk. So much fun
You are the greatest glen
I love you so much
You are the best 👍 ✌ 💝 💘 💗 💟 💕 💖 💓 💜
back to 80s
Woauw, this song makes me happy 😊❤
I remember my nurse playing the radio for me in the Vanderbilt trauma center an this song was played liked 5 times a day. I was in traction with a broke neck and leg. Pens an screws holding me together an my girlfriend was gone an I was on drugs an dreaming I was following her to heaven.
Great! Just great! Thumbs up to all those who listen to such stuff in 2023!

Glen
Adolescence is short, maturity infinite.
it's better now!
Fantastic song!
It's that good that I keep coming back to watch it

This song very good
A Cover band in the late 80s from tricities Washington called trespasser would do this song. Dug it then, dig it now.
very nice
GWTS THE BLOOD PUMPIN!!!
I loved this line up. They killed it the nights I saw them. Don't remember the drummers name, but he was a monster and funny as hell.
I think his drummer was Dave Prater
+Jeff Lysia & Steven giogliok i saw them live in either 1988 or early 1989 i am from The Netherlands but lived and worked as a nanny back than in Jersey ( because of the love for Springsteen his music and other Jersey artists like Glen which i liked a lot) David was his drummer at that time and did produce this album as well. although i met David personally a couple of times i am not sure it is him in the video though. +steven gioglio in the video it is Jimmy Clark playing th drums i already thought it was not David here. Glen helped me out here with the name and said it was Jimmy....
The person playing the drums in this video is Tommy Huber. Trust me, he's my dad.
Glen is awesome. He was Paul in the original cast of Beatlemania on Broadway.

Greetings from Paraguay ... there should be a special classification for this kind of rock, almost acoustic, without using effects or auto-tuning, a lot of strength (without getting to heavy metal)
tocas algun instrumento?
I am thinking firehouse is the next song.
Was this before or after STYX ?
He is a mix of bon jovi and Brian addams
WAS A GREAT SONG BUT SURE SOUND LIKE ""WHITE LION""~~~
A mi también siempre me pareció la voz similar a White Lion en "Little Fighter"
@@GUIGOU2013 You mean Little Fighter sounds like Follow You, this came out in 87!
You mean White Lion sounds like him.. This predates it!
Sounds like Mike Tramp
