PS: The color scheme for the little portrait you did at the end made me think of that race out of Guardian of the Galaxy with the cotton candy PINK skin. I like it.
The fact that they sell refills has made me make up my mind, I'm definitely going to invest in these markers. They're an incredibly good deal for what they are, and I tend to purchase my own packaging and storage units for supplies anyway.
I really don’t like microns because I’ve noticed when you try to line over watercolor (which is my main medium) they kind of get weird and stop working.
Bamboo Milkshake Ya, I've had sort of the same issue. Where I would be trying to do some touch ups of ink over a slight area of color pencil, and it would act weird and the ink wouldn't really budge until a few shakes of the pen. I might consider using a cheaper and more efficient inking brand in the future but as of now Pigma is my main source of inking supply.
I got microns because they're cheap in my country, and yeah, they stop working or bleed when used with watercolour. I think they're really intended for markers because despite the advertising saying otherwise, they're far from waterproof.
I have heard such great things about the Art-N-Fly markers. I would really love to try these out for myself sometime and compare them to my Copics and Blick Studio Markers.
I'm so glad to see Art n Fly expanded their line. I bought their first set of 20 sketch markers when they first came out and I love them. They really are great for everyone at any level.
I appreciate that you actually use product for a while before you do a review. So many people post "reviews," but they're really more like first impressions. This was helpful, thank you!
Marley _The_Martian_Bean it's actually seh-pee-ah! i'm italian and the word "sepia" is the latinized version of an ancient greek word, so pretty similar from the fonetic point of view. plus, we have a really similar word, which is seppia (and it means squid hahah)! hope this was helpful
beathebabu oh thanks! I’ve just always pronounced it see-pee-uh because that’s how my brain reads it and I looked it up on one website and it said that was how it was pronounced next time I’ll look in more than one place
beathebabu Also, for the record, sepia IS pronounced SEE-PEE-UH. Every dictionary on the net says so. English incorporates words from other languages, but pronunciations change and evolve depending on how certain cultures adapt the words. If you look the word sepia up in any dictionary, you will find that it is derived from the Latin word, but when the Greeks adapted the term, they clearly marked the E in sepia with a long dash above it, denoting that it is to be pronounced as EE and not EH. The Greek adaptation of sepia is the pronunciation we use today. You did some research, just not enough. You got the timelines between Latin and Greek mixed up--the Latin term is the original, the Greek term was adapted FROM Latin later, not the other way around.
Hey, could you review the Bianyo markers? I just got them and would like to know your opinion on them, because I got them as a cheap alternative to copics! You can get the 75 set for 40 dollars and it comes with a tiny cute travel case! Thanks for reading, love your videos!
Yayayay another video! All week I’ve been watching your art videos because I am obsessed!!! I love your art so much! ❤️❤️ And I love how I can just wake up to a video!
I just have to say this (Not in a creepy way) but her voice is so so nice I could just listen to it all day i love her so much! You're great you're doing an amazing job like this is my dream job! YOU GO GIRL!!
They're pretty streaky though, aren't they? Looks great for the dress you made in the final drawing, but it shows so obviously in the background heart..
Omg I was just looking for a cheap brush tip marker review...I love your videos...I feel like other reviews aren’t as good as your reviews...thank you for posting❤️❤️❤️❤️🧡🧡🧡
I got the skin tone set which currently has 12 colors, and I LOVE them! They are great quality, they don’t streak, the colors are very nice and work well on all my papers ( btw if you’re wondering, I use the cans on mixed media sketchbook and some random card stock if you’re wondering) 10/10, highly recommend!
I love the Art-N-Fly markers, given their price the fact they can be refilled is excellent they have so much going for them including their inexpensive price line. Excellent review.
I don't know of anybody else has asked this, but do you have any tips on shading with gray scale? Also, heres a question about digital art, how do you make your lineart less boring, and how do develop your own coloring style?
if you shade with greyscale i recommend using pastel or light colors. if you wanna use more vibrant colors then use more warm shading colors, like a reddish brown. for a color styles, experiment to see what you like! i like darker colors with pastels, because i think they are complimentary. and for line art, try using a colored background and white lines, or try using a black outside line and some lighter inner lines. hope this helps!
Late reply, but having a graphic tablet with pressure sensitivity really helps with dynamic lineart. You can use a mouse as well, but it's going to be a bit more tedious (and the method will most likely depend on the software you use.)
I hadn't seen this marker until tonight when I randomly chose channels to seek out marker reviews. After I came across another channel, your review popped up and I got to see it with a DIY drawing/coloring session. Also, I tend to keep the art supply packaging if it's sturdy material or pretty. As always, thanks for your hard work! 🤗❤️👍🏽💯
Love this video, I always love your review videos! also, i hope you feel better soon! I know you've been having some stuff going on recently so i just want you to know: we love you and believe in you!! you rock, waffles!! 💖
I’m so buying these!! I checked on Amazon and wow, I can’t believe they’re such a reasonable price AND they sell refills! Thank you for the review Waffles, I saw your instagram post and I wanted to let you know that everything is going to be alright, they’re going to find out what’s wrong and you’re going to get better soon ❤️
*As an adult, I don't care what the shell of a pen or marker looks like. However, I do want the cap to snugly fit on the end. Seems that's still something that industry is still struggling with. Quality,....I only care about quality. I'm hoping that one or two companies will come out with a good quality copy-cat set of markers that gives COPIC a run for it's money.*
These look great. I’ve been trying to get my hands on some good, not very expensive alcohol-based markers... yet all the ones I had found didn’t have a brush tip, only a bullet tip and chisel tip, so that was hard. But these have chisel and brush, yay! And the 48 pack is pretty much the same amount that it costs to buy one-two Copic markers haha.
Wow! Thanks for making this review! I honestly can’t decide which is better, the brush pens or the brush markers but you gave me an idea of what I will buy. Thanks!
Drawing wiff waffles how do I make my art better.I started making sketch books, but it’s not working!everything I draw is terrible and I keep trying over and over again but I’m just wasting paper.I can’t do this, my parents don’t understand they say just draw more it doesn’t matter, but it’s a lot harder for me. Thank you for reading this, hope I get a answer.
Try drawing things you like! Take short brakes and take a step away from your paper. If art is something that interests you, go ahead! Practice practice practice. Don’t mind anything anyone else says because you can do what you like! Always have a positive mindset. I really hope this helped. :)
Your parents are right, you have to just keep trying until you get it right. Using references and watching videos/reading about art theory is a good way to start as far as fundamental concepts are concerned. Keep trying, never give up!
I had the same problem as you when I started doing art. Try using reference for body anatomy which is really important if you want to make the bodies and posture look good. I you have an idea of something you want to draw, sketch it first, the sketch doesn't have to be perfect because it's a sketch. My last advice, and the most important one, I know you won't really like it but it something which really helps improvement in anything you will do, and that is practice. You can't get as good as the level of professional if you don't practice. You will see that if you follow these steps, you'll see an improvement.
You should watch tutorials on UA-cam and actually do them. You can also take some art you like and trace it just to get a feel of the style. But if you trace never claim it as your own, it's just for practice. Try different styles and supplies and I promise you will get better, just be patient.
This is also my concern. If I'm gonna lay out the cash for a big set of markers, that has to be a consideration. I can't afford to keep buying stuff that isn't ideal. I'd rather have no markers than markers that frustrate me. Personally I'm leaning toward the blick line of alcohol based brush markers. I can buy only the colors I'll use, which is a huge plus, and the reviews I've seen rate them almost as high as copic. These are a great price, but I get annoyed that if you want all the colors you have to buy a full set or get dupes when you buy multiple sets. Grrrr.
I thought the same, they looked pretty awful especially compared to copics' smoothness. Might be okay for sketches but they look like a pain to work with.
I've been scouring the internet for reviews... and I really liked yours. I love brush lettering... and I don't normally need color fine points anything, but oh my goodness... the brush pen plus chisel? That is a Lettering person's dream! Thanks! :)

Hi, my name is Amma, and I love to color. I called myself a color artist, and so for me, markers and colored pencils are essential. I have a coloring tool kit full of markers and color pencils which are organized by brand, type, and color. I even have test paper ranging from copy paper to card stock, which you should try because I have learned that depending on the paper colors may look different. If you are looking for something to hold your markers, I would suggest a big flexible make bag like mine which holds five big bundles of thin makers, four big sets of fat sharpies, and the biggest set of color pencils which I been collecting since I was 5. Just want to say that and love your channel.
Omfg the baby was doing finger guns XD Also GREAT REVIEW! I love how many things you covered and how honest you were about it, testing them out in so many ways. Keep up the good work!

Very helpful as I am looking for new pens all the time. And sepia is pronounced SEE-PEE-UH (I looked it up) hoped that helped 😊

1:30 to 1:45 she explains how they don’t bleed through so you could do whatever with them but it really depends on how thick your paper is
Who else wanted the 48 pack of markers, but when you looked at them, they were $90?
Jordan Hernandez it’s probably over the time because this is a video made in 2018 and your comment is from 2019 so the price raised
also you could buy ohuhu marks which are way cheaper and still work good!
I found a pack of 100+ markers and they were only 60$ you should buy it
I ADORE that camera quality.
How do you define a REAL purple?

I’m just saying that I got kinda confused when u said sakura. I know that’s the brand but u said it like sacura, but I pronounce it sa-ku-ra because it’s Japanese.😂
I have a strange addiction called "I can not stop buying art supplies and watching so much art vids from waffles"

Receives skin tone set of markers. Uses pink for skin.
One of the things I truly appreciate about your work is that you draw multicultural faces and lots of skin colors. I like the pink! And your dreads are amazing! Keep rockin it!
Love you I’m a new sub!! #notificationsquad
Yay! Thanks for making a review on these markers!
Her: I just don’t have a use for grey
People who buy only grey tone sets: :o
Yay!!! Waffles waffles waffles!!!
Omfg the baby was doing finger guns XD
Also GREAT REVIEW! I love how many things you covered and how honest you were about it, testing them out in so many ways. Keep up the good work!
