Hi mate I have been shaving all of my life using shaving foam after watching this video I went and bought a brush and followed the directions used in video and wow I was extremely impressed happy man so 11.08.2024 is the date of my 1st actual real shave this was by far greatest outcome I have ever had this shave I made I had no cuts was perfect!! Thank u bro just wish I seen this earlier in life
A good tutorial for those who've never bowl-lathered a cream. I mostly face lather and either smear cream on my face or load the brush with cream from the palm of my hand. I use my boar or badger brushes to bowl lather soaps and creams. As you implied, it's really a preference thing. Enjoy your next shave whenever it is 😊
Literally have just started using shaving cream and learning how to work up my lather properly with the brush. Thanks for the video Matthew this gave me a much better idea of what to do next time. it's a process but I really love it. the cream i'm using is Jack the barber sandalwood cream. I shave with that then i finish off with a splash of Pinaud Clubman after shave lotion, really old school scent, makes me feel like i'm teleported back to the 1960's
i have always used foam but that your method does seem rather zen, i like it. Are there any significant differences in your experience between using foam and cream?
@@bumpndump9643 yes! Once you use cream or a shave soap, you will never go back. It is definitely slicker and smooth. If you give it a try let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching!
Nice tutorial! This is nothing on you, but I've been hearing that hard water thing for years now and I have hard water that leaves behind calcium deposits. I have yet to have any problem lathering any soap with it, even Michelle's Wool fat. Just odd because I've heard that people have that problem, I just haven't experienced it. I'm just lucky, I guess-lol! I have seen people lather with soft water and they have to use less soap because it practically explodes it lathers so fast. Who knows. Have a great one!
@@lastshadow9351 the hard water thing might just be something that people say to feel better about not being able to lather. Hehehehe. Thanks for watching Ian!

Great video my friend! A great how to for new guys and how to bowl lather
@@seanstapelfeld thanks Sean! I did do a little more in depth bowl lathering video previously.
Great tutorial. I bowl lather my creams. But if I’m in a rush a synthetic and face lather is the quickest option for me in that situation.
@@r55mannyp I can see how face lathering would be helpful in a time crunch. Thanks for watching manny!
Nice tutorial, Matthew. I've never used a cream before. All I have are soaps/croaps. One of these days, i will have to try one.
@@Mr_ZB18 they make for a little quicker of a lather. Thanks for watching!
Hadn't heard "croaps" before. Assume it's dense cream in a bowl. TOBS an example?
@kenweller2032 it's a soap that is softer than a hard soap like Stirling & PAA
@@kenweller2032 croaps are a cross between shaving cream and shaving soap. Kind of a medium

Arko 🤙🏼❤

Screw that lather BS expensive and loads of chemicals. Straight up Olive oil. About a tbsp on the finger tips gently rub it over your face and shave.
@@arthursmith643 I’ll have to give it a try sometime. Thanks for watching Arthur!
