I think that the numbers might be all over the place because maybe since there is a 96 pack they have all the colors in number order in that one and pick out certain ones to put in the smaller packs and instead of wasting more money on printing new numbers for the smaller packs they just leave them with the numbers from the 96 pack but that’s just a though and I don’t know because I personally don’t have them
***** I jsut don't think I'd be very good with brushmarkers, i have a shaky hand in the most of inconvenient situations, and i'm not the best with brushes either way :/ Maybe one day I'll try and not fail miserably XD
Baylee, you literally saved me over $100. I've been saving up for copics and I saw this video and ordered this markers. I've used copics before and can agree with you that these are really great markers. I like them more than copics!
What are you gonna do when one marker runs out of ink? Buy the entire set again? As she said, copics are very economical when you take refills into consideration
because you're cheap and biased ofcourse. Psychologically speaking, whichever product you buy will seem more appealing but in the end copics are more desirable.
I was literally thinking she should do a technique video on using just Chisel / bullet tip copics/ markers. And then I scrolled down and saw this! lmao. I have mostly chisel / bullet tips at the moment because I got 144 of the " classic" ( chisel/bullet tip) copics for a HUGE deal. I would love to see a " techniques " video on them! ( If she hasn't done one already)
I bought the 96 set blick studio brush markers Along with the E000 pale fruit pink copic and E00 cotton pearl for some lighter skin tones. Along with the copics it really makes a solid complete set of markers.
I bought the Ohuhu 40 set, I think, on Amazon for $21.99US when I got them. They don't have a brush tip, but they are a very good alternative to Copics. The reviews are very good and I tested them compared to the 3 Copics I do own, and the colors are similar and vibrant. I do not believe they are refillable, or have replacement nibs, so that is a downside. But, again, they are a very affordable alternative to Copics.
Danimations it’s because you got the 40 set the 48 set has the brush nibs I order them yesterday from amazon and it’s showed a brush nib and it’s said brush nib in description so that was the only thing wrong 🙂
I've had the whole set of these markers for a few years now, and they're great. They were my first "professional" art tools. They don't have many colors, but it was enough for me. The blending is pretty good too, and the streaking is minimal. After using a few Copics I realized they were a lot better and way easier to blend, with more flexible brush tips. Still, Blicks have a special place in my heart, and I was really glad to finally be able to do more with my art :).
dude theyre having a sale on these markers rn a 12 set for TEN FREAKING DOLLARS and a 24 set for fifteen like bro i need to buy these right now XD actually i just checked agin: they are different markers than these ones but they are still blick studio markers with a brush tip and chisel tip, the only difference i see is that these are circular sooo good enough XD
Mille Dahl-Folden yep!! I do that all the time because I'm not 100% sure what marker brand I like the best yet. But I mix copics with prismas and they work fine, so copic and blick should also be fine too
When Baylee says octagon she means octagon not hexagon 😂😂JAZZA!!!😂😂(if you don't understand my reference go watch Draw with Jazzas second video on 3D pen)
get a job and pay for your own 5$ markers? "I'm too young for a job", then you don't need 5$ markers. Pro tip, get prisma color pencils, one colorless blender. Use the water color pencils, then go over them with the blender. BOOM! instant blending. The tip will get discolored, but rub it on some paper and all will be fine.
Studio 71 brush markers are what I use I got them for Christmas and they are almost exactly like the Blick ones. Don't be afraid to get artist quality marker because you are young. I love mine. These ppl are rude.
Er, sorry to interfere, but someone is young doesn't mean they don't need expensive markers? Like, technically, no one needs expensive markers. It's not a need. However, young people still can make good art. They may be living in a place where people under 18 are not allowed to work, or don't get paid even near the price an adult working at the same job would get. Or simply, their parents may not be allowing them to work outside of house. Protective parents exsist. No matter what, one could find a way to work at most situations. If you can't work outside of your house, you can work from home. Or do small tasks for your parents in return to get markers. These still, however, doesn't mean someone asking their parents to buy them markers is doing anything wrong.
Make sure you check for coupons!! There's almost always a 20% coupon on retail me not. That's how I afforded my full set. It went from $200 to $120 with the coupon I had!
I'm so glad that my favorite artist uses the markers I use! Also, I have a question, what paper did you use for the pieces you did in this video? My Blicks never blend as well as yours did, i'm wondering if it might be the paper?
Actually I saw a video with a Copic employee and she explained the number system as follows...the letter does represent the color, then the first number is how much grey is in it, and the second number is the saturation.
I heard your cat meowing in the background and I thought it was my cat. I got worried because I could tell the difference from how he usually sounds and I thought he was upset. He's just sun bathing and napping! lol
2:02 *you said it only has an indent to show you the chisel tip but if you look closely there is a picture of a chisel tip and a picture of a brush tip on either side representing what it is. I hoped this helped make it easier.* 😊 you're the best!!
I just got the 48 set, and they are really nice! Some of my markers felt a bit dry, but I'm pretty sure it is because all of the ink dripped to the chisel end. I have noticed that shading is a dream because (even though you should use more colors) you only need to use 2 colors and it looks like you used 3
Yayyy been trying to save for copics for my husband... but I think I'll get these instead. I agree the copics would be nicer because it refills, but ugh tight budget and he needs makers. that struggleeee
Well, these do refill actually- They just don't have official refills for Blick. (Technically you should be able to refill a couple brands with copic refills actually, if they're alcohol based) You can purchase copic refills for these, you just have to be accurate.
another great copic dupe is definitely Ohuhu markers on amazon. they arent brush tipped but they arent streaky at all and it provides so much ink. plus i got 80 of the markers for $44.99! so i highly recommend them for cheap/low price artists :)
People keep talking about Master Markers, but I'm sorta skeptical about them. I mean, I think only one guy on UA-cam reviewed them, so I'd like to hear more reviews of them before I make the decision to get the markers. So, what does everybody think about Master Markers?
Disco Dog I have Master Markers and they are fairly more than decent. They have a brush nib, but not as bendable as Copics (shocker, I know). They are great markers, I have the skin tones set, and the ink quality is good for lighter tones, but when you try to color with darker tones, it is extremely patchy. If you are new to markers, then I say, get em'! But if you are a looking for excellent markers, maybe not. Check out DrawingWiffWaffles review! I like them, I still use them, and the primary, skin, landscape, etc. come in really good packaging! The caps, however, do not match.
This girl, the reason why I like her opinions so much is because she is open-minded and she gives chances to other non-Copic brand, unlike other youtubers..
The thing about the Copics I did like was the brush tip it is so much easier to use. It made coloring more enjoyable easier faster. All so to color one large picture was done in fast and easy.
I know this video is over a year old but hopefully someone comes across this and it's helpful! The Blick Studio Brush Markers have refills now! They come in all 96 colors and they're only $4 a piece and they have 7-9 refills! That makes these a total game changer to me, I have all of them and I've resisted using them because I want them to last, but now that they are refillable, it makes them WAYYYY more worth while! I hope someone sees this because that is a complete game changer for me, I love these markers, they behave so closely to copics, and Blick always has coupons or discounts of some kind both online and in store
These markers are so nice. I'm a beginner and just switching to these resulted in a much better piece. In the price range I think these are 100% the way to go. The brush is super nice
There are also the ohuhu markers that are even cheaper. You can get a 80 pack for the price of a 24 set of blick studio markers. But they do not have the brush tip (I was sad too) buuut it's good for beginners and it has the bullet nib and the chisel nib. Mine are coming in the mail rn because I'm a beginner but this is just for the people who might want them. The 40 pack is $24. These are also available on Amazon and Amazon prime :)
@Dvlish pressing down hard is gonna make shading harder because the color is gonna come out more extreme and you want them to both taper down as much as you can so they blend evenly
You can buy them for this price online. Sometimes some local art stores run "everything 40% off" or "buy 1, get 1 free" promotions, so you can get copics for decent price. If you look into buying online, I would totally recommend checking oozak.com and jerrysartarama.com. When you register on oozak.com and log in, you will see even lower price on copic sketch than when you checkout as a guest ($4.99 vs $5.24), and they don't charge tax as far as I know. Jerrysartarama offer copic sketch for $5.24. But when you place your first order with jerrysaratrama, you get 25% off your first purchase (you need to apply the code). Normally copics are already considered "on sale" if they sold for $5.24, but this 25% off applies even to discounted items. Hope this info helps.
The same thing is done in cosmetics. Beauty bloggers make videos called “so-and-so dupes” when they review cheaper alternatives to expensive, high-end makeup.
I know, Copic has that too, but the stripe is much more noticeable and can be seen from all sides. I don't look closely at the markers as I grab them and rely a lot of peripheral vision to save time.
I don't know if it has been said in the comments before, but for those of you who are wondering what are the prices in Canadian Dollar, a single marker is 4.52$, compared to Brushmarkers who are 4.99$. Bundle-wise, the set of twelve is 35.69$, compared to Brushmarkers who are 54.99$. Seriously they seem like a great investment for 96 markers! Thanks Baylee for making me discover these markers, they seem awesome!
Did you notice a really intense smell with these markers? I have a small amount of copics and my blick set smells so bad in comparison. Maybe its just me?
When you started to talk about the numbering system idk.. I just started cracking up, and it’s 3:05 am where I am 🤣. Why do almost all markers have this issue thought?! 😂
Help! I've got a question: I saw a video of baylee where she was comparing different marker paper and i decided to get the hammermill color copy digital. I haven't bought them yet because i was wondering if it's easy to trace my sketches with it? I've got a lighttable but i don't know if the paper is too thick. One more thing: I found it on amazon and because i'm not from america/canada, i don't know what the difference between the style "letter" and the other style for example "12x18" is... I've ordered a set of blick markers but i'm still looking for the paper... I need help, pleaase ×///×
Recytix "Letter" size is just another name for paper that is 8.5 inches by 11 inches. I don't know the answer to the other part of your question, sorry. On the Amazon page for the paper you are looking at, maybe there is an option to post this question? I hope this helped.
Thank You so much for this video, I've been slowly trying to build a set of copics .. ( very slooooowly, lol ) I think I have about 15 & the skin tone set ( although it seems via videos that the skin tone set isn't the most commonly used #s for skin) but I know one day I will have a full set of copics 😊🙏🏻. Until then, these Blick markers are more within reach & you seemed pretty happy w/the quality of them, which given your experience with copics I'd say that's quite a compliment to the Blicks. Thanks again for the info & a huge THANKS for the coloring pages on your website 😊 that's Greatly appreciated!!
hmm.. Something to keep in mind , But I think I reccomend ohuhu markers. beccause 40$ for 80. 20 for 40. If you were to calculate , thats 00.50$ per marker!
Blick Studio Vs Twin touch markers (Cost wise) I'm not a math genius but I did some math to show you which would be cheaper over the years. So this only counts for people who are doing it long term. I'm also doing this with the amount of 12 markers since that's what I'm getting from touch ( 7 colors for the rainbow, 3 skin tones, 1 colorless blender, and a cool grey. So I'm gonna guess that if you use the blick markers daily or very frequently you might have to replaced them 2 times a year (every 6 months) max. A 12 pack costs about 27 dollars. So 1 year= 54 dollars and 2 years= 108. I'm going to stop there. I'm gonna guess the same logic for touch twin. But I'm gonna add the logic that you bought the refills which are almost the exact price as the markers it self. So a total of 224 dollars for 12 markers and refills. And she estimated in another vid that they can be refilled ten times so if it's refilled 2 times a year also. It would make it up to 5 years= 224 dollars. With the blick markers made into 5 years it would be 108+108+54= 270 dollars. An extra 46 dollars. So personally I will still go with the twin touch markers because i am going to use them over the years. But again remember that the touch twin price and copic price are very close (touch less) and the copic chao is even less so I might just as well get copic but I'm a cheap scape (can't spell) so I will save a few dollars/ cents The end I hoped I helped you guys!!
I started using Blick Studio Markers (the ones with the dual bullet & chisel tip) as a replacement for Prismacolor markers back a few years ago. My only criticism with Blick is that they are a little more bleedy than Prisma, but otherwise blend rather well.. just a matter of being more careful, though for smaller fine details, it is best to switch to a brand that does not bleed as much. There is another good alternative to Copic called MEPXY, sadly no longer carried by Blick's, but you can find them on Amazon.
Ahh, I see in your thumbnail for Copic alternatives that you have tried mepxy! I'm glad to see there is such a strong marker community on the web, I have been in the dark!
I recently bought some blick studio markers after watching this review! I am not disappointed! I've never drawn with markers but it was super pleasant! Thanks!
Copic marker tip: If you want a gradient, use the colorless blender to "wet" the area you're coloring first, then marker it, it'll bleed into the area more evenly. Thanks for the review, I might give these a try. How do the colors match up? Are they the same so I can use them interchangeably?
UPDATE: Refills for these markers are now available!! :D
me too
its a miracle im definitely buying them now

great job me!
Here’s one more thing-
when I started using these markers, the brush nib kind didn’t exist, yet they were STILL wonderful.
When my dad says black he says it blick
Like “do u want some blickcurrent”
Ooooh!! as someone who is just starting with their art and not yet bought any markers this is a definite buy for me. thank you!!!!
Cttn fsh I get my 60 pack today they were $24.99 for 60 $21.99 for 40
Cttn fsh thx so much now I know which ones to buy!!👍🏻😁
Also the chisel nib is rather good,
Now they're working on a brush tip
@Dvlish pressing down hard is gonna make shading harder because the color is gonna come out more extreme and you want them to both taper down as much as you can so they blend evenly
you should color the same drawing, but one with copics and one with blick studios
Starts the drawing at 6:25 xx

These are THE BEST! I have wanted her to review these FOREVER!!!
You should try ohuhu markers!
Baboobraz please do because im getting them and I want to know how close they are to copics
Moon Likes Milk I've had problems blending
When she finished colouring the mice I realised that this was from Cinderella
Have you tried Ohuhu markers? I found them on amazon and they're pretty cheap but I'm not sure they'd compare to copics but you should check them out.
who else likes to go through the commitments and watch the video at the same time?
The sound she made at 1:32 us great omg I LOVE IT
Have you tried Ohuhu markers on amazon? They have a set of 80 for $40 and a set of 40 for $20. They don't have brush nibs though
Hey baylee! How about you review Touchnew Sketch markers? They’re actually pretty good and I use them myself! Love your vids!
At 2:42 I'm left hand so yeah I know the struggle. Poor left- hand people.
You are the queen of bookmarkers
I have the full set and I honestly love them! Wish they were some more pastel/lighter shades but I also need more practice with them! Great video!
BAYLEE CAN YOU REVIEW OHUHU MARKERS PLZ???????
Where do u get ur copics for 5$? They're 8$ in the US
Hannah Ericson the cheaper prices are normally online. If you get them from dickblick.com they're around 5$
Hannah Ericson they aren't 8 in the US online
Hannah Ericson and
holy shit I have like 10 copics
80 bucks down the drain
I honestly thought that Pon Pon Pon was about to start playing when I heard the first sound of the vid
I love the Studio ones with the nibs. The Brush tips are nice. I like the way these markers come out.
Oh, getting so close to 1M, bayls! Congrats if I miss it!!
I hate it when she calls other brands of alcohol based markers "copic dupes". It's not like we call other brands of colored pencils prismacolor dupes.
Hai:3 3: because people wants to find alternatives for the copic markers for cheaper so it makes sense why she call them Copic marker dupes
The same thing is done in cosmetics. Beauty bloggers make videos called “so-and-so dupes” when they review cheaper alternatives to expensive, high-end makeup.
She calls it that because they are SO similar to Copics.
They are copic dupes copics are the original alcohol based marker so others are more or less copies don’t get mad for using the right term stupid
The packaging is so similar it's undeniable really. So I don't get the problem.
Lol Baylee. There is a printed chisel and brush tip for each side ;)
I know, Copic has that too, but the stripe is much more noticeable and can be seen from all sides. I don't look closely at the markers as I grab them and rely a lot of peripheral vision to save time.
Baylee Jae Ok
Abbi Clark - Fun Games and More! It's almost like with a USB cable. You always plug it in wrong.
Why don't you have 1,000,000 subs yet?! 😭
OH my god that hair is GORGEOUS
I don't know if it has been said in the comments before, but for those of you who are wondering what are the prices in Canadian Dollar, a single marker is 4.52$, compared to Brushmarkers who are 4.99$. Bundle-wise, the set of twelve is 35.69$, compared to Brushmarkers who are 54.99$. Seriously they seem like a great investment for 96 markers! Thanks Baylee for making me discover these markers, they seem awesome!
There was periwinkle.... Blick was team periwinkle confirmed
I just added the 48 count to my cart and it $99 with free shipping.😊😍
Did you notice a really intense smell with these markers? I have a small amount of copics and my blick set smells so bad in comparison. Maybe its just me?
+Crystalsky I never noticed.
The copic smell is definitely less abrasive. I love both types but I can say I do try to keep the fan on when I use the blick markers.
Crystalsky enough of my braincells are dead from the alcohol that i dont even notice anymore. i kinda enjoy the smell tbh
On a review of these I remember someone said to make sure to use them in a well ventilated room. I don't think it helps though lol!
OurHeartsDesires Maybe watercolor paper?
They have these at my art class at school and they are by far the most popular art supplies in my art class
When you started to talk about the numbering system idk.. I just started cracking up, and it’s 3:05 am where I am 🤣. Why do almost all markers have this issue thought?! 😂
PLEASE REVEIW THE OHUHU MARKERS ON AMAZON!!!! i want your reveiw on them befor i buy them
Can you try tombow markers
rakvin ban thats a water based calligraphy marker.
I hope this helped.
sharon carder Thank you very much! 🙏
0:14 I remember getting these blick markers before :) my dad got me those Blick markers as my late Birthday present in October 2016.
hmm.. Something to keep in mind , But I think I reccomend ohuhu markers. beccause 40$ for 80. 20 for 40. If you were to calculate , thats 00.50$ per marker!

Blick Studio Vs Twin touch markers
(Cost wise)
I'm not a math genius but I did some math to show you which would be cheaper over the years.
But again remember that the touch twin price and copic price are very close (touch less) and the copic chao is even less so I might just as well get copic but I'm a cheap scape (can't spell) so I will save a few dollars/ cents
The end I hoped I helped you guys!!
thanks!
Now of course the Blick ones have refills too though so that’s got to be a factor now
I'm a lefty and if you hold the brush end you can see the words! People are finally thinking about lefties. Left Handed People rule!
I'm glad to see there is such a strong marker community on the web, I have been in the dark!
the "nyeh" when you opened the cap is my aesthetic
Can you review ohuhu marker you can get them on Amazon
Im left handed & i can relate with the text being upside down ;o;
can u do a ohuhu marker review
It’s so cute and sweet that you have free coloring pages omg
I recently bought some blick studio markers after watching this review! I am not disappointed! I've never drawn with markers but it was super pleasant! Thanks!
The number system is in alphabetical order
Hell no 044 Apple green? Is After True blue?
i may seem weird but I use the chisel nib 😂
masonxox WHAaaaaaat?!
that one guy....
I use it when Im just like doodling and dont want to waste the ink in the brush nib or filling in a big area
I mean it’s there for a reason lmao I use it a lot too
Imagine they just took copic ink refills and put them in a barrel and sold it!!!!!??!?!
Copic marker tip: If you want a gradient, use the colorless blender to "wet" the area you're coloring first, then marker it, it'll bleed into the area more evenly. Thanks for the review, I might give these a try. How do the colors match up? Are they the same so I can use them interchangeably?
Wow, those blick markers look even nicer than the ones I bought in middle school, which are a great Prismacolor dupe.
I've been paying $8.99 for my Copics hahaha
Leftie power!!!!
