Pure genius!!! I made a lap-size granny square piece with 48 squares and didn't weave in ends along the way. I regretted it! I learned my lesson. Thanks for a great solution for other works!!!
@TL Yarn Crafts • Toni: Kudos to you! Not only did you give very complete instructions, but you supplemented them with great camera work, well-lit, and close-up, but you also took the time to bring in the graphic of the S & Z twist yarns. Other UA-camrs just don't compare to you. Thanks so very much for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us. 👍
Merry Christmas to you and yours. May you have a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year!
I never made tassels before, but when I have a project that needs them, I am DEFINITELY using this technique! It looks SO much easier than other tutorials I've seen! You always come with the real tea, Toni!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I almost forgot! Happy Holidays!! 🎄🕎🎄🕎🎄🕎🎄
This is brilliant. All those tails gave me anxiety, but this is a VERY cute solution. Love it!
Such a cute solution! And I love the yarn in this tutorial! Would you mind sharing what kind is it?
This actually solves multiple problems for me! I (along with everyone else, I'm sure) hate sewing in ends, but I also hate the look, feel and maintenance of loose fringe. This, however, looks great. It seems easy to take care of. It doesn't seem like it's going to come loose from the project any time soon, and it's not just loose pieces of yarn, but thick, soft, twisted tassles that won't get all tangled or tickle my arms 😂 I will definitely keep this in mind for my next multi colored blanket project!
Fantastic idea 🎉 I have avoided the temperature blanket for this very reason but this is a great solution ❤
Thank you for sharing this technique. You explain directions so clearly. ❤
Nice hack, it could look sweet on a poncho or an asymmetrical shawl as well ❤ Thank you
Perfect timing! I’ve been mosaic crocheting and I have a ton of ends that need tending to
Hi Toni, I love your channel. I have a hack to make this process even quicker! Years ago, my young daughter wanted this Conair Quick Braid Tool for twisting hair. She lost interest in it within a week, then I saw how it worked, it does the same twisting for making tassels, but it’s battery operated. One year, I wove 30 dish towels for my quilting students and this tool made the tassels a breeze! I hope it helps!
Love this! Never tried to make tassels like this! I did something similar a long time ago... the pull rope dog toys with fabric scraps. They probably do better in the washing machine too!
🎉 can't wait until I get the happy place yarn! I've worked with 100% wool in the past, never tried any of the blended fibers before.... needless to say my new year's resolution is to rid myself of red heart. I'm just ready to explore this new world of fiber art!
Your tutorials are always so clear! Thanks for this!
i love this. It looked so elegant on your temperature blanket. Thanks for sharing the tutorial.
Oh my goodness this is perfect! I do a lot of mosaic crochet and that has loose ends on every row! But this will make things so much easier! Normally the patterns call for a border that covers all those ends rather than weaving them in, or sewing fabric over it. But those ALSO take forever! Which was a main factor why I’ve never been brave enough to do a mosaic crochet blanket! I’m definitely going to do this so I can finally make the mosaic blanket of my dreams!
I've always done the fringe part when I know there's going to be lots of ends left over but the twist part?? Love that! Merry Christmas Toni to you and your loved ones. Stay safe. And Merry Christmas to all the viewers around the world. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Saving for your looping the tassel trick. I would like to make an Apache tears blanket and this feels like the perfect solution to the ends. How long of start/ending strands did you leave yourself?
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve got a throw that I finished crocheting months ago. However it’s been sitting because I couldn’t decide what to do with the yarn at the end of each row since each row is a different color! Eek! Thank you for showing how to do this fringe!!
I'm sorry, I'm going to watch this again, I was so concentrated on your beautiful nails. I have no idea what you said. 😂
Wow, that looks great. Even I could do that. Would be great for mosaic crochet too. Love it.
Fantastic demo! Can’t wait to use this tassel tip.
Love it! Wish I’d known when I made a temp blanket a few years back! 😂 Maybe I’ll have to make another one! 🤔Thank you!
What a fantastic edging and use of those dreaded “must sew in” ends! Gives the project a little more flare! Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Toni, your nails are so cute! Great tutorial… fringe intimidates me so much, but now I want to do this on all my projects
Omg I just received your book with two fishes a cat and two llamas. Thank you can’t wait to read love that my book is signed by you❤❤❤❤
This is such a cool technique! Thank you for teaching it so clearly. I look forward to trying it out.
Wait a minute... That's not a yearbook! 😂 Loved the tutorial but I remembered what you said in your blanket video and was looking forward to the yearbook cameo.
🤩 I like this method for the tassels! Thanks for teaching us how to make our lives easier 🙂 HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU 🎄
I love this method, thank you for sharing it! It reminds me of braiding techniques that use when doing hair, never would’ve thought to apply to my crochet projects! Thanks again ❤😊
Love it!!!!😍 thanks for sharing!
Just ordered your book!! Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!! You have been a amazing light. I’m going to learn Tunisian fell in love with your pot holders that are done threw the back loop. Simply thank you
Love the rainbow colors that you have used for this it looks very beautiful have a blessed day and Happy Merry Christmas and New Years to you and your family and your friends God-bless you all! 🎉❤
Beautiful blanket and tassels.... great technique... 1st time i see it😍
You are simply genius! Thanks for all that you do and have Happy Holidays!
This is so smart. I think it'd look so pretty braided as well. I always think to add beads to this type of yarn ends.
You are so calm and patient (although no one is there to get on your nerves.🥴) Your instructions and directions are always so simple to follow and your visuals are easy to see and understand. I really appreciate what you do to help.
Have an amazing 2024! 🥰🤗
I never ever do tassels but this technique has inspired me. ❤
Wow what a great idea!! Thank you for your great instructions!!
I shy away from so many patterns because of end weaving. This is a game changer, Thank You!!
I love how those look! I've never seen this before. Thanks for sharing!
THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING WHY YOU TWISTED IN THE DIRECTION YOU DID!!! I never understood seeing the difference between the twist in the yarn thank you!
Thank You so much - when I saw you doing this on your temp. blanket I was so tempted to start ome! I don't mind weaving in a few ends but it looked overwhelming. I loved the twisted fringe but I wished you had shown us how to do it. HMMM how does that twist stay in??????? WELL now we all know THANKS AGAIN
I love this idea!!!
Regarding fabric glue- I've a friend who is unable to sew. When I suggested fabric glue, she said she was warned against using it; it doesn't hold. Can anyone recommend a Really good one? Good enough to hold, say, a piece of fabric to a t-shirt so it's wearable & washable? Does that exist?
OMGosh! That is insane, I never would have thought of it but WOW it really works! Thank you for sharing this amazing tassel hack!
Very neat. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you SO much for sharing these with us!!
Do you sell that scarf pattern? I’ve been making hats and scarves for my mom to give away at church. She runs a program for less fortunate people in our community to come get clothes and shoes and stuff once a month for free. I would LOVE to try that pattern.
Toni, what is your take on Modern Crochet? I have been trying to explore alternative textures and stitches to the traditional granny square look and I'm thinking of picking it up.
What a great tutorial! I don’t crochet much, but I do knit and weave, and this process can be used there as well. PLUS it is such a good way to make sure your tassels are nice and full. This is definitely getting saved for next time I have some ends to finish.
I just finished making a pineapple peacock shawl & also did tassels to avoid weaving in the ends xD They're just so cute
Amazing, I have been thinking about starting a mood blanket this year but the idea of weaving in 365 ends just very reluctant to start. I love this.
Great video! I've always wondered how to do tassels easily. Thank you for such clear instructions (both in words and in video) 😍
I just found you and I’m so glad I did! This video is fabulous! I can’t wait to try it! The way you teach is just the style I respond to the best. Thank you so much! I plan on spending time to watch your other videos!
Beautiful job and fun to watch! Thank you for posting....
What a great hack. Perfect for projects that changes color every row. One question-- How does the twisted fringe hold up in the wash?
If you want tighter twists, roll your thumbs towards your index finger tip, over the yarns, as you’re twisting them together.
Also, that “knot” at the top is so simple, but genius that my head hurts.
Thanks for the tip. My favorite blanket I had as a kid had tassels like this. It was a woven blanket and the tassels were shorter but I loved running my fingers through them. Now I'm thinking why haven't we thought of doing this before instead of being miserable about weaving in all the ends?!
Hi TL yarn craft I love ur video's and I have been in love with ur video's and your videos have made my crochet skills better and easier ❤❤ and I was asking my you please show us how to crochet a balloon animal
Oh, this is gonna revolutionize my striped scarf/shawl game
This is a way cool trick that I need to try😀! I hope I’m ok sharing my trick that I learned, which is this. I learned, that when you are through with making a blanket or a scarf and you want to add tassels, but don’t want to do the cut and tie method, is to simply make a row of single crochets. Then when you are at the end of your row, to simply slip stitch into the first stitch, chain 15 or however long you want your tassels to be and then slip stitch in the chain stitches coming down. When you have reached the bottom, you slip stitch back into the same stitch to secure the tassel and you keep repeating the pattern all the way down the row😃! This method makes it to where your tassels won’t fray when you throw your item into the wash, and they are actually very cute! I made a blanket scarf and I used this tassel technique, and I’m in love!
omg, Toni! This is an excellent tutorial!! I love twisted fringe, and I can't wait to try it!!
I am making a temperature blanket, but all of my strands are on one end. Will this technique also work for the other side of the work?
How dk you manage all those ends while you're still working? 😟
Omg! Genius!! ❤
Thank you so much! This is going to help so much on the big projects!
❤
I’d recommend using a yarn twister. It makes the whole process even easier and quicker !
i think i might be coming around to the twisted tassels! on a different note, i'm wondering what yarn you're using in this tutorial, if you have that info handy--it's so pretty!
This is so awesome and a gorgeous solution! I might actually start a blanket now...
Brilliant! What gorgeous yarn is in this video? I must have it! 🧶❤️🐙
Thank you thank you thank you! I have so admired your tassels but have been unable to create them successfully. It’s all about honoring the twist!
Oh yes, this is a beautiful idea! I'll defeintely give it a try. Thank you!
Brilliant and beautiful! Thank you so much for this ♥ ♥
Thank You for sharing your tassel technique!
So inspiring-I’ll try that or an enclosed border on my next blanket ❤
Brilliant. Perfect. Thank you!
Your swatch is beautiful ❤
I would love to see info on the yarn and stitch used for your swatches in your videos.
Genius!!!! Whenever I make a blanket next I'm gonna do this!
LOVE THIS! Thank you so much!
Love how this works! The effect is stunning! Thanks!
This is brilliant! Amazing, thank you for sharing! ❤
Great way to supplement wimpy fringe!!
Oh my goodness!! So beautiful!
Brilliant, I love this tip. Ty for sharing.
beautiful tassels! love your technique
So cute, and a nice different-looking tassel!
Are we twisting as we twist for a tighter tassel, like we would do for a twist in our hair?
Great tip, Toni! Thank you‼️😊
Thank you for this and I love your nails in this tutorial!
Cute! TFS! ❤
This is such an elegant way to manage this, thank you so much!
Omg, I love this! I despise weaving in ends😂.
Hi I stumbled onto yr channel & noticed you twisted yr tassel's & they sorta came undone a bit. i will try & share with you a way that that twist will not come undone. As you twist over to the right, twist the yarn that's on the right, give that yarn a single twist towards the left yarn keeping a hold with your pointer finger and thumb, so it doesn't unravel. Each time, the left yarn comes over to the right side, you will give the right yarn a slight twist towards the left, keeping mind, not to let the yarn go. Once you are finished with the length you want, when you let go, it shouldn't unravel at all 😉 happy twisting!!
Thanks for the recommendation! That's the way I do my niece's hair to keep the twists tight. For these, I wanted them a little fluffier, so I skipped the extra twist :-)
You gave excellent instructions!
Thank you for this very pretty time saver!
Love it❤
This is knowledge that i didn't know that i needed to know!
Thank you! And I love you nails❤
This makes so much sense and brilliant
I LOVE IT!!!! GENIUS! Thank you!!!
Brilliant! Thank you :)
