This is the official video. They compiled a bunch of oil videos and concert footage because Freddie was too sick at this point to make a video. This song is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time❤❤. You would never know how close to death Freddie was; his vocals were so amazing We lost a legend❤
like they said. But we didn't care back in the 80's about videos, in fact most bands didnt give a crap until the early 90's. It was about music, not about confetti's like it is today :P
70 year old woman from the south here honey. Like I noticed everybody else has been saying yes this was an official video. This was very shortly before he died. But as much as he loved to sing and everything he wanted to leave something for his fans to be able to enjoy, and NOT to only dwell upon his death. 😢😢😢💔💔💔💔 He wanted his fans to remember he live life to the fullest !!!! And he wanted his fans to also do that too. He was a warm~ beautiful~ loving AND compassionate human being. 💔💔😭😭😭💔💔🌠🌠🌠🌠 R.I.P. you are now in God's Loving arms Freddie Mercury, I have no doubt about that cuz my God looks into the heart and soul of people and judges THAT ONLY. Not the prejudice that a lot of people here on Earth do. God is enjoying your singing up there now !!!! Thank You - THANK YOU for showing this last tribute video that Freddy and Queen did just before he passed. Keep playing your songs and your videos sir cuz you are helping the younger generation see the different styles of music and the different bands and singers of music. God bless you 🙏🙏🙏😘 definitely keep on doing what you're doing all of us music lovers of all different kinds appreciate it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
This IS the official video. Freddie was so sick that he could barely stand but he sang it amazingly. Brian who wrote the song was afraid that Freddie couldn't sing those high notes but Freddie took a couple of vodkas and nailed them in one take. Pure perfection. ❤
There's no official video with Queen because Freddie was literally dying when he sang it. You're hearing the amazing voice of a dying man. RIP A LEGEND.
This song always brings a tear to my eye knowing Freddie was so sick. RIP Dear Freddie you are still loved and missed to this day ❤️ Led Zeppelin please 🙏 Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out ✌️ ☮️ 🙏
This song was released as a single in the United Kingdom on October 14, 1991 in promotion for the Greatest Hits II album, just six weeks before Freddie died on November 24, 1991. The song was first played live on April 20, 1992, during the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert featuring the three remaining members of Queen & Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) playing rhythm guitar.
Freddie was very very sick at the recording, he could barely stand or even to sit, but he summoned up himself and gave one of his most incredible performance. This song is one of my favourites, gave me a "helping hand" when my life was upside down.
Freddie never performed this live. He was too sick to barely stand or sit. Brian was worried he wouldn’t be able to hit the notes, he wrote it for Freddie, perceiving how Freddie must’ve felt and what he saw him going through. But Freddie said “F*** it. I’ll do it.”, gulped down a glass of vodka, and sang it in one take.
Freddie was determined to give us everything he could before he passed away. His enormous voice and talent didn't fail him, even at the end, he just ran out of time. I just wish he had stuck around with us a little longer 👑
This *_IS_* the "official" music video. It was made like this for 2 reasons. First was because Freddie had become too ill to film new footage. Second was to promote the release of Queen's compilation album release "Greatest Hits II"(focusing on the albums *_Hot Space_* , *_The Works_* , *_A Kind Of Magic_* , *_The Miracle_* and *_Innuendo_* ), which is why the video only uses clips of Queen's videos and live performances from 1981 through 1991. And I always loved how heavily featured throughout the video is footage from "Princes Of The Universe"🗡👍
These powerful vocals came from a man who was very ill and didn't have much time to live. This is actually the official video. They are taking us back through their history and honoring Freddie.
The videos for these end of Freddie's life songs are all bits of old videos put together because Freddie was too sick to make videos by this time. He wanted to record but he could barely stand because one of his feet had almost completely rotted away, he was weak and very thin...but he sure could belt it out vocally. This looking back through the years and all that Queen had done is very appropriate for this song. Brian wrote this one knowing that at the heart of it all he was a musician and would always need to be a musician but his life was crumbling as he was losing his friend and bandmate as well as his band, his marriage was falling apart and the future was not looking bright. He was falling into a deep depression knowing that he would no longer be living with his children. But the show must go on. Music to a musician is just part of their DNA, it can never just go away. Brian has a well rounded life but music is always at the center of it.
Any Queen official video is an official video, some are edits like this one since they couldn´t use freddie. never the less, this is The officail video of this song
Great reaction! Your face-Freddie in his pink sweater!🤪 Say I bet you would appreciate ‘I Want It All’! Really great video- Freddie couldn’t make the stage anymore- he sings this like no one Else could!
This is the "OFFICIAL" video. By this point Freddie was too sick to even stand, Brian was worried whether he could reach the high notes and Freddie just downed a shot of Vodka and said "I'll f****** well do it dahling" and hey ho he did, in one take!!! RIP Freddie you LEGEND xxx
Brian and Freddie wrote The Show Must Go On. Brian said he wrote the part about the clown with the smile on his face about Freddie, but never told him .
As others have already said, this was the official video because Freddie was dying and never sang it anywhere else. There is a fan made video that's excellent, in my opinion, and makes it look like Freddie is singing live.
Brian May in an interview mentioned that he approached Freddie to ask him if he would like to record a new song they he had written, at this stage Freddie was very ill,Freddie responded to Brian saying Yes darling he took a large vodka and sang this song in one take, Brian also stated that he thought this was Freddie’s greatest vocal performance, and Freddie was to ill to make a video of the song, great reaction thanks 🙏
It most definitely is an official video! Freddie was so ill when he sang this, if you doubt me, just check out the 'box of flicks' all official Queen video's.
Sorry people are yelling at you. Jeez, Queenies, be NICE! Many of us lived through Freddie's stardom and his health decline. And video from Queen Official, is official. Freddie was able to sing far longer than he could record video. Personally, I'm always super proud when I see people your age get into and have such respect for the music I grew up with. You do a great job! I'm not a rap/hip hop person, honestly I don't listen to much past the 80s, but I have turned my grown kids on to your music. Keep doing what you're doing! ✌💖😀 When your heart is ready for it. You need to watch/listen to No One But You (Only The Good Die Young). It was made after Freddie had passed and is such a beautiful tribute from his bandmates. I get tears in my eyes now just typing this.
As I’m sure others here have stated, this is the official video. It even played on MTV; back when they were playing music videos 24 hrs. a day, just days after Mercury died from AIDS-related pneumonia in November of 1991. You are correct in assuming this was spliced together footage of their earlier music videos and concert footage, because that was all they could do because Mercury was declining in health before his death. To give a good example, check out their video for the song “These Are The Days of Our Lives”. This was the last video Mercury made with Queen just six months before his death.
Brother, don’t take these corrections personally. You’re amazing for trying to learn about this band. It’s epic. You’ll make assumptions as we all do. Please take the corrections kindly
Es el vídeo oficial para esta canción publicado por canal de Queen Oficial, Freddie ya estaba en sus últimas como para siquiera poder grabar nada, hablamos de Octubre de 1991, Freddie falleció al mes siguiente.
PRADA GROWING UP WITH A FAMILY IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS GOT MY PARENTS TICKETS TO A FEW CONCERTS,HE WAS VERY SICK FOR THAT SONG BUT STILL KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE BALLPARK
what im going to say might sound like a joke but it isnt. From their last live performance in 86 to Freddie's death in 91, Queen had more top songs that most bands had in their life, that were never performed live, "I Want it All", "The Show must go on", "Innuendo", "The Miracle", "The Invisible man" (i hate that song with passion but everyone liked it), "Headlong" and then you just have to add all of the "Made in Heaven" album, released post his death but was all written and sang before 91. You could still add the "The works" which was rushed for 86 and that adds 3 more worldwide know songs
WRONG. THIS IS THE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR THE SHOW MUST GO ON. The reason why they couldn't really make a normal music video was due to the fact of Freddie's ill health and the fact that he was dying made a music video by this stage almost impossible. So, the band took the decision to do this montage of bits from previous Queen videos and images taken from some of their concerts. I particularly love the image of the massive crowd at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire and the Queen chopper because it helps give everyone an idea of just how huge the Queen crowd were and i think symbolises just what a huge outfit oe name they really are in the industry.
This video is a parody of a beloved English sitcom called Coranation Street. It destroyed them for it in America, because they didn't understand it. Freddie vowed he would never perform again in America unless they excepted it. They lost America because of it. The old gesiers in charge of MTV at the time were ridiculous in their thinking. Roger said those guys didn't think it was macho enough. Yes it was compiled with different videos. I Want To Break Free is the beginning. That's the one I'm referring to.
This is the official video. They compiled a bunch of oil videos and concert footage because Freddie was too sick at this point to make a video. This is most definitely the official video, these are the songs where Freddie could barely stand anymore, bless him.
Yep. Someone needs to do research ;) but it’s not his strong point
like they said. But we didn't care back in the 80's about videos, in fact most bands didnt give a crap until the early 90's. It was about music, not about confetti's like it is today :P

I can't listen to this song without crying. To think Freddie was dying & Performed like this?! RIP FREDDIE, was a beast!!❤
We played this at my grandad's funeral, this and who wants to live forever. He was a huge Freddie fan (he loved Queen but freddie was his favourite).
There's no official video with Queen because Freddie was literally dying when he sang it. You're hearing the amazing voice of a dying man. RIP A LEGEND.
This is the official video, produced by Queen in 91, and released alongside the single.
And all the Innuendo album was recorded at the end of November 1990. Freddie was very ill but he died literally one year later
You are totally wrong! This is AN OFFICIAL QUEEN VIDEO! At this point, Freddie was so ill they chose to create their videos from old clips.
Real diamond in Queen's crown of music - The show must go on
This was very brave of Freddie to sing this ❤❤God bless him in the shape he was in😢😢
This song was both permission and instruction to all that loved him. Brian said he did this in one take x😊
